High School Senior Sports Scholarships

Because of the time children spare for leisure activities such as sports, parents tend to judge them quickly for not focusing on their school subjects. This might be because academic performance-based scholarships, grants and awards provided to high school senior students are known to many people college scholarships. What is known less is scholarships or grants given to seniors based on their success in sports. Although many people either are not informed about them, or they overlook these scholarship programs, there is a wide diversity of grants available to high school seniors if they have been successful in sports. Grants vary depending on the field but finding financial help for almost all kinds of sports activities is not impossible. Of course, the chances are increased if the student has done a more professional job. One of the highly competitive scholarships that falls under this category is the American Legion Baseball Scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates should be part of a team affiliated with an American Legion Post and be able to provide references.
There are other baseball scholarships for high school seniors as well. The Dixie Boys Baseball Scholarship Program and the Dixie Youth Scholarship Program are some of the examples. These two programs aim to help students who are skilled in baseball and have high financial needs. Of course, an impressive academic background is a plus. Aside from baseball scholarships, senior high school students actively involved in harness racing can apply for a grant at The Harness Tracks of America Scholarship Fund. Skilled bowlers also get paid. Bowlers can ask for grants at the United States Bowling Congress. high school senior scholarships Some prominent schemes include The Annual Zeb Scholarship, Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow and Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarships. Seniors can also be chosen to Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team and win a $1,000 scholarship. High school senior girls can also enjoy scholarships which are only available for them. Womens Western Golf Foundation and United States Bowling Congress Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow Scholarship are two examples. A candidate is not required to show exemplary skills in golf to be awarded a grant from the Womens Western Golf Foundation, however, the candidate must be involved with the sport since it is an eligibility criteria. A candidate might get $2,000. On the other hand, with the USBC award a $6,000 funding is possible. It is also a smart move to check whether scholarships are granted to applicants who has plans to pursue a career in sports or not. Some grants only look for a background in a specific field of sports, while some require you to see it as your profession. Meeting this criterion might play the decisive role.
