Laem Singh Beach

Laem Singh Beach is located between Surin and Kamala beaches on the west coast of Phuket island in Thailand. As with all the beaches on the west coast, Laem Singh is an excellent place to enjoy watching the sunsets over the Andaman sea. Laem Singh Beach is easily accessable from the main road and many tourists arrive on package holidays on busses, or they may rent cars or motorbikes. If you are staying in a hotel in another area of Phuket you should consider renting out a car and taking a visit to Laem Singh Beach. It is my favourite Phuket beach by far, but that is just a personal preference.
Laem Singh Beach in Phuket is a great beach to visit in Phuket. It is one of my favourites and has a real charm. If you are lucky enough to find Laem Singh beach you will feel as if you have found somewhere secret. Laem Singh beach is only a small beach, around 170 metres long and fairly narrow at high tide. The beach is neatly set out with sunbeds and unbrellas but these are set out tastefully, different from the tatty rows of ubrellas you can find on Patong beach.
There are numerous water-sports to partake in. These range from pony-carts to water-skiing. You can take a day trip in a long-tail boat from Laem Sing out to the silands of Ko Chula and Ko Nom Sao. Long-tain boat drivers will usually charge you around 500 Baht to take you there and back, or may have an extra levy if you are a larger group. They may take you to some snorkelling spots or even to do some fishing.
The beach has many large rocks and boulders that give the beach some character. They are also good because they provide some shade from the scorching sun. This beach is surrounded by thick dense jungle which drops down to the beach-line. This makes it one of the idyllic tropical Thailand beaches you may have seen in postcards or on television. If this is your idea of a tropical paradise then take a visit even for a day, you will not be disappointed that you made the journey.
Laem Singh beach is a place where many locals come to celebrate Songkran. Songkran is the Thai new year festival which takes place every April. This is the lunar new year, so it is a really good time to come and play the famous Thailand “watersports”. This generally means throwing buckets of water over one-another or having water fights with water pistols, hose-pipes, bottles of water or whatever you can lay your hands on and use to get your friends (and strangers) soaking wet! Nobody can escape getting drenched in water at Songkran so you should carry your important belongings in a sealed plastic bag.
