Handicap accessible van dealers are located all over the country, enabling buyers to purchase a handicap van close to where they live. New handicap vans can be purchased by a certified dealer, which allows them to sell conversion vans made by a particular equipment manufacturer. Additionally, handicap van dealers may also sell used wheelchair vans, install adaptive equipment, and service and maintain handicap vans.

In general, it is better off to buy a handicap van from a local dealership rather than, for example, one in another state. This reason is due to the fact that you want to make sure the mobility vehicle you buy can be serviced and maintained locally. Additionally, warranties may not be validated by a local mobility dealership that did not sell you your van. This means that to do the work needed, you will be paying the shops' hourly service fee.

When choosing a handicap accessible van dealer, it is also important to see if they offer 24 hour service. This is extremely important for passengers or drivers of handicap vans, seeing as how electrical problems do occur.
