Blood Drops and Heart Beats [ch. 04] [Jepha Howard]

That new girl that Jepha is so head over heels with is a Secret. A vampire. I wondered if I should tell him. It could be dangerous, getting romantically involved with a Secret. And a Toreador? Her father is part of the council. He's very high up too. I watched him run off to his next class, following her. If she was like how I read her, he was going to have some difficulty catching that one.
"Hey, you." I turn around. It's the Till guy that was with the two girls. I can't read him at all. I know he's a Secret though. "I'm Till." He extends a hand.
"Yeah. Till Toreador. I know your father. I'm Quin Allman."
"Oh yeah. Your dad works with my dad. I've heard about you." That couldn't be good. My dad only talks about the negatives when it comes to me.
"Yeah. Good things I hope."
"Ehh. Some good. Some bad." He smiles. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. Finally, a Secret I could possibly be friends with.

Ancients forbid. This guy never shut up. I kept trying to read him, but that wasn't possible. I couldn't understand why. His eyes were beautiful though. That was the plus about listening to him. I say listening because he never really gave me a chance to talk. As far as I could tell, he wasn't a secret at all.
"Do you have a favorite band? Mine is this really cool heavy band called Job For A Cowboy. What kind of music are you into?" He paused so I could answer.
"Oh uhm, different kinds. I don't have a specific favorite. I really like Angelspit and Blood On The Dance Floor."
"Oh. So dancy music?"
"Some. I like this one band called The Acacia Strain that are pretty heavy. i don't like to stick with one genre, you know?"
"Yeah. I don't sometimes. But I don't like pop or country. Not a fan of them that much. But I admit some of it is okay. So do you go to clubs? My friend Quin takes me to some clubs with him every once in a while. Raves and whatnot."
Oh great. A human in a vampire club. How safe? "I like to go to some clubs every once in a while. I go with my sisters, my cousin, and my brother." He nodded and the final bell rang. We had every class together. How unfair? I got up and dashed out of the class room. I had some trouble finding my locker. There were four stories to this school and I kept forgetting which one my locker was on. I'd never been the new kid except for in kindergarten, back when everyone was the new kid. I found it eventually, once the halls had cleared. I put everything up, gladly having no homework for the weekend and hurried out the door at the front of the school. I saw Till's car no where. I pulled out my phone and dialed the number furiously.
"Hello?"
"Where the fuck are you?"
"Home. I figured you'd get a ride with that Jepha kid."
"What the...? Till! You should have waited for me. No one is here. The buses are gone, and I don't feel like walking. Fucking wait next time." I said and hung up. He probably met someone and was dying to get him home and in his bed.
"Hey. You're ride left you?" I sighed and rolled my eyes. Sadly, I knew who it was before he even opened his mouth.
"Yes, Jepha. He uh, said he didn't feel like waiting all day for me and so he went home early."
"Oh. Well I could give you a ride." He said and gave me a cheeky grin. "It's no problem whatsoever so don't even protest." I sighed again. Why not?
"Sure. Thanks so much. I live right around the corner so it's not far of a drive."
"Even if it was far, it wouldn't annoy me at all, being in your company."
"Right." I said and giggled. He was so adorable. Humans are like puppies. Adorable and cute. I followed him to the car and smiled as he opened my door for me. What a gentleman. How cute was he?
