Far Away (the Original)

Okay, so I lied. I'm posting the original. If you still love this, I'm so happy but I may change a few things. Remember, her name is Kayla and she is a delinquent and she hates State Alchemists.

I got thrown down, hard.
"Keira-chan!" Macki yelled.
"Shut up, wench!" A guy named John said as he punched her.
"Chikusho..." I muttered, getting up. I was pretty bruised, so I got up slowly.
Kelsey, a girly-girl opponent, grabbed Macki's hair. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. I won't hesitate to kill her," She said, threatening.
I stopped what I was doing, fear of hurting Macki rushing through my mind.
"Don't worry about me, Kayla. Just go!" Macki yelled, fighting.
I glared at Kelsey, quickly running at her. She got ready for impact, but instead of going for her, I punched John while Macki elbowed her in the stomach.
Another boy named Chris attempted to jump her, as Kelsey had stumbled away. Before he could lay a hand on her, I jumped up, kicking him away and landing in front of her.
"You okay, Macki?" I asked her, worried. She nodded, and I looked back at them. The ones who were down were back up, and they were circling in front of Macki and I.
Macki grabbed my shoulder lightly, eyes dilated with fear. I glared at them, touching her hand softly before letting go.
'This is bad...They just keep getting up!' I thought, mentally panicked. I watched, as they got ready to attack us, unable to move.
"Are we too late?" I heard someone ask, a punching sound accenting it. I looked back and saw Kelsey down on the ground, with Misty standing over her. She grinned, and two more thuds were heard.
I looked back again to see Tenchi and Kyle standing over John and Chris.
"Sorry, we're a little late. We got held up at school. Which, we noticed, you skipped again, Kayla," Kyle said, raising a brow.
I smiled sheepishly. "Hehe, my bad..." I answered, rubbing my head.
Tenchi smirked. They then got up and ran.
Macki and I laughed, but I gasped as soon as the sound left my lips, falling to the ground. "Ah..." I moaned in pain.
"Kayla!" I heard them yell, their footsteps indicating that they were running to me. Macki sat beside me, rubbing my back in consolation. "I'm fine, really!" I said, standing up to show them....Only to fall back down again.
"Kuso! I hate when this happens..." I muttered, as Macki and Misty helped me up.

The next day, I had my right cheek adorned by a Mickey Mouse bandAid. My arm had a bandage running from my knuckles up to my elbow, stained pink with old blood. I kept my eyes closed, as I was getting used to the morning light.
"Tell me, what exactly is the point of going to school?" I asked, to no one in particular. Misty and Macki had arrived earlier, to escort- I mean, help me to school. We were standing outside, ready to leave.
"You're failing all your classes, Kayla. This isn't the first time, either! And the principle is always telling us, 'THIS IS KAYLA’S LAST WARNING!' We don't feel like taking the heat again. So, yeah..." Misty answered my rhetorical question.
I sighed in annoyance. "What a drag...I hate school," I muttered as I finished locking my door and was proceeding down the sidewalk.
"You're going whether you like it or not, you got that?" Macki told me, glaring.
I nodded, not really paying attention to her pointless threat.
When we got to school, we had P.E. first. Yes, in the morning, isn't it a drag? But even though we're supposed to, I never dress down. While the others started to, I walked out of the locker room to see three new students, a girl and two boys.
"Oh, you've decided to join us, Miss Kayla?" Mr. Iwomoto, the Physical Education teacher, said snidely.
I glared at him, hard. "You sicken me, Iwomoto," I spat, baiting him.
"You're the one who sickens me," He retorted back.
I scowled. "Feh...Whatever. I’m leaving," I grumbled, walking out of the gym.
"You get back here, Kayla!" he shouted after me.
"Go to hell!" I yelled back, turning a corner and sprinting up the stairs to the roof. I climbed up on the roof that covered the stairs and got comfortable. I sat 'Indian-style', and let my hair blow freely in the wind. 'Why come to a place where no one likes me?' I wondered. Shaking my head, I just stared out over the town...

An hour later, I woke up from having dozed off for the past half an hour.

"Hello? Is anybody up here?" A voice called out from below.

I sat up more and leaned over the side of the roof. It was one of the new kids from the gym, the elder boy, it looked like.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked him coldly.

He looked around, confused. "Eh?"

I rolled my eyes. "Up here, idiot."

He blinked, looking up, only to see me resting my chin on my hand and an annoyed look on my face.

"I'm Edward Elric. Mr. Iwomoto wanted me to look for you?" he answered unsurely.

"He can go fuck himself. He just wants me to get in trouble, and then get suspended. He can just shove it up his ass..." I smiled sinisterly. "But why do I tell you this? I don't even know you. You can't possibly be anyone important." I stood and jumped off the roof, landing like a cat. I stood back up, stretching my muscles. "Why the hell are you up here, anyway?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow.

"'Cause...The roof is open to students, and I was looking for you...Why do you ask, you're up here too!! Aren't you supposed to be in class?!" He asked, looking disgruntled.

"Feh...These classes are meaningless. I'm leaving," I said, walking past him to the door. "Tell Macki I left. You'll meet her; eventually." I went home, only to see that no one was there. "Figures," I grumbled. Sighing, I turned right around and began to walk aimlessly.

A few minutes into my stroll, and I was already surrounded by a group of kids from a different school. "Kuso, I should've known this was going to happen..." I mumbled. I got into fighting stance. As soon as one moved, I launched myself forward and began to fight just like Izumi-sensei had taught me.

At school, Edward had found Macki.

"Hey, are you Macki?" he asked, peering down at her; She was quite short.

"Un, that's me. Why do you ask? Am I needed?" she answered with a question.

"This girl was on top of the roof today, she told me to tell you that she left," he explained.

"NANI?!" she screeched, eyes wide. "How could she have left?! BAKA! Keira-chan no baka!!!!"

O_O Edward simply stood, shocked by her outburst.

She noticed, quickly bowing. "Gomen nasai. I'm afraid I must go get my friends. She must have gotten herself into another fight. You would do me a great favor, if you went after her. I understand if you don't; she doesn't make the best first impression..." She turned to walk away, before turning and rushing back to him. "Arigatou gozaimasu! It helps a lot that you told me this!" Standing on her tiptoes, she gave him a hug. Walking away backwards, she winked. "Chuu~!" With that, she turned and ran away.

'Going to find her friends?! That'll take forever! I'm going ahead...' He thought, shaking his head. He ran off, in search of the delinquent and special girl.
