Most people use the SMTP server provided by their Internet Service Provider (ISP). Or if you use web based email such as Hotmail or Yahoo mail, you have no control over the SMTP server -- it is built in. Your SMTP server accepts the email, looks up the IP address of the destination server, breaks the message up into packets, computer bbs directory and sends the packets to the destination through a series of 'hops' (usually a sequence of very high-powered routers). The path that your email takes through the internet is determined by the various routers.
Sometimes you will have to conduct formal end-user training where you take small groups aside and show new users an application or a new piece of hardware. A security program that updates on a regular basis will be able to offer a much higher level of protection from most of the internet worms and email worms that are currently going around. Another thing that we can do is be very careful opening any emails that come from people that you do not know, many of the viruses and internet worms are spread via emails.
Lasers need to be at least 35mW in power to have a beam that is visible during the day out of direct sunlight. Even the most powerful portable lasers will not have a visible beam in direct sunlight. Visibility will depend on the angle the beam is viewed from and the background color.
