I Pity Any Girl That Isn’t Me Tonight…{Draco Malfoy One-Shot for arabbeauty}

I pulled on my fishnet tights over my long tanned legs, careful of not causing snags in them. I hiked them up and slowly walked over to my closet. I saw the silky material waiting there for me, glistening in the light of the room. I let my hand float across it. The fabric slid against my skin with ease. I smiled and pulled the dress out. I took it toward the full length mirror and held it up to my slender body. The bright aquamarine blue making my skin glow and my hair look like silver. I could see my lips curve up into a smile. I gently pulled it off the hanger and slid myself into it. The soft fabric touching my skin gave me goosebumps. I gently laced up the back, the middle tightening around my tiny waist. I smiled as the dress fell effortlessly over my curves. I smiled happily and floated my way over to the closet. I picked up my silver stilettos and placed them gingerly on my pedicured feet. I heard a soft tapping on my window. I turned my head; my long silver hair fell into my heavily make-upped diamond colored eyes. I saw an owl standing in the open window. I walked over, careful not to trip over my dress. I grabbed the envelope in the black owl’s mouth. I narrowed my eyes.

“Who is sending me a letter now?” I said out loud, not really talking to anyone. I saw the messy writing on the front. “Evie” it said in large letters. I slid my finger under the flap and opened it. I lifted out a torn piece of parchment. The letter looked thrown together quickly. I let my eyes float over the words that were sloppily written on it. I felt a pang in my stomach. I read it again. “Evie, I’m sorry for the really late notice, but I can’t take you to the dance. Something came up and I’m not going to be able to make it. I hope this owl makes it in time for you to find someone else. Sorry again, Oliver Wood.” I felt my heart drop as I let the letter hit the floor. I felt tears brim my eyes as I thought of the letter again. How could he do this to me? It was the night of the Yule Ball, the biggest dance ever. I knew that I shouldn’t have trusted him. I closed my eyes and wiped away my tears, mascara staining my fingers. I slid down the wall behind me, my butt hitting the floor with a thud. What was I going to do now? The dance was in an hour. There was no way I could find another date at this time. I don’t even know what to do. I heard the door open slowly. I wiped my eyes again. I saw Hermione make her way in. She had a nervous look on her face as she sighed. She looked over at me, her face fell.

“Oh Merlin Evie, what’s wrong?” I sighed, my breath faltering as the tears began to fall again. She sat down beside me and wiped away my tears. I looked at her. I picked up the note that was on the dusty floor and handed it to her. She looked at it. “What’s this?”

“Just read it.” I said to her in a whisper. She let her eyes gaze at it, her face becoming enraged as she got to the bottom. She gasped and looked at me.

“What! How could he do this!” She got up and paced the floor. “He promised. I knew he was untrustworthy. And all the offers you had too! I can’t believe him.” She ripped up the paper and threw it in the air. She sighed and looked at me. “You’re still going.” I looked up at her. I shook my head.

“I can’t. Not by myself.” She came over and grabbed my arm. She lifted me up onto my feet.

“Yes you are. You are better than him. I’m sure there are a lot of single men that need a hot date, and what hotter date can they get besides you? You’re going.” I smiled and wiped my face. I went over to the mirror and saw my tear stained face.

“I look a mess Herms.” She smiled and came up behind me.

“Even on your worse days, you look beautiful.” I smiled and took out my makeup bag. “Besides, I happen to know that a certain blonde hottie is going be there.” I snapped my head to her. She smirked.

“How did you know?” She chuckled.

“I’m your best friend dear, I know who you have a crush on.” My cheeks blushed lightly. I reapplied my eyeliner and put on some more foundation. I sighed and looked at Hermione. “You look perfect Ev.” I smiled and walked over to the door.

“Who needs a date when you look this good?” She laughed and nodded.

“That’s the Evie I know.” I smiled and made my way down the stairs.

“Oh by the way, what were you doing back up in the room?” She blushed.

“Oh, well. I uh, was nervous so I came back up to think things through.” I smiled at her. I put my arm around her small shoulders.

“You’re going to be fine Herms. You just have the most gorgeous quidditch player to go with.” She blushed even more. We walked to the Great Hall, where the dance was taking place. We stopped at the top of the stairs. Hermione looked at me.

“Well, I have to meet Viktor. Will you be okay?” I nodded.

“Yeah, I’ll just find myself a straggler and snatch him up.” She laughed and nodded. She put her hand on my arm.

“You look gorgeous Ev. Oliver doesn’t know what he’s missing.” I smiled and nodded, my stomach dropping a little bit. She made her way down the stairs; I saw all eyes on her. All the eyes except for a gray pair that I found were on me. I felt my heart race as I looked down at him; his handsome face had a smirk on it. I saw Pansy skip up beside him. She wrapped her around his waist. He didn’t seem to notice because his eyes were still glued to me. I bit my lip and looked down. I started my way down the stairs, taking each step slowly. I finally made it to the bottom. I looked back up and saw that Draco was gone. I turned my head and saw that the Champions were lined up. I looked down and saw Hermione. She waved nervously. I winked and gave her a thumbs up. She sighed and nodded. I made my way into the Great Hall quickly. I felt a rush of confidence overtake me as I walked in. I felt a couple eyes on me. I knew I looked good, I just felt weird because I was dateless. People knew I was bringing Wood, because they made a big deal about him coming back for the Ball. I made my way to the back of the crowd, making sure I wasn’t seen by many. I heard music begin to filter in around me. The doors opened and the Champions made their way in. I could barely see them because of everyone was standing in front of me. The music began to lift and I could see them start to dance. I smiled and made my way over to the tables. I sat in a seat, the leather of the seat cold against my skin, even through my dress. I could hear the music shift to some rock and roll type music. I could feel someone pulling on my arms. I looked up and saw the Weasley twins in front of me. They both smiled.

“What are you boys doing?” They both looked at each other and smiled.

“You looked lonely so we came to make you dance with us.” They said together. I smiled and followed them. They pulled me into the middle. I could feel warmth and sweat all around me. The twins began thrashing around, trying to dance. I smiled and followed their lead. We danced in the middle for what seemed like ever. I could feel a bit of sweat drip down my face. The music in the air changed softly into a slow romantic song. I felt awkward when all the couples around me grabbed their partners. I Turned around and started to walk back to my seat. I felt a hand grab my wrist gently. The touch of their skin on mine caused my spine to shiver. I shifted my eyes toward him.

“Can I have this dance?” He said, his voice made goosebumps spring up all over my body. I smiled and nodded. A grin came to his perfect lips. He pulled me into him and wrapped his arms around my waist. I couldn’t’ help but smile as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I had to almost stand on my tiptoes because he a was a good foot taller than me. The music echoed through the room as we stood there and swayed. I looked up at his face, his eyes glued to me.

“I thought you were here with Pansy.” His face scrunched up and he shook his head.

“No, she thought I was.” He looked around. “I came alone.” I nodded.

“Why?” He smiled.

"I had hopes that you were here."

I blushed.

“I did have a date.” He nodded.

“I know.” I looked up at him. He smirked. “News travels. Personally I’m glad that Wood bailed.” I tilted my head and raised my eyebrow at him. He smiled.

“And why’s that?”

“Because if he was here, I wouldn’t have gotten a chance to dance with you.” He pulled me closer to him, his intoxicating scent overtook my body. We danced slowly together, our bodies touching. The song ended and everyone clapped. Another song started, another slow one. Draco pulled back and looked at me, his eyes soft. “Evie.” I looked up at his face. “Can I ask you a question?” I nodded. “How come I always find you looking at me?” I blushed and looked down at the glittery floor. He chuckled.

“I um, I don’t know. I uh, just find myself doing it.” He smiled and pulled my chin up.

“It doesn’t have anything to do with the chance that you like me?” His voice was almost a whisper. I felt my heart pull.

“Why do you ask?” He leaned his head closer to mine. He put his lips on my ear, causing shivers to go everywhere.

“Because I like you.” My eyes widened and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach wreak havoc.

“What?” He blushed and nodded.

“Actually I’m in love with you Evie.” He smiled and traced my cheek with his finger. I couldn’t help but smile with happiness at those words. He loved me.

“Draco, do you know how long I’ve waited to hear those words from you?” He smiled and shook his head.

“Since second year, when we got put as Potions partners.” He laughed and pulled me against him. He lightly kissed my head. I wrapped my arms around his built chest.

“Good, because I love you and I don’t care what others will say and I don’t care about anything else than the fact that I love you Evie.” I smiled and looked up at his handsome face.

“I love you too Draco.” He grinned and softly placed his lips on mine. I felt my lips ignite as our skin touched. He pulled back and rested his forehead against mine. I laughed.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Because Draco, I pity any girl that isn’t me tonight.” He smiled and kissed my lips again. That’s when I knew that I was glad that Oliver ditched me, because I found someone much better, someone that loved me.
