Chapter thirty-five.



I slept peacefully for once. I thought suffering a lonely night twice would've sucked, but I realized it wasn't so lonely when cold fingers brushed my hair. I opened my eyes instantly to turn at Edward. He played an emotionless expression on his face, which left me curious.
"Morning." I whispered.
He half-smiled. "Morning."
It was quiet for a while until he took a sigh.
"Ruth, get dressed, I need to speak with you."
I nodded, scratching my head and freshening up quickly. I was worried on what he had to say, hopefully it wasn't anything too bad...

Edward walked me out of my house to the forest behind me. He took us pretty deep in it until he suddenly came to a spot. He let go of his grasp on me, and leaned on a tree, looking away from me.
"So, what's wrong?" I asked.
He didn't look at me, but sighed.
"We're moving."
I gulped, "Ok, where are we going?"
Silence.
"Does Joss know? Is that what you guys were talking about yesterday?" I asked again.
He was still quiet, looking emotionless. I took his silence as my answer, and shook my head.
"When you mean 'we'..."
He looked up at me this time, "Me and my family."
"Why?" I asked, stepping closer to him.
"We've been here for too long, Carlisle's co-workers will be suspicious about him, and it's time for us to leave. They think he's been transported to los Angeles."
I was left with no air.
"Why... can't I come?"
Edward's jaw clenched.
"You just can't Ruth. What I am, I'm no good for you."
My jaw dropped, shocked. But I was in denial.
"Look, Edward if it was about Jasper, it was nothing!"
"You're right. It was nothing. But Jasper and Alice aren't with us now. Jasper just couldn't help but feel ashamed."
"But I said sorry, and it was ok. I forgave him!"
"Yes... but their in Alaska, with friends of ours."
I looked down, feeling a hole in my chest starting to grow.
"Edward you can't leave me."
"Ruth... it's not good for us... to be like this... you're safer in Joss's-"
"I'm not staying in Forks!" I stepped in closer. "I'm going with you!"
"Ruth, No." Edward said sternly.
"Why not?! I don't care about school, I can't be without you Edward!"
"Ruth, I don't want you anymore." Edward said lowly, but time consuming.
Every word pierced through my chest with a huge bang.
"W-What? But..."
Edward's face was hardened.
"There isone thing I would like to ask of you, if I can."
I stayed silent, letting a tear fall out of my eye.
"That you forget about me. It's better if I would've never existed. You be careful, and listen to Joss. And I'll never bother you again."
He was in front of me now, his hand on my neck as he kissed my forehead deeply.
"Goodbye, Ruth." Then he started walking deepe in the forest.
I stood there, not knowing what to do. What just happened? Was he really leaving me? Was he not going to come back?! He can't just do that to me, not now! Was this why he's been quiet? Did he fall out of love with me?
"Edward." I painfully yelled out. I started to walk over to the direction he went, but I stopped myself and turned around. I can't believe what is happening. I can't see Joss now, I can't see anyone. Not even Selene. Because they can't help my heart was damaged as he put it just now. He can't just leave like that. Neither can Emmett, or Alice...
They were my family, they made me feel like I belonged somewhere. What was I going to do without them? Selene isn't close by anymore, what was happening to me?
Was I always to be condemned?!
I stepped to my front yard seeing the car was gone, and I stepped in, grabbing the whole box of warm blood bags, and carrying it in my room. I locked the door, and placed the box beside my wall, as I sat down leaning on it, sobbing painfully.
I love you, Edward, why did you leave me?
