Sirius's Point of View
I leaned against the side of the train, bored as ever, waiting for the rest of the Mauraders to show up. This whole boarding part always seemed to take much too long for me. A waste of time. I'm an impatient sort of guy and prefer things to happen quickly. I toss my long hair out of my eyes. My mum always bothers me to cut it; she just doesn't understand.
"It's part of my mystique, Mum. The long, dark hair...it's my trademark. All the ladies love it."
"Well in that case, let it grow, you'll need a lot more to cover that big head of yours."
My mum...what a joker. Alright, I'm a tad bigheaded, but what can you expect? I'm a ladies man, I'm Gryffindor's most wanted! My little black book is bigger than most dictionaries! Alright, I think you get the picture. So, Mum, if I don't know what the ladies want, then no man does!
Speaking of ladies...
A group of giggling Ravenclaw girls passes me by, staring and whispering. One of the girls licks her lips at me.Hmm...Hayley Pattison...haven't had a go with her in a while...she's coming along quite nicely...
I've straightened up and I'm about to walk over to her, ready to make my move, when I'm practically tackled from behind. I groan...it's Wormtail. Mind you, he's a good ego boost when you need it, but a little overeager at times..."Hey Padfoot!" he squeals, then looks in the direction of my gaze. "So...you checking out that Hayley girl, huh? She's lookin' pretty good this year, eh? How long d'you think till you guys'll sha..."
"Geez, Wormtail, calm your hormones! These things happen in time, you know!" I'm grinning now. Wormtail isn't exactly popular with the ladies, so he practically lives on the details of my...relations. A bit gross if you ask me.
James comes strolling along casually, messing up his hair. "Padfoot!" he says, "How's it hanging? Little to the left?"
I chuckle. "Hey, Prongs! So, you see anything you like this year?"
He's staring off in the direction of a certain redheaded girl. "Only one..." he says quietly.
"Geez, James, when are you going to get over her? She's not gonna come around anytime soon. You guys are practically mortal enemies. Besides," I add, jabbing him with my elbow, "it's not like you haven't got your choice of ladies. Maybe a little something to take your mind off of her?" I'm saying this, of course, to try and cheer him up, but I already know how hes going to respond. He's been mad about Lily since first year, and no other girl will do.
I, on the other hand, prefer a little variety.
"Get real, Sirius! he says, "I know it's hard for you to understand, but...I know she's the only girl for me."Moony comes walking over, nose in a book. "Whatever you say, James," I say, and I walk over to greet him. But something stops me dead in my tracks.
A girl. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She's standing with her parents looking very dreamy, like she's lost in thought. I cant stop staring at her...why have I never seen her before...she's...
Get a grip, Sirius. She's a girl, just an ordinary girl. Keep your cool, and don't go falling all over yourself. Just plan your attempt like you usually do and then make a move.
As you see, I take this sort of thing very seriously. Persuing girls is like an art to me...one I have perfected...By this time, Lupin is beside me. He takes one look at my face, then immediately understands.
"Got your sights set on a new one?" he asks, sighing. He's never really been impressed with the way I treat girls.
"Who is she?" I ask breathlessly, then Moony looks at me strangely and I realize what I'm doing. I quickly regain my composure. "I mean, have you ever seen her before?"

"Can't say that I recognize her," he says, "maybe a new student?"
"Yeah, yeah that's probably it. Well, with any luck I'll get to know her a little better on the train, eh?" I'm back to my old self again.
"I'm sure you will, Sirius," he says with a tiny smile. And we meet up with the rest of the gang and stroll onto the train like Kings.
