RUN! My brain was screaming at me to get out, go, as fast as I could. My legs weren't cooperating. I wanted nothing more than to run away, to go back to the life I had just a few days ago, everything I knew and missed. My heart ached for my friends. I longed to feel Lucas's arms around my waist, to hear Bri's laugh again.

The more I stood there and thought about it, the more I realized that it was hopeless. Even if I could make myself run, I had no idea where I was or how to get home. Even if I was somehow able to find my way back, both Desmond and my grandfather know where I live, and nobody would believe me enough to run away with me. Even if I could get Lucas and Bri to run with me, for all I know my grandfather could figure out where I was from my dreams. It would be challenge after challenge and the very thought exhausted me.

My stomach started to grumble and I decided to just turn back into the house and see what I could find for food. I made my way to where I remembered the kitchen being, and opened the fridge. I couldn't surpress the feeling that I would see pouches of blood all over the place, but I was wrong. It was a normal, fully stocked fridge. I suddenly had the urge to make a delicious, healthy meal.

I took out two chicken breasts, a head of broccoli, a head of cauliflower, and quite a few red skin potatoes. I then scrounged the kitchen for some pots, pans, and a steamer, all of which I was able to find. I had been making dinner for about half an hour when I heard the door open and shut, and foot steps nearing me.

Something smells delicious, Viv!” Desmond rounded the corner and looked shocked when he saw that it was me standing at the stove, looking back at him.

She left a little while ago, I was hungry.” I snapped, feeling offended for some reason that he wouldn't assume that I was the one cooking.

Well it smells great,” he responded hesitantly.

I made some for you too, if you want it, if not I'll just store it and eat it later,” I said quietly, suddenly feeling stupid for making him some as well.

I'm starving, what all did you make?” He asked, giving me a small, reassuring smile.

Chicken, steamed veggies, and fried potatoes.”

Sounds good, I'm going to go change and I'll be back down.”

Okay,” I said, turning around to grab a couple plates to start serving the food, then took them to the table in the dining room, along with two glasses of water.

When Desmond came back down, he had changed into a pair of shorts, and a polo which was hugging each and every one of his muscles. I could feel myself gawking, and snapped my mouth shut before sitting down and beginning to eat my meal silently. I couldn't stop my brain from flashing back to the dream I had been having earlier that morning.

This is really good,” Desmond stated in between bites.

Thank you,” I replied, feeling blood rush to my cheeks as he interupted my thoughts.

So tell me something,” he started, and I waited for him to say more but he never did.

Tell you what?” I asked, confused.

I don't know, anything. I want to know about you.” He looked up from his plate and I saw a flash of a mischevious twinkle in his eye.

I don't know... There isn't much to tell any more, I don't think anything is relevant. I'm 17 years old and I was snatched away from my life and in two months I'm being forced to marry someone I barely even know.” I couldn't help but snap. Nothing about me had been important in any of this. If I had been able to choose, I wouldn't be here now.

What's your favorite color? Favorite book, movie?” He said, trying to ignore my previous comment, but I could tell from the tone of his voice that he wasn't fully succeeding.

Green, Trickster's Choice, and Moulin Rouge,” I sighed.

Interesting choices,” he replied, seeming to roll it around in his head. “I happen to own Moulin Rouge, do you want to watch it tonight?”

I...guess...” I was reluctant, but what else was I going to do for the rest of the night? Sit in my room in silence?

We finished the rest of the meal, and he said he would come and get me from my room when he had everything set up for the movie. I figured I may as well change into a pair of pajamas, there was no point in being uncomfortable. I put on a pair of grey sweatpants and a light blue cami. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door.

Desmond led me into a room I hadn't been in yet, and I was shocked. There was a television the size of the entire wall, and on the opposite side the comfiest looking couch I had ever seen, and an assortment of snacks and drinks on the coffee table in front of it. Desmond sat down on the couch and pressed play, and I took my seat on the opposite side of the couch. I could feel him shoot me a look, but I didn't pay attention.

~*~*~*~

Desmond turned the lights on once the credits started playing and I wiped a tear out of the corner of my eye. The ending got me every time. He came over and helped me up off the couch.

I'm tired, I'm going to go to bed,” I started, looking Desmond in the eyes. He was too close for comfort.

He didn't say anything. He just stared me in the eyes, like he was trying to learn something from mine. Before I even knew what was happening, his lips were pressed against mine, and the shock from it had caused me to start to fall backwards, I tried to push him off and catch myself. He wrapped his arms around me tight, not allowing me to fall or break free, and kissed me deeper, I couldn't help but give in as my dream once again flashed through my mind.

I suddenly regained my sanity and used all my force to push him off and quickly walked back to my room. I heard him call my name from behind but I ignored it. Once in my room, I shut the door and pressed my back to it, slowly sliding down to the floor, allowing tears to flow freely. I could still feel his lips on mine, and I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. I know it was foolish to feel like I was cheating on Lucas, for all he knew I was dead. Then the fact that they faked my death to “extract” me made me feel even more guilty, I couldn't even imagine what kind of pain he must be going through. I don't even know the details of what they did.

There was a knock on my door.

Olivia, can I please talk to you?” I heard a twinge of pain in his voice.

What?!” I shouted through the door. I just wanted to be left alone. When he didn't say anything I let out an irritated groan and stood up to open the door, only to be face to face with Desmond again. His eyes were full of pain and lust, and it scared me.

I want you,” He growled, scooping me up in his arms in such a way that I couldn't struggle. He kissed me hard and kicked the door shut behind him before carrying me to my bed and dropping me onto it.

Please,” I begged, not entirely sure if I was begging him to stop or keep going. My body was completely conflicted. My body screamed yes from its want of touch but my head screamed no because I knew it was Lucas I wanted, not him.

He crawled on top of me and started kissing me aggresively, causing me to moan as the kisses started to trail down my neck. I tried to push him off, but he grabbed my wrists and held them above my head while kissing down to my chest, illiciting my back to arch on its own. He let out an amused chuckle and gave me a smirk.

I could feel my tears streaming down my cheeks, starting to burn from the salts, but he didn't care and proceeded to rip my clothes off before slipping out of his shorts. He restrained me, making it hard for me to move out of his grip and then he entered me roughly, causing me to scream at the top of my lungs.

When he was done, he left the room without saying a word and left me crying in a heap on my bed. I should have ran when I had the chance.
