There's no question that your dear RV's exterior has been through a lot; the road debris, hot sun, bugs, wind, rain, sleet, hail...need I go on? Like metal, the paint on the outside of your vehicle will react with oxygen and start to break down. This is a chemically undeniable process that will eventually render the paint useless.
Lucky for you, some really smart chemists have outsmarted mother-nature's desire to return your paint job to the earth, and developed a special soap to help preserve it. Household detergents and cleaners can actually harm the surface due to the alkaline or acidic nature of these products. You could also use car wax, among other automotive products (if you're up to it) to give your paint job edded protection from the elements.
A good set of mud flaps on your tow vehicle or motor home will eliminate a great amount of the damage caused by road grit being flung back on the trailer. The splash guards that look like brushes can also be very effective when used in conjunction with mud flaps. . .
