A long and dreadful ten minutes went by which included me constantly biting my nails, Bill; tapping his foot nervously and Mum; breathing heavily and looking as she were on the verge of tears. The whole time Oliver sat next to me, gently rubbing his thumb over my hand, his face cold and pale as though he were trying to block out all dreadful events surrounding him. Harry, along with the other champions, had just entered the maze, leaving everyone else outside uninformed with only one thing to do; wait. A half an hour went by, signaling the first glimpse of something the audience had seen yet.
"Look at the sky," Katie yelled, "someone's in danger!"
I looked to the spot in which she was pointing and sure enough, there were red sparks dancing in the night sky. I silently prayed it wasn't Harry, and we all waited patiently as the champion was rescued by the witches and wizards patrolling the outside of the maze. After a short delay they were marching back with a shaky Fleur trembling beside them. They slowly sat her down next to her headmistress as Madam Pomfry ran towards her, prepared to work on all of her injuries. Everyone now sat tense in their seats, knowing the action was just beginning. A mere twenty minutes later, Victor Krum emerged looking confused and also shaken. At this point Hogwarts students had begun to go wild. No matter what, it would be a Hogwarts victory. Soon the excitement of this died down and we began to wait once more. Terrified and needing comfort, I several times turned to Oliver, giving him a big kiss and earning a disapproving look from mum. I noticed Bill give Oliver a silent thumbs up, causing me to roll my eyes and laugh.
"So," I said turning to Bill and Mum, a smug look on my face, "Do you aproove of my amazing boyfriend?"
Mum immediatly answered, a proud and humoured smile now plastered to her face, replacing the dissaprooving look she had been shooting at me.
"I must admit you two are wonderful together." She said patting Oliver's shoulder as she spoke.
I smiled genuinely and turned to Bill. He crookedly smiled and answered happily.
"Hell yeah! I've heard he's a wicked Quidditch player...though, I'll need proof of that!" he said laughing.
I laughed along with him and eventually turned my attention back towards the task. I constantly found myself struggling to keep my eyes open as we sat and waited for the unknown. Finally, sleep managed to overpower me and I rested my head on Oliver's shoulder, dosing off. What was promised to be a peaceful sleep turned into a nightmare however as I was awoken by a bloodcurdling scream. Followed by this was Harry yelling as if he were in pain. I looked up frantically and saw him below us, lying over Cedric's body, which appeared stiff and cold.
"HE'S BACK! VOLDEMORT'S BACK!" Harry yelled to nobody in particular, still clutching frantically onto Cedric's body.
The second this startling information was released the crowed went berserk. Some people screamed while other people simply broke into tears at the sight of Cedric's body. Realizing he was dead, water started to pour out my eyes also and Oliver held me close. I watched as everything around me became slow and blurry. I saw Cedric's family; rushing towards his body and faintly noticed Mad-Eye Moody dragging Harry into the castle. Still overwhelmed with tears, I thought nothing of it until ten minutes later when they still hadn't returned. Fearing the worst, I broke free of Oliver and began to push my way through the crowd to Dumbledore.
"Professor Dumbledore!" I yelled panicking as I neared him.
After a moment he tore his eyes away from Cedric's icy, helpless body to look at me.
"Yes, Miss.Weasley?" he said politely.
I stared in shock as I noticed his eyes were glistening with tears. Finally I recovered and remembered the urgent message I had come with.
"Professor Moody...he took Harry and they haven't come back!" I said frantically running my hands through my fiery hair.
After letting this strange news set in he nodded his head curtly and set off into the castle with Professor Snape and McGonagall at his heels. I sighed and slowly drifted back to Oliver, needing to be held in his warm, loving arms. When I reached him and he pulled me towards him, I smiled and allowed him to do so. I rested my head on his chest and eventually fell asleep in his arms, knowing I would always be safe with him. Before sleep had consumed me though, I enjoyed the ticklish feeling in my ear as Oliver leaned down to whisper in it.
"Sweet dreams, I love you."
