Kissing You Goodbye (Jeph Howard One Shot)

Okay so I'm leaning over back on the Jeph side, who was the first guy I really "liked" in The Used before I went all in love with Bert McCracken crying at night. So this is kind o a tribute to my first Used guy... as weird as that sounds! :) And no! My name's Lexi I'm just practically obsessed with the name Lindsay! :X

"No," he said, feeling tears well up in his eyes. "I'm not saying goodbye."

He never cried, not like this and not in front of anyone else, either. A lot of bad things have happened to him in his life as Jeph Howard and she, Lindsay, made up for all of that. She was one more thing he couldn't let go wrong... one more thing he couldn't lose.

"Just go!" she screamed at him, tears pouring from her hazel, yes hazel, eyes, onto her extremely pale face.

"No!" he yelled back, full- on crying now too. "I can't!"

She promised him she would never leave him. She promised him she'd always be happy by his side. She promised him he was her everything and then some. But, of course, he figured it must've been something he's done for she is perfection and he was stupid to even consider the fact of her being his forever. He's lucky he had her this long. But what went wrong down the road?

She went on tour with him, smiled with him, andmade him feel like he was the king of eternal life. Their life was great together. Their sex life was great together too. They fit hand in hand. They were meant for each other. They were perfect for each other. They were all the fates would allow.

But what went wrong down the road... causing Lindsay to stir away from her love?

Well, truth is, she decided she wanted to be on her own. One lonely day, she began to think of her past and who it's made her today. Unhappy with this person, she decided Jeph was too good for her and they must part ways immediately. The longer he stayed, the harder it'd be for her to get over him once he left (which is something they always did.) It wasn't that alone though, no. Lindsay's abusive "step father" was coming out of her past and into her future. Somehow he got her number and was sending her harrassing phone calls and text messages. Somehow he got her address, where he'd send gory imagery of what she perceived to be murder scenes. Yes, of course, she could tell Jeph. They told each other everything and he knew about her "step father." But why would she want to upset him? Her step father, Joey, was threatening Jeph without him even knowing! And Lindsay could not deal with herself if Jeph got hurt and meanwhile she could've prevented it.

"Just go!" she screamed even louder.

"No! I can't!" but he over powered her with his yelling. "I can't leave you! Not you! Anything but that! Too many good things in my life have left me! I can't have the best thing go! I promise I'll change if you want me to! I'll do anything you want me to! I'll do anything to make you happy! Do you want me to quit the band? Do you want me to cut off my social life? Do you want me to dye my hair? Lose weight? Gain muscle? What? What is it? Tell me and I'd do anything for you!"

By now he had dropped to his knees in the brightly lit kitchen to the wite and blue flower tiled floor. His head was in his strong man hands, crying hysterically. Lindsay, by now, had calmed down, realizing what was going on.

"Don't you see I'd die for you?" he mumbled against his hands and in between cries.

Lindsay took a careless, yet cautious step forward.

"I don't want you to quit the band." she said, in almost a whining tone.

"Then what is it?" he looked up now. "What do want me to do?"

Jeph's hysterical crying stayed it's insane level for a silent while. Lindsay's part was the only silent one. Jeph's crying was louder than anything, even Jackass coming from the plasma screen Hi- Definition T.V. in the living room, in the next room, on full blasted, high volume.

Lindsay's eyebrows turned to curves slightly, as she bent down in front of Jepha Howard, placing her faces gently on his muscular shoulders.

"Baby, it's not you." she said, in a soothing, natural voice.

Ding! Ding!

Just then, the doorbell rang. Lindsay got up and made her way to the exit of the kitchen to get the door. Jeph sighed at the interruption.

Click.

He heard the door open.

Click.

He heard the door shut.

Then, Lindsay came practically running into the kitchen. She grabbed Jeph's hand frantically and his other wrist and ran upstairs with him close behind. He'd calmed down a little little bit by now and wondered concerned what was going on.

"What is it?" he said.

She shut their master bedroom door and ran over to get the phone, dialing '0' for her and Jeph's security to assist with them.

"Who was it?" he whispered, right after she shushed him.

"Joey!" Lindsay whispered back.

"Joey? Joey who?" Jeph asked.

"Joey Catalano!" Lindsay said, in a hushed tone.

Jeph knew then but he was ready to battle if Joey would come in the room. Lindsay finished her call to the security and soon, Joey, was captive.

They were safe.

Right after the whole ordeal and assisting cops in filling out the police report form, Jeph and Lindsay lay down in their bed, under the covers, ready to go to sleep. But, of course, Jeph with his somehow -and miraculously- innocent dark eyes, looked to Lindsay for more answers. She told him first about Joey but Jeph informed her he was rather talking about why she wants him to leave her house and "stay out of her life," like she put it, so bad. She told him... the truth about how she thought she didn't deserve him and didn't want him to get hurt by Joey, which was something they still worried about because there was no telling about Crazy Joey's future and how quickly he'd get out of jail. And after he assured her it was him who didn't deserve her but wanted her anyway and how Joey would never come between them again, he sealed the deal with a soft, meaningful kiss... probably the best one she's ever got. And then after that kissy kiss, he assured her that wasn't a kiss goodbye because he said, "I'm not kissing you goodbye..."
