"Two pieces of chocolate or one?" Nate asked me as I sat on a chair at the kitchen table. (He was the tall blond boy that was in the kitchen earlier when I first arrived.)

It was almost an hour after Carlisle had called everybody into his office. After I had scared the kids to death we got to know each other better. It's not something I usually do but if your going to be stealing the serum then running away you're going to want to know all their powers, weaknesses and strengths. So far i had learned that:

Nate Garfield, the one making me something called like a more or something, he talked to all animals. I had know his father briefly until he was killed for reasons that i didn't know, nor cared to know. Nate was blond, tall, handsome and strong. He wasn't nearly as strong as I because his powers didn't mutate his muscles or body much, just his brain I'm pretty sure. Nate was nice and even though he was tall and muscular he was sweet and kind as well. It's hard to find a guy like him that's actually nice! Nate looked like he might be useful when I need some one to cover for me when i sneak out to eat later before I steal the serum and run off to Vancouver. (Yes I was sticking with my plan I had thought up only two hours ago.)

Garret Moore, he was sitting next to me in a chair eating a sticky more which made me regret agreeing to eat one. It looked so human like to eat something like that. But Garret was the other boy in the kitchen, the dark haired one that wasn't as tall as Nate. Garret's power was unique, one i hadn't seen in a while. He could change the gravity around him making it heavier or lighter depending on what he wanted. It was a very dangerous power. Garret could easily screw up and make the gravity so forceful that he'd make every ones body's implode or he could take too much gravity away and make all of us explode as well! Last time I saw a power like this a man named Charles Kellogg. Kellogg was a very smart and powerful man. He had even designed a machine that would amplify his powers like so many other mutations had done. He was planning on using it on the humans who hadn't accepted the mutations and still haven't. But he had to use machine in the same room that he would put the humans and that meant it would blow himself up as well. And Kellogg wanted to be able to live to tell the tale. But he tried anyway thinking if his mutation had given him the power of gravity control then it had given him the power to resist the pressure of the gravity. So Kellogg gathered a room filled with humans and blew them up with gravity along with others outside the building. Before most of the mutations even knew of his machine or his plans he was dead along with twelve humans. Luckily a student, one in a facility like Carlisle's, had been in town and was able to erase the memory of the deaths with her mind control mutation. The amount of power it took to erase the memories of the incident along with the people in it almost cost the students lives. And now Mutations all around the world use his name, Kellogg, as a code word for a messed up or mental mutation. But Garret didn't seem like the Kellogg type which was good.

Lynaya Airheart was the girl in the hall I had scared and she also owned the room I had snuck into when i snuck into the facility. She had the mutation of being able to control electricity. She could generate electricity from inside of her and penetrate objects with it, or she could control things that were electric. There was an endless amount of possibilities concerning her mutation. But she was not the brightest of mutations which took a toll on her powers. She still had a lot of learning to do before she would leave the institute but I don't think she minded much. At least she didn't seem to mind. Apparently she had no where to go. Her parents had abandoned her when they found out what she was. Tommy had told me in whispers that her parents had tried to sell her, lock her up, send her to a mental institution, tried to kill her, tried to stake her and even tried to kill her with a silver bullet. I have no idea how she survived the six months of this torture but Tommy had told me that Carlisle and Tommy had arrived at the Airhearts just before Lynayas parents tried to shoot her. I guess they were happy to give her away rather then having to hide her corpse and have the guilt of killing a person stain their brains.

"You ready to try this?" Nate asked handing me a paper plate that had a more on it.

I lifted up a weird brown small almost breadish like square that was on top of the more. "So what's in a more?" I asked.

Nate looked confused and Garret laughed. "It's a smore. With an S at the beginning not a more!" Nate laughed as well.

I nodded and looked embarrassed. "So then what's in this, this smore thing."

"There's a graham cracker," Nate said lifting up the brown breadish square apparently called a Graham cracker, "A marshmallow and a piece of Hershey chocolate followed by another Graham cracker." Nate had called the mushy, gooey white blob a marshmallow and the brown liquid underneath it that you could only seeoozing out of the sides around the marshmallow a piece of Hershey's chocolate, whatever that was.

Garret shook his head and swallowed the last bit of smore. "I can't believe you've never had a smore before!"

I thought about it for a minute. "I think I've had one but it's been like sixty years I bet."

Nate choked on the brown fizzy liquid he was drinking out of a cup that he called a Coke. "Sixty years?! I thought you were seventeen!"

It was now my turn to laugh at them. "No way! I was born in thelate 1930s! I don't know when exactly because as soon as I was about seven I was sent to the laboratories. My parents were set on making me the best werewolf mutations have ever seen!"

Garret and Nate were quiet for a while. As they thought i fixed my smore and then prodded the marshmallow with the tip of my finger. This food they were eating didn't look very good! I mean there wasn't the high after a kill, no meat to rip through, and no warm blood sloshing into your mouth as you take your first bite for the jugular vein! No wonder they don't feed you human food in the labs! It's so boring compared to the livestock they did give us!

"So how do you become a werewolf?" Nate asked suddenly.

I debated on weather I should tell them or not. I didn't want them to get to know me like I had gotten to know them, their powers, weaknesses and strengths. But they were only stinky teens! What's the worst they could do? Send bunny rabbits after me?! It's not like Garret could blow me up without blowing every one else and it's not like Lynaya had enough power to seriously hurt me! "Well it's a long process and completely opposite then the legends. And it's a little, well to say it bluntly, a little torturous. Okay so not a little, really torturous!!! You guys have no idea!" I shook my head. Nate grabbed a chair that was on the side of me Garret was not. I could tell they were both seriously interested in my past.

"There is 5 stages to become a werewolf. But before you even start the process you have to see if you are compatible enough to become a werewolf. If you pass that test, which sometimes you don't even know you've taken because the scientists will just come up to a random kid and take a sample of their DNA mostly through a strand of hair, but if you pass then they either kid nap you or in my situation your parents send you to the lab and they lock you in your cell and feed you only raw meat.

"And that's the beginning of Stage One. After your locked up they start injecting you with tiny doses of the werewolf gene which is actually a rare type of rabies that takes over the body. It has to be small amounts each session because if over dosed the gene will take over too quickly and it will kill the patient. But as your being injected for the month of Stage One your immune system starts to improve along with sense of smell and sight, and makes your teeth, hair and nails grow at alarming rates. And by then your done with Stage One.

"Stage Two- by this stage you don't mind eating raw meat or having to shave your whole body everyday. But shaving won't be needed after this stage. In Stage Two for three months they inject you with even more of the werewolf gene which turns you into a crazy wolf/human thing. This is where most of the patients die. The scientists say it's because their bodies can't keep up with the change of being a wolf but I know the real reason. It's because their brains can't take having all of your human traits getting shoved out of the way by all the wolf instincts. It's almost as if your brain doesn't know if your a wolf or a human so it gives up and that's how the patients die. But the injections of this Stage, they start improving your aging slowing it down to almost every fifty years of living a werewolf really only ages one year making us practically immortal. But don't tell anyone this," Carter said softly looking at the silent Nate and Garret sitting on both sides of her. They had been totally absorbed in her story. "Since I'm the descendant of the leaders of this werewolf practice the scientists added an extra twenty years to my age slowing. So for me every seventy years I age one. Which means in only about63 years I'll turn 18."

"Dude that is sick!" Garret whispered with a slight smile on his face. "In an old kind of way!" He laughed as Carter rolled her eyes.

"Back to the story, Dude!" She said mocking Garret. "That's the end of Stage Two. Now you're already on Stage Three, well some patients are. Every one works at their own pace so say you get ten new patients on the same day. By seven moths some of them can still be on Stage two or some of them can be all the way to Stage four. It just depends on how quickly your body adapts really. But anyway, Stage Three. In this stage your hair growth just suddenly stops. Not like you go bald but you don't have to shave every day any more. The scientists don't know why this happens but it just does. It's almost like it stops growing because it's waiting inside of you, just waiting until Stage Four when you phase into full wolf form for the first time. But of course the scientists say it's loony to think that. Anyway, the scientists are still injecting you with werewolf gene but not nearly as much as they did in the last two stages. By now your body has probably enough gene to keep the process going. In this stage you also get very hormonal. It's like your bipolar for two months while the scientists teach you the basics to being a werewolf. This stage is mostly preparing you for Stage Four when you phase.

"But Stage Four, the stage when you phase to full savage beast. On the first day of this stage they inject you with just enough gene to finish the injections for good and then they take you to a secured cell and lock you in. They take you to a more secured cell because some of the patients almost have an adrenaline rush for the whole six months and could easily tear apart their old cell. I wasn't like that. The scientists say i was the most calm and most wolf like patient they've had. I didn't try to snap at the people who threw the half deer carcasses into my cell and I didn't growl, bark or howl excessively like the rest. I just napped mostly and paced in my cell which the scientists say was extremely weird. But I don't remember it. Neither do any of the other patients. The scientists don't know why you lose your memory for the sixth months but you do. And then the six moths are over and you just automatically phase back to your normal human form. Again the day you phase back is never certain or the same day as your cell mates. Some of the smarter kids can phase to normal a month earlier then the rest and some of the less smart patients can take an extra month to phase to normal. They say that the reason you just randomly phase to normal is because during this six month process your brain and body is fighting against the beast and finally around six months is when your brain wins and is able to control the beast. And when you phase to normal it ends Stage Four for you.

"Now onto the last stage, Stage Five. This whole 18 months of a stage is only focused on training. Since it's the final stage they start to prepare you for when you leave the laboratory. Most patients think that in this stage they're going to learn how to blend with your surroundings, how to stalk your prey without being seen and how to hunt. but they were sadly wrong. For the 18 months of this stage you are taught the most evil, repulsive, sinful, corrupt, malicious, atrocious and wicked things you will ever hear in your life. They teach you how to hunt animals for about the first day. After that it's how to hunt human and other mutations. They teach you how to be silent when sneaking through security systems. And they teach you how to blend in with the society and how to hunt humans without people being suspicious. Many times the patients are sent on hunting missions after animals for practice and sport. But some special kids that their trainer chooses gets sent on special missions. They are taken on a human hunt. Your trainer drops you off at an empty house where you have to live for a month, feeding on humans in the area without getting caught. Of course I was chosen for many of the missions. And let me tell you from the point of view of someone who was actually there. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. To send children out to eat humans! To eat people who we used to be just like! And there were other missions. Mutation hunting missions. And missions where you had to fight your partner who was sent with you on your mission! Oh how many times I wished i could escape! But of course its so secure because they know what they're doing is wrong so no one has ever snuck in or escaped. If only I had.

"But so many patients have died because of these experiments. Because of being too young or just simply not ready. The scientists just use normal humans off the streets since its so much more complicated with mutations. Most of the patients range from 13 years old to 19 years old. They choose younger students because they will live longer and because your at the peak of the healthiest time of your life when your the age they kid nap you. Most patients have werewolf parents or their human parents were killed by werewolves. The lab only lets in about 10-12 kids at a time and by the end they only have about 7-9 survive.

"By the end of Stage Five it will have been around 2 and a half years. And the laboratory doesn't hold a graduation ceremony. Just when they think your ready they open the door and lock you out as you stand there befuddled about what to do next. The Dictators, aka my parents, they run the laboratory and the funds for the lab are paid by some guy who calls him self the confuser. He's supposedly super evil or something. I've never met him but my parents think he's a god. But since he pays for the lab most of the patients when they finish Stage 5 go and work for him. And then that's the end. You just go one with you life."

Garret and Nate sat there staring at Carter who had finally finished her long tale. "That's all true?" Nate asked.

Carter nodded and then the kitchen door slammed shut. The three teens jumped and turned around to see Tommy standing in the doorway to the kitchen. "Won't your Mommy and Daddy be mad that you told two mutated boys about the secret lab?"

Carter rolled her eyes and growled. "It hasn't been very secret ever since you joined with the Facilities."

Tommy growled back. "Better then being with the wolves."

"Ha!" Carter laughed. "Yeah right! You have to take orders from some mutation, eating store bought meat, having to deal with stinky teens. Yeah that's way better then the wolves!" Carter said sarcastically.

Tommy glared at Carter then stormed out of the kitchen.

It was silent for a minute as Carter turned back around to face the dinner table and started prodding the marshmallow with her finger again. "What's the Facilities?" Garret asked in a small whisper.

Carter chuckled. "Wow. Well it's what were in right now. A school for mutations. What the heck do you call it?" She turned to him and lifted an eyebrow.

"School." Garret said embarrassed and looked down at his hands.

Carter rolled her eyes. "The wolves call it Facilities because that's what they are. It's an education facility for mutations."

"You think you're better then mutations." Nate said bluntly.

Carter nodded. "Dur! I mean it took me two years to have complete control over my powers and it's taken you forever as you stay in this "school" wasting your time! Of course I'm better." Carter said like it was obvious.

"Yep wolves are so much better. Because look how you turned out. No friends, only enemies including your parents, having to go through torture and having it scar you for life, being a loner. And worst of all, being powerless against the beast inside of you. Having to hunt humans because it's hungry. Having to be angry all the time because it is. Having to revolve your life around the beast. And you still don't see it! You think your so in control! NEWS FLASH! YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR POWERS!" Nate screamed and stood up from the table.

"YOU WANNA BET?!" Carter screamed back. She stood up from the table and charged at Nate who was half was out the door to the kitchen. She lunged at him and as she was in the air she phased into full wolf form. But just before Carter could slash the back of Nate's head Nate turned around and held a hand up. Instantly Carter dropped out of the air and onto the ground not under her own free will.

Nate glared at Carter. "In control are you?" He lifted his hand. "Sit puppy!" He said harshly and Carter in full wolf form had to obey. Her brain was slowly turning blank and she knew what Nate was doing. He was controlling her human brain too with out knowing it. Carter whined and then growled trying to send a signal to Nate that he was killing her but it only made him angrier. "Roll over!" Carter had to do as he said and as she was in the middle of rolling she passed out. Everything went blank and just as it did she could almost feel the pressure of Nate being relieved from her brain.
