She had been a shy quiet first year, who slowly grew to be a wallflower in second and thris year,but after third year she became more outspoken, much like her best friend lily Evans.
The bushy haired geek of a third year came back fouth year much more confidant, but when her fifth year came around, She was as a muggle would say' a bombshell' .
She stood at about 5'5'', her long chestnut brown hair trailed down her back matched only with bright blue-grey eyes,and filled out in the right places, her name ..Zanthrui McGonagall.
"Hey James think fast" yelled Sirius from under the oak tree as he threw the bewitched ball they stole from the muggle village over the summer.James was only fast enough to move out of the way."Good thing they didnt make you keeper" he continued smirking."The cup would be as good as Slytherins"
Zanathrui caught the ball which had sailed past James"next time Siri,try to warn the poor boy"she laughed tossnig the balll back at sirius with a flick of her wrist,before she tied up her hair into a ponytail slowly braiding it,before flickign her wand atthe ball as it neared sirius causing it to become a muggle beach ball.
"Wow a beach ball.I've only seen that in pictures and most of the time a beautiful girl in swimwear was holding them.Too bad professor McGonagall didnt teach us to turn robes into bikinis."Said Sirius as he caught the ball with both arms.He gave Zathrui the wide smile that made him famous among the girls but right now only one girl mattered.
"This is a bit hard to hide from the size of it"he continued and with a flick of his wand shrunk the ball and stuffed it in his pocket.
"What class have u got now?And where's Lily?"said Sirius looking around.
Zanthrui sneers at sirius laughing"of course only you and all those other hormonial men out their would use the spell..."she grins"oh by the way..dont laugh if you see the slytherins in only undergarments.."Zanthrui was a prankster much like the boys,but she never got caught,in fact her pranks were always normally pinned on James and sirius.
"Thanks for the compliment and the Slytherins in their undergarments is an image I could do without."Said Sirius.
He knew what Zanthrui meant.If James was king of the prank and Sirius was his Vice then Zanthrui was queen of pranks.Not only was she good at pulling off a killer prank she was just as good at getting herself clear of all charges.So good that Sirius had already done much of her detentions.Not that he or James minded it.Detention was just the place to brainstorm another prank.
"So what do you have now?I have potions with Slughorn."Said Sirius.
"same..."she grins"he might be a little undressed " the female smiled gathering her things."come along Boys and see the work of my arts or whatever..."she laughs (ill double as Lily)
Lily came running out"come on Guys,I was waiting for you Zanthrui in the library!"that statement causing Zanthrui laugh"why would i go there?"Zanthrui retored as lily shrugged"well..i thought you'd look there thats all after all i was teh one who woke you.."lily glups realizing she shouldnt of said that as zanthruis gaze became murderious.
"Hey James.Our little prankster was in the library.Told you her pranks are all text book stuff."hollered Sirius.But James wasnt looking.He was gazing and pretty much drooling at Lily.Sirius aways felt that he had something for her.But when he saw the look on Zanthrui's face he said"But the Slytherin underpants thing is great.And so is Slughorn.Wait I didnt mean it like that.I didnt mean he looks good in his underwear.I mean I'd love to see him in his underwear.Wait I mean....ohh you know what I mean."
Zanthrui laughs"looks like i got the player all tounge tied"she smirks walking off with lily talking aboutthe upsoming Yule Ball,lily smiled"I do hope that Amos diggory asks me or maybe that cute ravenclaw."Zanthrui smiled"lily i bet you 10 galleons James will ask you"lily rolls her eyes"deal..he probably will."
"Very smooth."came Lupins voice from behind Sirius."Now she's certain to go with you to the Yule Ball after you proved you could have the grammar skills of a 5 year old."Sirius turned around and saw Lupin walking towards him.
"Who said I was going to ask Zanthrui to the Yule Ball?"said Sirius.
"Hmm.. is it the way your face lights up like a christmass tree everytime you see her?No couldn't be that.Could it be that you can't wait to see her in classes and in between classes?No couldn't be that.It should be something very obvious.Wait thats right.I can read your mind.Im so good at divination I fail."Said Lupin with sarcasm flooding all over Sirius.
"Wow.Its that obvious huh?Well who are you taking Lupin?No lady in mind?"replied Sirius.
"No idea so far.Might take that hufflepuff from Herbology.No point asking James is there?We along with the entire wizarding world know he's gonna ask Lily Evans.Then she's gonna say something along the lines of he's got more chance in going with the Giant Squid in the black lake than with her then he would come and sulk all day until Snape comes and we torture him.It always brings a smile to your face seeing Snape upsidown doesnt it?"Said Lupin."Well lets go to Potions before he tries to poison us."
when the boys entered teh potions call it was quiet a sight,the girls of sltherin wore skimpy undergarments and teh boys wore boxers with hearts or...other things.Zanathrui and Lily were already working on the potion,Felix Felicus,Zanathrui walked over to remus"can i talk to you Remus outside perhaps?"she looks at slughorn who nods"you two go on its prefect talk i dont need to hear."he says chuckling.
Lily giggles as she watches Zana and Remus walk out,before waving atthe only hufflepuff in teh class who was eyeing her."Hello Amos."she greets him as he comes over"hey lily." they start talking as Amos goes"so Lily...wanna go to the Yule ball with me?"lily looks at him then for somereasons when she loks at james discreetly she shakes her head"you know what Amos i forgot someelse already asked me...im sorry" Amos nods "its a'right"he goes back to his place.
Sirius kept his eye on Zanthrui.What did she wan't from Lupin that he couldn't do for her.He couldn't deny he was jealous of Remus even though they were very close friends.So busy was he watching Zanthrui leave with Lupin then talking James out of dueling Amos that he paid little attention to his potions.It turned a jet black color and smelled like rotten eggs when he added something he shouldn't have added.A minute later it started to emmit puffs of greenish eerie smoke.Slughorn walked over to him and said"Well I never expected you to pull it off.Why not ask lily to tutor you."
Sirius could sense that James had his eyes on him but he didn't think much before he said"No thank you Professor.I think I can improve on my own.I was...ummm...tired and couldn't concentrate much."
Slughorn pointed his wand at Sirius' cauldron and made everything inside it vanish."Ok I think you can leave now Mr.Black."He added.
Sirius rushed out of the classroom and saw Zanthrui and Remus standing in a bit far away talking rapidly.He wanted to come closer and hear them but he didn't want them to think he was eavesdropping.
Zanthrui smiled as they finished,she had asked Remus if he wanted to go to the Yule ball with her and had said yes. She hugged him smiling with a light blush," see you at seven tonight Remus" she kissed his cheek going back into the class. To bottle up her gold potion and take it up to slughorn who claps" lily and zanathrui have the two most golden potions!" lily and Zanathrui highfive each other, as slughorn gives them '20 points each '.
Zanathrui smiled as Remus's potion joined theirs ,just as golden.earning the gryffies another 20.
Sirius hadn't heard a thing from what they were saying but they turned around smiling at each other with Zanthrui blushing slightly and he knew the worse had happened.Up until that point he had wanted to ask Zanthrui to the Yule ball but now that she was going with Lupin there was no point in sulking.He didn't even know why he had thought of asking her.He wasn't sure if he had feelings for her but she seemed like the most obvious person to ask out.He was actually hoping he and James could double date if James ever convinced Lily to go to the ball with him.All those hopes and plans evaporated.Suddenly he was feeling happy.Happy that Remus had found someone to go with.Peter was bound to go with someone even if its a house elve and that leaves just James and him.James was bound to ask Lily out and after she rejected Amos James thought that was an invite.So really that leaves only him.Such a blow to his ego but hey he was Sirius Black.Not easy to keep him down.
Lily had accepted James invatation on the condintion that he never ask her out again.and for the rest of the classes lily and zana and Remus kept earning gryffindor points and by dinner gryffindor was up but another 250 points almost tied with the slytherins.
At dinner lily and zana weren't there due to the fact they were getting ready with some of the other gryffindor girls( the fifth sixth and seventh years),so that when the time of seven o'clock came around the girls were waiting for their dates.
Lilys red hair was put up into a bun loosely so elegant curls rested on her shoulder, her dress was of a light spring green ,the neckline was a slight vneck,the sleeves were not visible and the dress ended at her calfs,revealing her dark green highheels.and a light blush added to her cheeks and a tad smigde of black Kohl.
Zanathrui stood next to lily, her chestnutbrown hair was perfectly straight ,a few strands braided on each side of her head, and her dress the same vneck as lilys, was a brillant red which matched her cherry lips.this dress had no sleeves and rested just below the knee, her stockings were gold in color and her shoes a dark red.she wore an old necklace of her moms which was the Mcgonagal crest.the only makeup zana wore was a smugde of black eyeshadow and the red lipstick which suited her pale skin.
Sirius kept pacing the common room.He hadn't found the right girl to ask out.He could have asked anyone out he kept telling himself he just hadn't found anyone good enough.It was after all true.The castle was full of girls and he was alone.He had half a mind to just walk alone into the ball and hope to meet someone there but even he knew that wouldn't work.What would the perfect girl be doing alone at a ball?Waiting for him?That was so poetic but only happens in books.He thought he might pop in a few minutes then take a walk around the castle and the grounds. ...
