Snoring is unpleasant presence that can cause sleep disorders that you and your partner. However, there is more to Snoring than simply noise can degrade the quality of the sleep of others. Snoring is the key symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea normally, it may be a sign that your brain is not getting enough oxygen, which has far more severe consequences that much more annoying voice. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is caused by the collapse of the soft tissues around the nasal passages and breathing during sleep, which leads to obstruction of the air flow and lack of oxygen intake. Snoring is only a symptom, and is caused by turbulence created when air passes through a narrow sector of the obstructed airway. It includes an array of other symptoms such as daytime sleepiness, irritability, excessive fatigue, low productivity, memory impairment, etc. If left untreated for a longer period of time, the chronic oxygen deficiency during sleep may cause anxiety, depression, hypertension and even brain damage. Although the snoring and obstructive sleep apnea is not lethal in any way, the consequences can be serious, to gradually reduce the quality of life and increase productivity considerably.

You can find a great variety of options to treat obstructive sleep apnea including sleep apnea surgery and certain breathing devices. One of the main goals is to take oxygen shortage, although the Elimination of Snoring is also an important priority. The options of treatment can be usually divided into two parts - invasive and non-invasive. Abstinence of alcohol is the first steps toward relieving snoring and improves the quality of sleep because alcohol relaxes the soft tissues and decreased muscle tone, causing airway collapse. A non-invasive treatment option involves wearing a (CPAP) Continuous Positive Airway Pressure mask, which is a device that forces the air through the collapsed passages using pressure during night's sleep and thus improves the oxygenation of the brain.

However, the device on a continuous basis should be used, and in contrast to the sleep apnea surgery, the results are temporary. Also, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure masks are large and cause some level of discomfort, which requires patience and training for preventing removing them at night. A more invasive, but more permanent treatment option for snoring is sleep apnea surgery. The goal is to attain a permanent structural and anatomical change of the nasal passages and airways to prevent obstruction from ever occurring. Sleep apnea surgery addresses the concerns of snoring, oxygen deficiency and sleeping discomfort by approaching the root of the problem rather than the symptoms temporarily to improve. Although sleep apnea surgery is a secure and successful procedure to improving snoring and get rid of your sleep apnea, yet certain associated risks and complications. That is why doctors usually recommend first trying less invasive treatment options and then will discuss the possibility of surgery for sleep apnea. In the hands of a skilled surgeon, sleep apnea surgery is a best and effective solution to the snoring problem if other treatment options have failed.

It is important to discuss with your doctor about your medical history and how it can affect your eligibi

lity for sleep apnea surgery.
