...At The Hospital...

It's all my fault. Those bruises, those cuts, the minor concussion... They're all my fault. God, I'm stupid! I've been in this stupid white room for the past three hours, waiting for Chelsey to wake up. I remember her pushing me out of the way and screaming my name. I remember me yelling, "Chelsey!" After that, I'm surprised I didn't black out. Once that car hit her the jaeger in my system faded and common sense came flooding back.

I'm such and idiot! I walk up to Chelsey's hospital bed and kiss her cheek. A tear finds its way out of my eye as I mutter over and over, "I'm so sorrry."

I hear the door open and I calm myself while sitting back in my seat. Blake walks in with a death glare fixed on me. Is the guilt written on my face or something? He see Chelsey, his eyes growing wide and mouth dropping. "It's your fault, isn't it?" he says still facing Chelsey. Is he talking to me? He turns my way. "It is," he says not asking this time.

I sigh and open my mouth to say something. The words don't come out and I just nod to shut him up. Why lie?

"Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be fucking Shannon or something?" he snaps.

"Look," I say. "I know you're mad at me for that but you don't care about Chelsey, do you? You just want to get back at me. Well it's not working. Because I love Chelsey. She's more important to me than getting ass from someone who never cared about you in the first place." He just stares. I know that was asshole-ish but i don't care. The kid needs to mind his own fucking business.

Chelsey groans. I run up to the bed - "acidentally" pushing Blake in the process. Ha! I did that on purpose. "Alex," she whispers. She furrows her brows. "Alex?"

"Chelsey, I'm here."

"Alex!" she screams like she did when she pushed me out the way. "Alex, I need you! Don't leave me!"

"Chelsey, it's alright. I'm here!" I hug her trembling body close to mine. I feel her jerk upright into a sitting postion. Her eyes flying open while she gasps for air. "Are you ok?" I ask while rubbing her back.

"Alex?" She looks around frantically until she spots me. "Alex!" she says with joy. "You're ok."

"Yeah, he's fine. But you're not," Blake says.

"Chelsey lay down, you're hurt," I say.

"I don't care as long as you're safe," she states.

"I'm fine. Thanks to you being an idiot."

She shrugs(I've become used to her doing that like, nine times a day) and lays back down. Despite the pain she's probably in, she smiles up at me."I love you Alexander," she whispers.

"I love you too, Chelsey," I whisper.

Blake rolls his eyes. "Chelsey, I'm going to get something to eat. Call if you need me," he says.

This time, I roll my eyes. "She'll probably be checking out soon," I say.

"I know. I'm just saying in general. The last time she wasleft with you, she got hit by a car."

"Blake I'll be fine, but if I do need you, I'll call," Chelsey says cutting in to the cross-fire.

He closes the door behind him. "You know, he really does mean well," she says after a minute goes by.

I don'd give a fuck if he means well. I swear, if he ever looks at her like that again, his ass is mine...
