[53] I can't resist. I want more than just a taste
so this is the first chapter of when i'm back...yeah...I collapsed on the floor and stared up at the figure that looked like Constantine.
“You bitch! What do you think you were trying to do?!” he shouted.
“What are you doing here? You shouldn’t have easily escaped.” Ezekiel growled.
“That doesn’t fucking matter! What were you doing to Mariam?!”
I stared up at them as they continued to argue. Is this really Constantine? Can I trust my eyes and believe that this is actually him? This isn’t some sort of delusional illusion that my mind has made up?
“Constantine?” I repeated.
He threw Ezekiel and he crashed into a tree and it collapsed along with him.
“Mariam.” Constantine said throwing his arms around me and pulling me into an embrace. “Mariam.” He kissed the top of my head.
“Constantine. Is this…real?” I asked crying.
“It’s real. I’m sorry for scaring you. I would never leave you. Ever.” He said pulling me and crashing our lips together.
I quickly responded and kissed him back with urgency. We tasted each other once again after so long, and he tasted so good. I missed his scent and his flavor, but I also tasted blood mixed in his mouth as well.
He didn’t dare to slow down our kiss and continued to lap his tongue against mine.
“Constantine.” I breathed, but he didn’t stop for breath and just pulled our lips back together.
“I want to continue…but I need to finish some business first.” He whispered after I was light headed.
Constantine was still holding me while he turned to Ezekiel.
“Dad, I was willing to listen to you this whole time, but this is crossing the line.” He growled. “I’ve told you a thousand times that I love Mariam, and yet, you’re trying to kill her! At least think about how I would feel!”
“You should know why I want to kill her. She’s a nuisance! She wasn’t even able to decide between you and that other boy!”
“Of course she couldn’t! You’re pressuring her in front of her friends! How could she answer a question like that? You don’t understand her like I do dad, so stop judging her so much!”
Ezekiel sighed and shook his head.
“Dad, I know. I understand that you’re just trying to protect me, but I’m not a kid anymore. I know that sometimes I’ll get hurt, and I have. But with Mariam, it’ll be worth getting hurt. I love her dad.” Constantine said softly.
“I love Constantine too!” I shouted making Constantine look at me. “I do love Constantine! And just so you know, I’m still a kid too! How am I supposed to understand feelings of love at this age? Even though I don’t have experience, I do know that I love Constantine the most in this whole world, and I’m not going to care about what you say!” I shouted, and Ezekiel shot me a look and I went back behind Constantine’s back.
Constantine laughed loudly and I looked at him. “So you’re finally admitting it huh?”
“What do you mean finally?” I asked.
“Constantine.” His dad said making our attention turn to him. “Do you seriously love her?”
“Yes.”
“But what will you do if she betrays you?”
“Even if she does, I’ll just punish her.” Constantine said with a dreamy face on and I blushed knowing exactly what he was thinking.
I smacked him on the head. “You nasty person! Don’t even think about it!”
“Hey, this is only if you betray me, like my dad said.” He nodded to Ezekiel.
“Then I’ll never betray you, simple as that.” I said making him smile.
Ezekiel stared at us and rolled his eyes. “This is what I hate about young couples. They’re so easy.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Constantine and I asked at the same time.
“Shut up, both of you.” He shouted. “I’m too old for this. Why am I fighting with a little girl in the first place?”
“Hey!” I shouted making Constantine chuckle.
Suddenly, Ezekiel disappeared. We immediately froze, but I felt something grasp onto me and I was pulled away from Constantine.
“Constantine!” I shouted and he turned around and stared at me with wide eyes as I landed in Ezekiel’s hands.
We were on a tree branch and he was holding my hands behind my back.
“I still don’t trust you.” Ezekiel whispered making me shiver. “I don’t want Con to be with you. I don’t want him to end up like me.”
I was shaking with anger and I decided to lift my foot up backwards and hit him right on the nuts. He doubled over and I kneed him on the face to send him flying off the branch and falling on the ground.
“I’m not a slut!!” I shouted at him. “I would never cheat on Constantine! You should be worried that he’ll cheat on me!”
“I would never cheat on you!” Constantine said incredulously.
I ignored him. “Fine then! If I ever cheat on Constantine, then you can come kill me! I won’t be bawling or struggling! I’ll let you slit my throat!” I shouted at Ezekiel.
He looked up at me. “Is that supposed to be a promise?”
“It’s a threat!” I shouted back.
“That doesn’t sound much like a threat.” Constantine muttered.
I broke off a piece of the bark from the tree and threw it at Constantine’s head to make him tilt to the side.
“What the hell was that for?!” he shouted.
“Shut up!” I yelled. “I’m not in the mood for your stupid remarks!”
Ezekiel stared at us with shock. “Is this…how your true relationship is?”
“Believe me dad, if you weren’t around it would be worse.” Constantine said plucking a piece of stray bark from his hair.
Ezekiel stared at him with horror. “Son, I didn’t know you were a masochist.”
“Dad! I’m not!” Constantine said shocked. “Why would you even think that?”
Ezekiel didn’t listen as he shivered. “My son is an M.”
“What’s that?” I asked having no idea what a masochist was.
“Nothing, nothing!” Constantine shouted quickly.
“Con, I feel like beating some sense into you…but then again you would enjoy that.” He said the last part to himself.
“Shut up dad! I already told you I’m not like that!”
I stared at them as they continued to argue back and forth between each other. I sighed and laughed to myself. This is nothing big at all. It’s simply a family quarrel.
“Enough dad!” Constantine finally shouted. “Let me get this through your head, I love Mariam. I’m not going to listen to you, and I’m not going to let you take her away from me. I’m gonna marry her for damn’s sake, and I’m not going to let you stop me! And I’m not a masochist!”
We were both shocked at his words. I was mostly shocked from the marriage part.
“Constantine…are you serious?” I asked with wide eyes.
“I’m serious. I’m going to propose as soon as I get my dad out of the way.” He growled at Ezekiel.
“Marry? Why so soon? You’re not ready for that yet!”
“Yes, I am dad. I’m going to prove to you that Mariam is the only one for me whether you like it or not!”
“Constantine…”
“No! I don’t care about what you’re doing to say.” He said like a child.
“Are you two done yet?” I asked still standing on the tree branch.
They both looked at me confused as I jumped from the tree branch. I walked over to Constantine and took his face in my hands.
“What are you talking about? What are you going to do if I tell you I won’t marry you?”
“What-?!” but Constantine interrupted Ezekiel.
“Then I won’t wait for you.” He smirked at me. “I’ll convince you.”
I laughed and brought his lips to mine. It was a sweet passionate kiss that lasted a few seconds and I felt him smile on my lips before I pulled back.
“Should I start convincing you right now?” he whispered suggestively grabbing my ass.
“Hey, your dad is still here.” Ezekiel said in a loud flat tone.
“Oh, sorry, I forgot about you.” Constantine rolled his eyes.
He sighed and simply groaned loudly. “Son, you piss me off so bad. I really do want to kill you.”
“Too bad, I won’t let you.” He stuck his tongue out.
Ezekiel groaned again and suddenly disappeared. We froze and when Ezekiel appeared in front of us, we couldn’t respond quickly enough.
Ezekiel threw a punch at Constantine’s gut and he was flown to crash into a tree. I looked at him shocked and Ezekiel rolled his shoulders and sighed.
“That felt good.” He said turning around.
“Wait…where are you going?!” I shouted.
He didn’t stop, but he turned his head to look at me from the corner of his eyes.
“I’ll be waiting until you slip, and then I’ll definitely hold it against you. Until then, I won’t bother you two. But expect an unexpected visit.” He said walking away and then he disappeared.
I stood there shocked. “Wait…that’s it?” I said.
Constantine sat up coughing and holding his stomach. “Gee, thanks for helping me Mariam.”
“But…your dad just…he…gone…” I blubbered pointing to where he left.
“He always does that. He comes and goes as he pleases. That’s one thing I hate about him.” Constantine said under his breath.
“So…what does that mean?” I asked Constantine.
“It means…we’re going to finally be left alone…for a long time.” he said wrapping his arms around me and breathing in my scent. “I missed you Mariam.”
I was just about to answer him as well, but he suddenly felt limp in my arms. I looked up at him and saw how he was pale and his eyes were starting to close.
“Constantine?” I said slightly shaking him.
He didn’t respond and he slipped off of me and fell on the ground unconscious.
“Constantine!” I shouted grabbing him.
