(15)Harry Potter and the Willow's Thorn: Contemplating

Created by KawaiiSakura123 on Friday, March 17, 2006

Okay, so the dream has been on my mind for the past week or so, and it's driving me CRAZY!! I don't want to tell the guys in case they think I've gone mad or something. Even worse, they might go all sympathetic on me! And all the wierd stuff that keeps happening to me...thats creeping me out a bit too...maybe its just a...magical fluctuation. Yeah that'll do. An overspill of magic, and it releases itself-oh who am I kidding?!

Fine. I'm not going to blank you out any more, as it's not really your fault all of this wierd stuff is happening. Hmm... bah. 'Mione's yelling at me to get some homework done. I've had about three more detentions since Snape's, all because I'm behind on homework. Boo frickety hoo! So I didn't do the homework. I can't really can I? 'Cos I dont go home to do it! Anyway, they can see my progress in class can't they?
I never told you what went on in Snappy's detention, did I? Well, nothing much. Cleaning out spare cauldrons and organizing his pickled...stuff. Eew. I don't really want to concentrate on what I had to look at, so you'll excuse me if I dont go into detail.

Ugh...Herbology. And it's winter! 1st of December and it's cold and WEEETTTT!!! Lovely.
"Be careful with these Dragonsnaps, you can get quite a nasty burn off of them, and if not that, a nip on the finger!" Professor Sprout's voice echoed down Greenhouse 3. I'd only just arrived and I was already sweaty and muddy! It didn't really help that Harry and Ron came up with the bright idea to leap on me and push me into the mud...
"Now, I'm just going to get some fertiliser from G3, so I'm trusting you to be sensible!" she called, before slipping out through the door, sending a gust of cold air into the lovely warm greenhouse.
I looked at my Herbology project. It was a small scarlet plant, similar in looks to a Venus Fly Trap, and it was no more than two inches tall. How could this harm me? I thought. Aah, remember, never judge a book by its cover! the little voice in my head whispered. I raised an eyebrow at my plant disbelivingly, and prodded it with my wand. Instantly the small flower began to smoke, and I immediately realised what was going to happen. I ducked, and not a moment too soon. A jet of fire flew over my head.
I got up, only to see Harry a few tables down from me, holding his wand like a conductors baton, floating a Dragonsnap over to me. I screamed and dodged andother jet of fire, only to bang into Herm, who also fell, dropping her wand. It landed with a bang, sending what looked like a stunning spell up onto the glass ceiling, at which point it ricocheted off and hit Ron's Plant, making it explode. This caused a chain reaction with all of the other plants nearby, and soon the room was full of small explosions. All this chaos, caused by me. Oops.
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF MERLIN HAPPENED HERE?!?!?!" Professor Sprout screeched. I shot an accusing glare at Harry. I had hoped Sprout wouldn't notice, but she did. Whoops.
She stormed over to us.
"POTTER! Are you responsible for this?!" she screeched. Harry glared at me. I decided to have the decency to look ashamed. For a second, Harry looked as though he was considering denying, but then he sighed and nodded.
"Yes Professor, sorry Professor." he mumbled.
"Well, I'm impressed that you had the courage to own up and apologise, but this mess cannot go unnoticed!" Harry nodded. "Detention. You will come here every break until this is all fixed. Understood?" More nodding.
I felt bad. I mean, it was my fault Harry got found out. I could feel my hair turning blue, which I quickly stopped.
"Professor, can I have a detention too?" I chirped. Everyone in Greenhouse 4 looked at me in amazement. Even Harry took his eyes off of his feet to glance at me. It was an odd glance, a mixture of hope, and...what? I dunno.
"Whatever for, Miss Wood?"
"Well...umm..." I hadn't really thought this through. "It's REALLY cold outside! And it's so warm in here..." Harry turned to whisper to Ron, a look of...disgust on his face? Betrayal? A mixture between the two. "The greenhouse would get cleaned up quicker with two people too!" I added quickly. Harry rolled his eyes. I don't even know why I'm trying to stop him being mad at me...
"No then. It's not fair on the others if you are allowed to stay in the warm."
"Oh Professor! You suck big time!" I moaned. I could see Sprout turning red with anger.
"How dare you speak to a member of staff like that!! Detention for you Miss Wood!" I grinned.
"Thanks much Professor! I knew you'd come round eventually!" Sprout looked confused for a while before frowning at me.
"Why you little...look, just get out! Class dismissed!"

Eheheheh....
Midnight, and I'm still up drawing. Yeah, I forgot about that too. My most treasured posession. My notepad in which I draw. There's a charm on it so that I can never run out of pages. Good eh?
I can hear someone coming.
Just Harry. He looks like he had a bad dream or something, his hair's extra messy, and there's dark circles under his eyes. I just kept drawing. He's probably only here for a drink. There's a jug of water by the window.
He's not.
"I can't believe you did that!" he said. Angry tones in his voice. Damn. "You sold me out!" I looked up at him and gave him my coldest glare, reserved for only my sourest moods.
"Well, I did ask for a detention too, you know!"
"Only for the stupid reason of "staying warm"! You couldn't even own up to the fact it was your fault!" he shouted. I frowned. Not at him, just a sort of thinking frown. Also, to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. That had been added to my list of worries, the fact that it was all my fault, and Harry was getting the blame. But it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't sent that plant at you! the voice reasoned. I sniffed. I then mentally kicked myself for sniffing. It showed I was upset, and that showed weakness.
"I know." I mumbled miserably. The sofa I was sitting on creaked as Harry sat down next to me.
"Sorry." He said, in a slightly shocked voice. Personally, I don't think he was expecting me to get upset. I've built this image of big tough Rose with steel thorns. Nothing gets through to her, and yet here she is sitting on a sofa looking miserable. I sniffed again. Another reason why I hate crying. Runny noses.
"'S'ok." I stared at a hole in one of the old cushions for a while, before looking at Harry. I noticed he wasn't in any form of pyjamas, he was still fully dressed. He hadn't been sleeping then. I kept staring, thinking, contemplating. I swallowed.
"Well, I'd better be getting to bed. Art, you know. Keeps me up if I get an idea, and I don't want to be sleeping in a lesson." I said, getting up. I laughed nervously. More of a giggle.
Oh God, what was I doing?! A giggle?! I then ran up the stairs to the girls dorms, changed at top speed and slipped into bed. Just before I fell asleep, one thought was running around my mind: I can't like him, it's too wierd....
OoooOOoohhH!!!!! Rose fancies Harry, doesn't she??
