Whoever invented sleeping in, is a genius in my mind. After two weeks of constantly being stressed out due to the holidays it feels nice to just sleep in. It feels so nice that I’m probably not going to wake up anytime soon.

“Aubrey, there is no possible way you are sleeping-in on Christmas. Get your butt up,” Ryan or Josh said I really couldn’t tell who said that. Still I didn’t move. After that I was constantly being hit by pillows so I decided to get up, and I just sat on my bed looking at them.

“Come on guys, you would think after the eventful day we had yesterday you would let me sleep,” I said.

Right after Ryan and Josh came back from their mini road trip I picked them up from the airport and we headed up to Whistler which was where we were spending Christmas. Once we got to our chalet, we changed and then just spent Christmas Eve snowboarding, riding snow mobiles, zip lining, and then going down the mountain on an inner tube. So you could understand why I would want to sleep in right?

“Not a chance Aubrey,” Ryan said.

“Besides who the hell wants to sleep in on Christmas. It’s just not normal,” Josh added.

“Fine,” I say and we all get up and head downstairs to our small little tree with all of gifts stacked one on top of another, which probably may have not been the smartest thing to do. We finally got to the living room and sat down. While Ryan and Josh were busy separating all of our gifts I was just looking at them.

You know how you look your worst as soon as you wake up? Well that’s what has happened to Ryan and Josh. Both of their hair is a mess and all over the place and you could tell they tired because the shirts they tried to put on were not only inside-out but were also backwards. Now this may not seem like a big deal, but to Ryan and Josh it is.

Still I don’t look any better. My hair is definitely all over the place because I didn’t braid it up and I slept in my glasses last night and now I have this imprint on my face of where my glasses are, not to mention I have that stuff you get in your eyes when you sleep and while this may be a first I think I drooled a little last night. Now while this may freak some people out, Ryan and Josh don’t really care seeing as all we tend to look like crap in the morning and are use to it.

They finally separated the gifts and we all sat near our respective pile just looking at each other. “So who wants to open their gifts first,” I asked.

“You do,” Ryan said.

“Why me?”

“Because you’re younger…”

“And shorter,” Josh said.

“And dumber…”

“Not to mention a whole lot uglier….”

“Hold on those are NOT good enough reasons. Besides it’s not my fault you two are just old dumb tall freaks of nature. Plus if I was ugly then why do I have guys wanting to get with me or why is Robert with me,” I asked them not really expecting them to reply as fast as they did.

“Those guys who want to be with you are drunk and don’t know what they’re thinking,” Josh said.

“And you’re pretty much Robert’s charity case,” Ryan says and they both start laughing and I just roll my eyes.

“You two are such jerks. It makes me just want to take your gifts from you and throw them off a mountain.”

“Please Aubrey, you love us too much to do that,” Ryan said coming up and hugging me. Then Josh comes in and joins in on the hugging.

“Besides we’ll be a whole lot nicer to you if you just open your gifts first,” Josh says still hugging me.

“Fine, but can you two get off me. You both stink,” I say and they laugh but finally get off me. And they start passing me my gifts.

So the first thing I open is from my parents. Now there is something you should know about my parents. They like to make us try to guess what our presents are. For example one year I wanted a bike for Christmas, like any other kid. Well they wrap a basket and a little horn as my present. As a 6-year-old I didn’t understand that those were clues to my real present which was in fact a bike.

So I open their gift and what do I see a mask. I’m not talking about a Halloween mask or a goalie mask; I’m talking a nice looking swimming/scuba mask. So I thought about it for a while but still didn’t get it. Ryan and Josh try to guess as well but they can’t seem to help me. So they hand me the other box my parents sent me and inside is a letter.

It said: Aubrey by now you’ve either figured out your present or you’re still stuck. If you’ve figured out your gift CONGRATULATIONS and you can stop reading, but if you haven’t keep reading. As you can tell I still had to read to find out my gift.

Seeing as we know you didn’t get it and you’re not the greatest at riddles like your brothers we’ll just come out and tell you your gift. That mask, as well as a new wetsuit that is in another box are all a part of your new scuba diving equipment that we bought you seeing as this summer you’re going to be spending a week scuba diving in VANUATU, diving through reefs, ship wrecks, caves, and the thing you’ve been talking about since you became a certified diver, The Coolidge. Merry Christmas Aubrey. Love mom and dad.

After I read that letter I opened up the rest of the boxes from my parents and indeed there was a new wetsuit, mask, fins, and snorkel, as well as a bunch of other things. After looking at all this I started crying.

“Aubrey what’s wrong,” Josh said.

“Yeah I thought you would love this stuff seeing as you’ve practically scuba dived all over the world” Ryan added.

“I have it’s just there sending me to Vanuatu which is one of the places I’ve always wanted to dive at ever since I became a certified scuba diver,” I said.

“Man, now this makes me want to learn to dive.”

“Sorry guys but the places I’m going to is for experienced divers only meaning you have to be certified in shipwreck diving, cave diving, deep diving, all that stuff.”

“Damn well Ryan I say we still learn so we can do some beginning stuff up here in Canada or in the States,” Josh said and that got me to laugh. Then I continued opening my gifts.

My brothers all got me plane tickets so I could come and visit them over the summer as well as some more sweaters since I didn’t really pack that many when I first moved to Vancouver, big mistake might I add seeing as Vancouver in the winter is FREEZING. Collin also got me some concert tickets to see OneRepublic and Gavin Degraw over the summer seeing as they are some of my favorite artists. I already knew what my grandparents got me since they told my Christmas gift was tickets to the NHL All-Star game in Raleigh this year.

My Texas friends all got me something that had to do with my beloved Dallas Stars seeing as I’m a huge fan of them and two of my good friends Vanessa and Tyrone also bought me a Blackhawks shirt just to remind me of what happened the dreadful event involving the Blackhawks that happened this past summer, but don’t worry you’ll hear about that soon enough.

As a joke Kesler got me his jersey and he even autographed it. I should also mention that he also got me this gift certificate to this cupcake place that I have become addicted to. Megan and Alexis got me some really nice jewelry since they said the little I owned didn’t do me justice.

Caleb got me his jersey, as well as the first three seasons of Cake Boss because I have become addicted to that show. In fact I have decided that Buddy is going to design my wedding cake, and my future husband will have to deal with that (seeing as I’m already starting to save money so I can have him make my cake). He also bought me a Cash Cab DVD but since this show is a favorite of both of ours we decided to start watching this show from the beginning meaning that as soon as I finish with the first season I have to buy the second season and quickly watch it and then send him the first two seasons and then he’ll buy/watch the third and send it to me and so on.

Now for what Ryan and Josh got me. They both chipped in and got me a gift certificate to the nicest spa and restaurant in all of Vancouver saying that since I put up them all this time that I deserve some sort of prize sine most people would have left after the first week. So I’m pretty sure you all really want to know what Robert gave me right. Because let’s face it you all only care for Robert and nobody else, and that includes me, just joking.

Anyways so one of the first things he bought me was a new flip camera since the one I had broke when I was trying to film Robert doing something stupid, he even made sure it was in a Texas Longhorns case. He also bought me this really nice designer watch to match his even though he knows both of us will probably wear it but never actually look down to see what time it is, but it’s the thought that counts. Another thing he bought me, which I thought was real sweet, was this bear with a white t-shirt, jeans, and shoes. Now you’re all thinking this really isn’t that great of a gift but it is. You see I told Robert that one thing I wanted to do before I die was go to Build-A-Bear and build my own bear seeing as I’ve never done it before (I know I’m pathetic). So Robert decided to build one for me and make it look like him. He even name him Wa-beart seeing as ever since he helped babysit the Marsh’s kids with me that’s what I’ve been calling him when we’re alone and he had to put the bear theme in the name. Still I thought it was sweet seeing as now I have a miniature stuffed animal version of him with me. The final thing he got me was the real nice diamond necklace. It had to be the most expensive thing I have ever had, and I decided that I wasn’t going to wear it unless he was the one that put it on for me.

So that was pretty much all I got and I have to say this might have to be the best Christmas ever. After I opened my gifts Ryan and Josh opened theirs and they seemed just as excited about what they got as I did. Plus they both freaked out over the gifts I got them. We then decided after breakfast that it was time to call all our families and friends to tell them how much we love our gifts. Once I called everyone it was time to call Robert, or rather Skype with him.

“Hey Robert, is it still Christmas over in London because I don’t want to sound like an idiot and tell you Merry Christmas when it isn’t.” He then laughed.

“Well hello to you too Aubrey, and yes it’s still Christmas here. London’s only 8 hours ahead.”

“Oh well MERRY CHRISTMAS ROBERT!!!”

“Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too. So did you like your gifts?”

“More like loved them.” I then hold up Wa-beart. “This has to be the cutest thing ever. I’m seriously about to post his birth certificate to Twitter and everything and the video I got with my new camera.” He laughed about that.

“That’s nice, what about the necklace?”

“I love that too, it’s just that I wanted you to put it on for me.”

“Well that I can do.”

“So did you like your gifts Robert?”

“Like them, I love them. Look at this necklace its amazing and when you wear yours then we’ll match. Plus how in the world were you able to find those records they are the rarest of records.”

“Oh I have my ways.”

“Well I have to say that has to be the best gift I have ever received. I can’t thank you enough for getting me these records. I love them.”

“You’re welcome Robert I’m just glad you like them.” We then continued to talk some more about the other things that we got for Christmas when Ryan and Josh came up to me with a huge package.

“Hey Robert,” Ryan and Josh said at the same time.

“Hey you two, what’s that package.”

“I don’t know, but it’s for Aubrey,” Josh says.

“Well open it; I want to see who’s sending you things.” I then get on the ground and open the package to see two little puppies (a Labrador Retriever and a Bernese Mountain Dog) just as happy as they can be. I then get them out of the box and place them on the floor and notice that both of them have one of their hind legs missing but I still loved them.

“Oh my gosh who would get me two adorable little puppies,” I said playing with them.

“Merry Christmas Aubrey,” Robert said which caused me to turn towards the laptop.

“Wait you got me these two dogs.”

“Yeah, I remember you telling the Marsh’s kids that you wanted a puppy. So I went to the local pound and saw these two dogs and knew they would be perfect for you. The only thing was I couldn’t choose just one so I got them both. Do you like them?”

“Of course I do. Look at these two. They are so cute,” I said while holding both of them as they started to lick my face.

“So what are you going to name them,” Robert asked me.

“Please don’t name them after any hockey players,” josh said.

“Agreed, you could just name them Ryan and Josh,” Ryan said while taking the Lab while Josh took the Bernese.”

“I wasn’t going to name them after hockey players and I’m definitely not naming them after you two. I think we’ll name the lab Trevor and the Bernese Tucker. What do you guys think,” I said.

“I like it,” Robert said.

“I do too,” Ryan said.

“There’s nothing wrong with brothers having their first names start with the same letter,” Josh added.

“What do you two think,” I said directing the question to the puppies and they seemed to bark in agreement. “Then it’s settled Trevor and Tucker welcome to the family,” I said giving both of them a kiss.

“Well I guess I should tell you that Trevor and Josh are fixed and have had all their shots but I still think you should take them to the vet just to be sure. I also got you some puppy toys, puppy food, and little beds for them to sleep in” Robert said.

“Okay, I will and thanks for all the puppy supplies.”

“Well I’ve got to head down for dinner. I hope you all have a great Christmas.”

“You too,” Ryan and Josh said still playing with my puppies.

“You too Robert and thanks for the gifts.”

“No problem. Love you Aubrey.”

“Love you too. Hey Trevor and Tucker, say bye to daddy,” they both barked which caused everyone to laugh.

“Bye,” with that he logged off. I then decided to take a picture with my two new puppies and then I posted the picture to Twitter. After that we just hung out with the puppies and had lunch. It was soon time for check-out so we got everything (including Trevor and Tucker) in the car, checked out, and then headed back home.

Once home we put everything up and I set up a spot in my room for my two new puppies. We then played some more before having dinner and after dinner I took the puppies outside so they could go, which I was glad they did. After that I brought the puppies back in my room and it seemed like they were tired so they immediately fell asleep in their little beds. I covered them up and hung out with Ryan and Josh for a little while before heading to my room to fall asleep thinking about the amazing Christmas I had this year.
