Despite the city becoming bigger and building its nightlife more for tourists, New York is still packed to the brim with plenty of nightlife for locals and travelers. Many of the most famous Jazz musicians made their name in NYC and as such it is pretty famous for this genre of music. New York also has some of the hottest and most exclusive dance clubs in the world. There are plenty of lounge bars where you can just sit back, relax and enjoy a drink while chilling out to music. If you want to spend the night laughing then you can head to one of the countless comedy clubs where famous comedians frequent the stages, or perhaps you could catch a show on Broadway or a concert from one of your favorite musicians.
My friends and I thought we would spend a long weekend in New York, so after arriving on Friday evening at the hotel we decided to get the weekend started with a bang, we had heard of a night club called 'Ace Of Clubs' so thought we would go there. It did not seem to be what we were looking for. The drinks were expensive and the music was to loud. We quickly made our exit and headed back to the hotel to find somewhere else to go for the night.
Asking for help at the front desk we were told to take a look at 'ploose', which turned out to be a NYC nightclubs directory. When we typed in New York City nightclubs and it showed us a bunch on the map. There was one pretty close to our hotel which apparently had drink specials on at that moment so we decided to head there. We watched a couple of videos tours so we knew what to expect and when we got there it was exactly like they showed on ploose. We started the night off with some 'grey goose' and ended up having a wonderful time. "The Pink Elephant was the name of the nightclub. After an eventful night we went back to the hotel to sleep.
The next day was consumed by us being classic tourists, we wandered around Manhattan, eat in a few restaurants at random, headed to 5th avenue and eventually got back to our hotel as night rolled in completely burnt out. We checked out ploose again for something a bit more relaxed and located a nice lounge bar that wasn't too far from our hotel. The lounge bar is named 'Sapphire Lounge'. It was almost like having a party in your living room it was so classy. It even had gorgeous red curtains to help create the mood. There was this hip DJ there playing some house music and the prices were very reasonable. We highly recommend it.
When Sunday turned up we were interested in finding a good sports bar to watch the Football in, so once again we took advantage of 'ploose'. It seemed to recommend we go to 'Proof NYC' so we headed there and boy were we happy we did. There is a HUGE TV that is 8 feet long--that TV was no joke. The bar itself was nicely decorated with comfortable hardwood floors and a gorgeous scarlet color on the walls. The beer were on sale that day so we lucked out. We ordered some food and sipped our drinks enjoying the last day in New York City.
We didn't want to call our last night in NYC and end too soon so we went to 'Blue Note' a pretty popular Jazz bar to finish the night. As a big fan of Jazz I can say I was hugely impressed, it's the best Jazz bar I have ever been in and if you also like Jazz then missing out on this place if you are ever in NYC is a criminal offense. It was about half full but there was still plenty of room, it is decorated beautifully and the musicians were some of the best.
In summary, New York City has a VERY wide selection of entertainment selections to offer. When we go back to NYC we are going to check out the Opera and Broadway and will let you know the best.
Have a great time in NYC and stay safe.
