A/N: Well....I'm gonna try to get my wattpad uploads to the same chapter as on quizilla, so...if I don't post for a while, that's why...and don't tell me "continue to write!!" cuz this stories already completed, it just needs to be uploaded. So just calm yo'self for a bit. But I'd like to thank everyone that's messaged me about this story and my 'writing abilities'. *sigh* if only this romance could happen in real life...but it won't so I'll just go to school and stare at my crush for the whole finals day -.- Bye.

[41]-
“And ‘clean up kitchen’ to that list,” I laughed to Wes. We went to make food and it turned out, we made a big mess.

“I am not making that list longer,” Wes said, hanging his head as he trudged over to me. It was a pretty long list. I had to help him on what I could manage. He placed his hands on either side of me as I sat on the counter—still not yet his height. He leaned down to me though.

“You gonna help me with it?” he whispered.

“I’ll think about it,” I giggled as there was flour, or some powder in his hair. I ran my hands through it to shake it off. He searched my face and leaned in towards the side of my face; I thought he would kiss me, but he stopped, inches away and started to laugh. I laughed nervously cuz I didn’t know what he was thinking.

Then the kitchen’s back door opened and closed and Dane walked in. He sniffed the air, walked over, and then grabbed a cookie—one of various made foods. When he walked back past us, he stopped by me. He smirked and turned to face me. Suddenly, he leaned in like Wes and licked my cheek like some food was on it.

“Sweet,” he commented with a smirk as I wiped off my cheek from his saliva. Ugh. Gross. He turned to Wes before looking between us. “Wouldn’t want my brother to get suspicious.”

Wait what?

He left as he jogged up the stairs, but then came back down with a backpack and missing cookie and then out the door.

When it sank in, Wes started to freak out about the mess of the kitchen, so minutes later there was a sink full of bubbles and a sink full of water to clean dishes.

“Does a werewolf’s spit on your skin do anything?” I asked. I can still feel Dane on my cheek and it’s gross.

“Considering you and I have swapped spit quite a few times, I’m gonna have to say no,” he laughed. Right…I laughed as well. “Why would you ask that ridiculous question?”

“Cuz it’s like Dane’s spit is entering my skin and burning me!” I exaggerated. Wes turned to me and raised a hand to the cheek that Dane licked. With the soap on his hand, he started scrubbing on my face and a flinched away, but he struggled to keep cleaning me.

“Wes,” I laughed.

“I’m cleaning you,” he reasoned. I reached my hand into the water and splashed him. He paused, gave me a doubtful look, and then we started water fighting.

“Wait. Ow…ow…” I stopped. I wiped my left hand on Wes’ shirt and then rubbed my eye. He stopped. “I think you got soap in my eye.”

“Let me see,” he said. I opened my eye in a squint and he peered in it. Suddenly, I dipped my hands in the water and wiped it in his face. “Oh no you didn’t!”

“Yes I did!” I laughed as our fight continued. He started to tickle me and I sort of surrendered for the reaction, but he only cradled my hands between our chests and he hugged me into him by my waist. We laughed to each other and noticed the back door open and close.

“What. The. H3ll.”

We turned to see Chase and Kayla looking at our mess. Wes and I parted and laughed once.

“Blame Dane,” Wes said first.

“I leave you a few things to do, and I’m pretty sure destroying the kitchen wasn’t on it,” Chase scolded.

“Dude. We just had some fun,” Wes laughed. I noticed that Chase never once looked over at me directly…

“Well you’re job wasn’t to have fun; it was to get the work done,” Chase admonished.

“Well we had fun in the process,” Wes shrugged.

“You made a mess in the process,” Chase corrected. Geez…someone’s overreacting… “Get this cleaned up.”

“We were cleaning it up, but then your brother decided to lick Lili’s face and…I helped her clean it,” Wes explained, trying to keep a straight face. Chase’s composure changed, but he tried to prevent it and then took another look. Either way, his eyes were dark.

“Get it cleaned up and go into the office when you’re done,” Chase ordered before walking off with Kayla.

Wes laughed. I gave him a weird look.

“What?” I asked. His laugh was contagious as he turned to the sink and grabbed the towel to start cleaning the counter.

“It’s hilarious,” he answered.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“He’s mad,” Wes informed in a laugh. “He’s mad at the fact that you’re here with me and that Dane licked you.”

“Okay?” So what? Who cares if he’s mad?

“He’s jealous,” Wes clarified.

“Jealous?”

What the h3ll does he have to be jealous about? I wasn’t even doing anything and he had Kayla to fu** with !

“Dane’s scent is on you. It’s like a sign that says ‘I’ve been here’,” Wes notified. Like when a dog pees on a fire hydrant? Great. “Chase is jealous cuz he doesn’t want Dane’s scent on you. Cuz technically you’re his property.”

“I’m not anyone’s property,” I said first-off.

“Well you’re his soul mate, so technically—”

Technically, if I was his soul mate, we’d be together and wouldn’t be having this conversation,” I sang. Wes paused. “What?”

“Do you think about you and him being together?” Wes asked, interested. Yes.

“No,” I lied. He shuffled and we went back to cleaning.

I was on my way to walk to the office, hours later, I heard moaning and kissing noises when I got around Chase’s room. The door was open, so I took a deep breath and lined the wall.

“Babe,” Chase moaned, but I heard their lips smack into another kiss. They were breathing heavily and I didn’t want to imagine what they were doing in there. “Kayla.”

It pained me to hear him moan her name. Just like it hurt me even more to think that my soul mate was fu**ing someone other than me—not that I thought about us doing it…eh.

“Stop,” I heard Chase’s voice say in a breath. Stop? I heard them go back to kissing. “Kayla, stop.”

“Babe,” I heard Kayla squeal.

“I said stop,” Chase reminded.

“Why?” Kayla breathed as I heard their lips connect again.

“Because I said so,” Chase reasoned. There was a pause. “Kayla. I said stop.”

“What’s one more time?” Kayla asked. One more time they fu**? I was on the brink of breaking down. Why was it paining me so much to hear this and make assumptions?

Stop,” Chase moaned.

“No.”

“Kayla, stop. I don’t want to,” Chase said. I sighed of relief. I smiled on the inside even. Even though I hated it, I still liked Chase and something triggered inside of me when he was with someone else…was this jealousy that Wes was talking about?

“Why not?” Kayla asked, out of breath as she probably took him into another kiss.

“You know why,” Chase said quietly. Kayla let out a sarcastic laugh.

“You’re seriously deciding not to hook up with me for that?” she laughed. “This is just ridiculous.”

“Kayla, you know how this works,” he whispered.

“Oh yeah? Then why’d you get back with me then?” She asked. There was silence. “This can work out, if you want it to, Chase.”

“It’s never gonna work out—”

“Then how the h3ll is Wes in love with her, when he’s supposed to be with April?!” Kayla cut-off.

“And you think that’s working out!?” Chase rose his voice. “They’re not even together anymore. They didn’t even do anything at all when April was even here. Sure, he loves her, but that’s his feelings. I’m never gonna have those feelings for you. It is not gonna work out that way.”

I heard as she climbed off the bed, and I passed the room to at least act like I was casually walking.

“Well when you’re drunk, and fu** her and think later that it was a mistake, then don’t come back to me. And when you want to fu** her and her virgin a$$ denies you, you’ll be begging to be with me,” she shouted.

“No I won’t,” Chase muttered. “If she doesn’t want to have s3x with me, then I’ll wait until she does. If we’re ever together, there’s no way in h3ll that I’d even attempt to go back with you for that. You’re not worth it. My sister’s hatred towards us isn’t worth it.”

That was…romantic in a way?

“Well first of all, you need to get your priorities straight, Chase,” she said. “You either wanna be with her, or you don’t. You don’t get in between.”

“Well for right now, I am.”

“Well for right now, you’re single,” I heard Kayla say, breaking it off. Somehow I felt relieved? It was quiet. “And you’re serious.”

“Yeah. I’m serious,” Chase stated. Kayla scoffed and I didn’t have enough time to move down the hall before Kayla stormed out. I was about five feet away from the door with my back to them as I heard her heels click down the hall and stairs. Yes.

“I know you were listening,” a voice whispered to me as I was down the hall. Thinking it was Wes, I laughed lightly.

“Whatever—uh.”

It was clearly not Wes.

Chase stood above me with a neutral look and light brown and green eyes.

“I don’t get it,” I mumbled. His eyebrows combed together. “You’re happy about her dumping you.”

“I wouldn’t call it ‘dumping’—

“Dude. You got dumped,” I laughed. Did I seriously just laugh with the person that I should be hating right now? He shrugged.

“It doesn’t really matter,” he replied.

“Cuz you’re still happy,” I assumed. He sighed as he leaned on the wall. I did the same.

“My eyes change because of you,” he started. “The lighter my eyes get, is because of you. You make me happy.”

“And mad, and disappointed, and—”

“Trust me; you don’t,” he assured.

“If that was the truth, then your eyes wouldn’t always be dark,” I mumbled. He shifted positions to where I was between him and the wall and his arm created a bar on my right side as his left hand was on my waist.

“My eyes are dark when I’m mad at someone else, or myself…or if I’m jealous of you and someone else when…”

“When what?” I whispered. His light eyes flashed down to me.

“When I see that you’re happier with someone else and not me,” he answered, honestly.

“Chase, don’t—”

“I’m serious, Alicia,” he muttered. “As much as I hate it, I want you to be happy no matter what, even if it includes someone else making out with you like Wes…but it still pains me to see it…”

I took a deep breath in as I just turned to walk around him. He held me there.

“What’d I do?” he whispered.

“I don’t believe you,” I stated. He gave me a confused look. “On you…being jealous, or me making you happy. I don’t even believe you at the fact that we’re soul mates in the first place, honestly.”

“Why not?”

I scoffed.

“Because if we were, you’d know that making out with someone doesn’t make me happy; I’m happy all the time with just you when we’re not fighting and you’re not trying to honestly hate me,” I choked out.

“Alicia—” he addressed after moments of silence.

“Forget it,” I dismissed. He called out to me, but I walked away. I don’t know what it was, but I couldn’t deal with it anymore. Most girls would love for someone like Chase Cane to say this sh!t to them, but I wasn’t buying it. What I wanted to hear was why he decided to not want to be with me.

And the reason I wanted to hear that was because even though I hated this situation…he was my soul mate and I had a crush on him.

Maybe even a bigger crush then I had on Wes.

Sh!t.
