Now You See Me... Now You Don't.

"Tell me something..."
Kadaj looked over his shoulder at her, expression switching between curiosity and nervousness. Mizuki just knew what he was going to ask, but artfully kept up an innocent front.
"What is it, Kadaj?" she asked softly, blinking.
He took in a deep breath.
"Do you... Remember anything that happened last night?"
Her mask almost fell.
"Yeah. I didn't have anything to drink, but you guys did. Why?"
Her tone was kept level, with no traces of the laughter that was threatening to burst her at the seams.
"Well, I..." he faltered, turning around to face her.
"You...?" she prodded gently, gleefully.
He actually looked embarrassed!
"Y-Yazoo told me I stumbled into your room..."
Come now, she chanted to herself, you can do it...
"Hm? Oh, yeah." She said this as if it weren't anything big, and gave a dismissive wave of her hand. His jaw dropped.
"Well, did I...?"
She bobbed her head a little in confusion.
"Did you...?" she repeated, "You sure seem to be full of unfinished sentences, today."
He swallowed.
"Y-You know... Did I try anything?"
Her expression turned to one of comprehension.
"Oh. Well, I kicked you out before anything happened..." She took that off-handed tone again.
He sighed in relief.
"I'm glad I don't remember-"
"...I was changing into my nightclothes when it happened, so I slammed the door in your face." '
he stalked away, muttering under his breath.
Okay, that might not have been the nicest thing to do...
But it was better than telling him that he actually flopped onto her bed and curled up like a puppy, wasn't it?.....
