In windows XP we enter the unlock key during the installation process. On the Your Product Key page, type your product key as it appears on your Windows XP CD case. The product key is unique for every Windows XP installation. If you're preparing to reinstall Windows XP you will need to locate your copy of the Windows XP product key - also known as the CD key.
