We finally made it to the bonfire and walked up there with our numerous marshmallow packets. The first person to come up to me was Josh who took the marshmallows from me, talk about a warm welcome. After that I just started walking around saying hi to everyone I saw.

I then saw some of the people who regularly sit in my section and we just talked about what we wanted to do for tomorrow’s game. They had suggested painting up and I said I would be able to do that after the first intermission since that was when we were performing and our dance coach gets pissed when we don’t look the way she wants us to, especially during performances. After that I just started walking around. I was close enough to the bonfire where I could cook myself a hot dog, but someone decided to cover my eyes meaning I had to play guess who.

So I started feeling around seeing if I could get something that would help me figure out who this person was. It didn’t really help since I was only able to feel their arms.

“Okay so I’m going to guess this is a guy due to the size of the arms.” They didn’t say anything. “Can you at least tap my head once if I’m right?” They tapped my head once. “Okay I’m not getting anything else so I’m just going to guess Brian?” The person let go of me and I turned around and instead of seeing Brian I saw Taylor. I started hugging him and we immediately pulled apart.

“I’m so glad you made it, especially since I realized the directions I gave you weren’t the greatest. So who else is here and where are they,” I asked him.

“Pretty much everyone you asked to come when you were on set is here, as well as Robert and I also think Kristen said she was coming but I’m not sure. As for where everyone is, your guess is as good as mine.” We laughed about that and then headed to where the hotdogs were. We grabbed one as well as a stick and then headed over to the bonfire and began cooking our hotdogs. Once they were done we got a hotdog bun and added whatever condiments we wanted. Taylor went to talk to some people while I went and sat on some log and began eating my hotdog.

While I was eating I kept looking around. Not only was I looking for Robert, but I was also looking for Kristen. Not to be mean, but she doesn’t really strike me as a bonfire type of girl or someone who would really want to hang out with a ton of people so why should she even come here. Then again when we came up with this whole bonfire thing we did say that it didn’t matter who came.

I was still thinking about this that I didn’t realize that someone had basically ripped off a piece of my hotdog until I looked down and noticed that some of it was gone. I then looked beside me and saw that Robert was chewing on something.

“Mr. Pattinson didn’t I say that eating someone else’s food is a federal offense,” I asked him trying to hold back a smile.

“You did and yet I still eat your food. This is one good hot dog, why don’t you make me another one.”

“Make your own.” I then finished the rest of my hot dog before I looked at him again. “It’s good to see you Robert. I honestly thought that you wouldn’t make it.” He then put his arm around me before saying anything.

“And miss you being thrown into the lake, I don’t think so. Besides I wasn’t going to miss the last time seeing you before I head out.”

“Aw that’s sweet,” we then started kissing each other but it didn’t last long due to my so-called friends. They all flashed their flashlights towards up and started whooping and hollering and saying things like yeah get some or aw look at the love birds. Once they said that we immediately pulled apart and I think that I started blushing.

“Wow Aubrey, I think this is the first time that I’ve seen you blush,” Robert told me and I just laid me head on his chest while he started laughing at me. We sat like this for a while until I realized what I was thinking about before Robert got here.

“Hey where’s Kristen,” I asked still having my head on Robert’s chest.

“I don’t know. The last time I saw her, she was with Dakota and I think they were talking to that guy you work with. Brad was his name right?

“Brian,” I said. Well if she’s with Brian then she’s okay. I then decided that I wanted a s’more. I then sat up and asked Robert if he wanted one as well. He agreed and we both got up and headed to the opposite side of the bonfire where the s’mores are.

“So wait we have to make these,” Robert said as I handed him a skewer and a marshmallow.

“Yeah, haven’t you ever made a s’more before?” He just looked at me. “You haven’t had you.”

“What hasn’t he done,” I looked to see Kristen and Dakota walk up.

“Robert’s never made a s’more before. Can you believe that?”

“No, I can’t,” Kristen said.

“Me either.” I then turned to Kristen and Dakota. “Are you guys making s’mores? There’s plenty to go around.”

“Yeah,” they both said and they started grabbing everything they needed and headed over to the bonfire. I was just thinking about how nice Kristen was to me. Ever since she told me she planned on getting Robert back she hasn’t necessary been nice to me. I wonder what’s changed her attitude towards me. Whatever it is I hope it continues.

So I look at back at Robert, “So are you ready to make your first s’more?” He just nodded and we grab everything we need and he follows my every move, making sure he didn’t mess up.

So the first thing we did was rip the graham crackers in half. While Robert ripped his perfectly mine took awhile to perfect. This caused Robert to laugh and after messing up about 5 graham crackers he decided to rip one for me. I thanked him while I ate the crackers I messed up. The next thing we did was grab our own chocolate bar and we just decided that we were going to share. Then it was time to roast the marshmallows. Most of the time, I like to cook two marshmallows and I was shocked when Robert decided to do the same thing. So we place our marshmallows on the skewers and place them over the bonfire. I told Robert that I like to cook them for a while so Robert could take his out before mine. He decided to do that and just watch me cook my marshmallows. I then pulled my skewer out of the fine and Robert started freaking out when he noticed that my marshmallows on fire but I told him that’s how I liked mine. So I blew out the mini fire that was on my marshmallows and then placed it on the other graham cracker, and pulled the skewer out. We then place the other graham cracker with the chocolate with the on top of the marshmallow and let it cool for a couple of minutes. After that we repeated the steps and placed all our s’mores on a plate, and then found a place on a log and were ready to eat.

“Wait, I have to take a picture of this,” I said as Robert was about to eat one of his s’mores.

“Are you serious?”

“Yes, this is one of those Kodak moments you have to capture. I’ll call it Robert’s first s’more, now smile.” He does and I also grab a s’more and we pretend to eat them as I’m taking the picture. We take about 5 pictures and after getting Robert’s approval I immediately post it to Twitter and make it my new profile picture on Facebook. After that we start eating our s’mores.

“So how are they,” I ask him.

“They’re great, who knew food this simple could taste so good,” I had to laugh. Just then Kristen came up and we made room for her on the log.

“So how do you like s’mores,” she asked him.

“They’re good, maybe we can convince craft services to make some.”

“Yeah maybe, you mind if I have one. My marshmallow was burned to a crisp.”

“Go ahead,” I said handing her the plate of s’mores.

“Wow these are good,” she said.

“The ones that aren’t burnt are the ones Robert made.”

“Well at least I know you can actually cook something,” she said which caused them both to laugh. I knew what they were talking about but I felt as though it was something between them so I didn’t join in on the laughter.

We all just started talking about their holiday plans and I was surprised to say it was fine. For once Kristen didn’t glare at me like I was beneath her and when I was talking to her it seemed like I was talking to one of my friends. I really didn’t want it to end. Sadly it did when one of the guys from my section Mike started his speech.

“Okay, so I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight. This is definitely the biggest turnout we’ve ever had, and I’d like to say thanks again for tolerating only having hot dogs and s’mores. Maybe next time we’ll spring for some real food.” That caused everyone to laugh and Mike continued his speech.

“So as everyone knows tomorrow our beloved Canucks will be playing the Maple Leafs,” which kind of got some boos. “Now I know Ryan and Josh are here and Megan you can tell Kesler and all the other players this but if you guys lose to them don’t come to any more bonfires. Still we want to give you all some good luck for tomorrow so Ryan and Josh come up here.” I looked around and saw Ryan and Josh walk up to Mike. “Now for everyone who is new to the bonfire we always have these the day before a big game just so we can get pumped up. Since we have two Canucks players with us they get the honors of burning the opposing team’s gear. So on the count of three you two will drop the stuff,” Mike said as he handed Josh and Ryan some Maple Leaf gear. We all counted to three and Ryan and Josh dropped the gear in the fire and we all just started cheering and taking pictures of the gear being burned.

“Now it’s probably everyone’s favorite part of the bonfire, throwing someone into the lake. Aubrey where are you.” Everyone started to point to where I was. “Come up here, I promise you’ll see your boyfriend again before the night is over.” I then get up from the log and head to where Mike is while also getting cheers along the way. “So Aubrey guess what,” he asks me.

“I’m not getting throw into the lake tonight,” I say and that causes everyone to laugh.

“No, but good try though. Actually tonight is the 6th month anniversary of you moving to Vancouver.” That causes everyone to cheer.

“Wow six months, it doesn’t feel that long.”

“I know, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say it’s amazing that you’ve lived here for six months and haven’t done anything stupid enough to get yourself deported,” everyone laughed in agreement.

“Well I know that all your lives would be boring without me in them.”

“Anyways we all thought that we should get you something as a way to celebrate and you can think of this as an early Christmas gift from all of us.” Just then Ryan and Josh came out with this big frame. Getting a closer look at it I saw that it was a collage of pictures of me and pretty much everyone attending the bonfire. Then I looked at Mike and I saw that he had this small book. I looked at some of the pages and pretty much everyone had signed the book. It kind of reminded me of a yearbook only instead of having a small space where you could write, everyone got a page where they could write. I almost started to cry it was so sweet.

“Aubrey, don’t get all emotional now.”

“I can’t help it, this is really sweet. I love you all.” That caused everyone to say aw.

“Now back to what we all came here for. Guys grab her,” Mike said and Ryan, Josh, and a few other guys picked me up and carried me over to the edge of the lake while everyone followed. “Since this is your sixth month anniversary of living here we thought you would be the perfect candidate for being thrown into the lake.” Just then everyone who bought a flashlight pointed it straight towards me so everyone else could take a picture.

Then they made sure to take everything from my pockets so nothing of value or importance could get wet. Then they took off my glasses. After that they started swinging me back and forth and that’s when everyone started counting. I looked around and I found Robert. I mouthed the words help me towards him, and he smile and mouthed I love you back to me. I was still looking at him that I didn’t realize I was tossed up in the air and then dropped back down into the water. Once I resurfaced everyone’s flashlight was still facing me so everyone could get a picture. Normally I would say something but I was too cold so I immediately headed back to the edge.

Once there I was glad that it was Robert who pulled me out and handed me a towel. “Alright everyone let’s leave these two alone,” Kristen said prompting Ryan and Josh to shoo everyone away. I would have never expected her to be the one to do that.

Robert then places his jacket around me. “T-t-thanks,” I say.

“No problem,” he says looking at me and then pulling me in closer to him so I could absorb some of his body heat.

“This feels nice.”

“I bet it does.” We then pull apart and I just look at him. “I’m really glad that I got to spend time with you today.”

“I am too, although it would have been nice not to be thrown in the lake.”

“Hey, it’s just because they love you.”

“I guess,” he then laughs and we just sit down looking out at the lake.

“I wish we could stay like this, just you and me, granted I don’t like the fact that you’re cold and freezing. Are you sure you don’t want me to spend the holidays with you.”

“No, you need to go home and see your family. Speaking of tell them I said hi.”

“I will,” he then looked at his clock. “Wow it’s pretty late, I guess we both should head home seeing as I have an early flight tomorrow.”

“And I have swim practice and my guppies’ swim meet tomorrow.” We both got up and just looked at each other. We then hugged each other and pulled apart and just looked at each other.

“Promise you’ll call me as soon as you make it back home,” I asked.

“I promise,” we then kissed each other one last time before heading back up, hand-in-hand, where everyone else was. It was then that we started telling everyone bye and I especially told Robert’s fellow cast mates that I was really happy they were able to make it and hoped they had a good time. After that I gave Robert one last kiss in front of everybody which caused everyone to cheer for us before he left with Kristen and the rest of his cast mates.

I then found Megan and Alexis and asked if they were ready to go, which they were. I told Mike that I was leaving but asked if he needed me to do anything else. He told me that I was free to go and that he would see me at the game tomorrow. So me, Alexis, and Megan all headed to my car. I then drove them both home and headed back to my place.

Once I was home I saw that Ryan and Josh were already asleep but they did place the huge collage up on my wall, as well as place the book everyone signed on my desk. I then took a nice warm shower, changed into some nice warm pajamas, talked to Robert one last time, and then placed my phone on its charger. I then decided to take a look at the book and was having a good time reading what everyone had written. After about reading what 10 people had said I decided it was time to sleep just thinking about how amazing my first 6 months living in Vancouver had been.
