It was time for new windows. My wife and I both knew it but we had been putting it off year after year. This year I had to put my foot down. I told her we’d use whatever we get back from Uncle Sam in taxes and use that or as much as that to get them. The problem with buying new windows is two-fold. On one hand they are very expensive and on the other they are not something you can really enjoy. New windows are a boring adult purchase that we were not ready to make in the past. As it turns out we had been giving Uncle Sam way too much money in 2009 and our tax return was fairly significant. It was tempting to suggest we use it for a vacation but I knew that those days were over. We decided to go all out and got windows with double glazing. These windows are pretty cool. They look amazing and provide the best insulation that money can buy. I should know. The estimate was enough to completely wipe out the money from Uncle Sam $456.
