After the boys were finished with breakfast, they all split up to patrol the Res. Emily suggested to Jacob that he take Enna around and show her all of La Push. He took her to the beach first, then they wound there way around the forests, showed her the mountains and the changing scenery. It was a mixture of everything on the Reservation. He had to admit he never got tired of it. Ever.

Enna and Jacob made small talk for a while, both avoiding the questions they really wanted to ask. Finally, Jake decided it was time to break the ice. He needed to know what was going on, and he felt vulnerable not knowing what this girl was involved in. He cleared his throat and began, "So... Enna."She looked up at him and bit her lip. Jake couldn't help but think how endearing she seemed. The thought cropped up in his head that he wished he was the one tugging on her lip but he pushed it out of his mind when she started talking.

"Jacob... I know you and everyone else must be wondering what I'm doing here and why I am... the way that I am. I know I should tell you, because I am staying here, and you all have a right to know... but to be honest, I don't think you'd believe me if I told you the truth."Her voice was trembling and strained with emotion. He hated prodding this out of her. He could only imagine the type of pain it was to relive any of the memories she must've had, but he had to know. It was the only way him and the Pack could help her at all.

"Try me." He answered. She gave him a dubious look. "Trust me when I say, that if I were to tell you, you'd think I was certifiably insane." He laughed. "I think you'd be surprised, Enna. All of us handle weird very well. I doubt we'd think you're crazy." She lifted an eyebrow in response. "Prove it." He smirked and leaned in towards her saying cheekily, "I don't think you can handle it." Instantly, Enna's cheeks turned bright pink. He laughed a little thinking how adorable she looked. "You... you all seem different than other people. I don't know if maybe I just haven't been out much for the past few weeks or if it's true, but there's something.... really different about you and your family."

"What do you mean?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he stopped mid-step. She took it to mean that he was offended and quickly quipped, "No no! It's not a bad thing! But I... I just noticed that you all have the same tattoo on your shoulder." Unknowingly, Jacob reached his hand up and rubbed at the mark over his shirt. She was very observant. And if she indeed has been around vampires for a period of time, which he was about 100% sure, he figured that maybe werewolves wouldn't be so strange of a concept for her.

He thought for a moment and said, "I actually think I should show you something..." She cocked her eyebrow at him and pursed her lips."What is it?" "It's...difficult to explain." "Is it a trick?" "No... more of a talent. A gift, I guess. But it might scare you...."Her body stiffened, and he grabbed her hand gently giving it a soft squeeze to reassure her. "I promise, Enna, none of us would ever hurt you.Trust me, okay?" She nodded stiffly and swallowed.

He took a deep breath before he focused on phasing. It was a little more difficult to do it in front of someone who had never seen him before, especially in front of Enna but slowly he felt his body morph and transform, his senses heighten, his clothes disappear....
He stood on all fours before her, and gazed at her with his big, golden brown wolf eyes. She stood absolutely still, her jade eyes wide with shock and her breathing came to a halt. However, she didn't move away. Jake bowed his head before he took a step and made sure his movements were slow and soft. She didn't stepback and when he was finally in front of her.He nuzzled his head against her knee and made a low, humming sound. He saw her hold her hand out to him, to try to touch him but stopped mid-air in trepidation. Jake helped her out by reaching his head towards her and nudging her hand with his head. She smiled down at him and all of a sudden start laughing.

He had never heard her laugh the entire time she was here. It was pure and clear, like the sound ofthe bell in a church yard. It was infectious to him and he never wanted it to end.He wanted to make sure that she had many more moments of laughter since it seemed like it had been so long since she could.
"This is impossible...." she murmured as she continued stroking his fur. His humming turned into a low, husky, purr-like sound. He relished the feel of her hands on him. Her mouth curved into a graceful smile, and he found that even in his wolf form, she still had an effect on him. "I had no idea... but now it makes sense." She seemed to be talking to herself but he didn't mind. He decided to try something, and jumped up licking her face. This caught her off guard and she let out a squeal, chastising Jake. "Gross Jacob!!!! Ewww!" He let out a soft bark and she laughed again.
He went behind a tree he marked as his own and found his secret stash of shorts and tennis shoes that he hid. After phasing back and changing hecame out and shoved his hands in his pockets awkwardly. They both continued walking, both unsure of what to say after what happened.

Finally, Jacob broke the silence that settled in. "So... I showed you my secret. Do you wanna tell me yours?" Instantly, she froze, her stare focused on the ground. Jacob berated himself for saying that. He felt like such a jerk all of a sudden.

"Enna, I'm sorry, I didn't--" "No no. It's fine Jacob... you and everyone else deserves to know. I mean, I am staying with you all. It's not fair for me to be keeping secrets..." Her gaze directed towards him and he saw her eyes flooding with tears. He wished that there was some way for him to comfort her, but he didn't know what to do. "I don't wanna make you talk about it Enna, if you don't want to." "It has to be said sooner or later... it's just... it's a long story."

"Well, I'm listening." He grabbed her hand again and rubbed his thumb gently across her palm trying to soothe her. She took a shaky breath and said unsteadily, "We should probably sit down for this then."
