(Please, please read the memo. D= )
Dinner at the Devils Nest, you found, was nothing like you had expected. There were many people seated around the rectangular table, laughing, talking, and arguing casually, you would have sworn they were a family.
Dorchette seemed to eat like a starving animal. Marta didn't eat much, but rather seemed to swallow her food whole. There were a few other people - a large burly man whos name you learned was Law, a lizard chimera named Bido, and numerous others, including Kimblee and the strange man named Greed.
Half-way through dinner, Greed stood from his seat, and after a few bickering comments, the table quieted down. You followed everyone's example and placed your fork on the table, turning your attention to him.
"As I'm sure some of you have noticed - I say some, because I know not all of you are that bright," He started, his gaze flickering to Bido as he said this; the table erupted in short laughter at the lizard-mans expense. "We have a new addition to the table tonight," He continued, his gaze now turning to you, followed by a few others at that table who hadn't paying you much mind up until now. You glanced around at some of the men, and were disgusted as you caught a few of them eyeing you, licking their lips.
"Indecision," Greed continued, a smirk growing on his face, "Is from now on a part of the family, and I expect you to treat her as such." There were a few whoops and hollers following this statement, and Marta, who was seated next to you, smiled and patted your shoulder lightly.
"That also means," He said in a louder, more forceful tone, as the noise quieted down again, "That she is off-limits, and if I see any one of you with your hands on her, I might have to take drastic measures." He grinned, holding up his right hand, which you noticed was covered in a hard, shining, black substance. Normal fingers turned to claws, and his grinned turned feral as he glanced around the table. "This is your only warning."
Everyone grew silent as this, seemingly weighing their options before they decided against anything stupid. You glanced around at everyone else, feeling Greed's eyes come to rest on you. You returned his gaze, frowning slightly as you noticed his hand was now back to normal.
"That being said, please continue your meals," He finished with a lop-sided grin, returning to his seated position as he turned his gaze to Kimblee and began conversing with him quietly. The rest of the noise around the table resumed, as everyone did as they were told. You sat there, staring at your food for a while, your appetite seemingly gone. You were more curious now as to why Greed seemed to be so protective of you you had only just met, after all.
'Or maybe he thinks I'm some kind of whore,' you inwardly sneered at the thought, picking up your fork and beginning to poke at the food on your plate a bit as you thought.

Dinner continued in what would be it's usual manner for some time, before you noticed Greed remove himself from the table, apparently done with his meal, and retreat into a room off to the side. Marta had engaged in conversation with Law and Dorchette, and everyone else seemed either too busy or too full to notice as you quietly got up and slipped out of the room, following Greed.
As you turned to examine the room you entered, you realized that this was the part of the building you had seen when you first arrived - the bar. It was empty at the moment, no banter or drunken cheering going on. You continued into the room, seeing Greed resting on one of the many couches, his eyes closed. As you approached him, his eyes snapped open and turned to you, a grin spreading across his face.
"Miss me?" You scowled, taking a seat on a chair across from him, glancing around.
"Hardly," You responded quietly, your gaze lightening as you examined the dark room. Greeds gaze was still on you, and you found it was a bit uncomfortable to have him looking at you all the time. "Why," you began, but stopped when you noticed how unintentionally harsh you had sounded. You paused, then continued in a softer tone as you settled your gaze on Greed. "Why did you say that I'm 'off-limits'?"
Greed hummed contemplatively for a moment, before sitting up, eyeing you. "Well, if you'd rather not be, I can always retract my statement. There are a few men in there who haven't gotten any in a while, and I'm sure they'd be glad to have a pretty girl to spend some time with." His grin had turned into a knowing smirk, and you felt your face flush at his words. 'So that's what he meant. He was only making sure they didn't...but, wait. Why would he even care?'
"I mean...why do you care what happens to me?" You asked in an even softer tone, your eyes fixating themselves on the table between you - anything but that disturbingly sharp grin.
"What, you didn't notice?" You blinked, forcing yourself to look at him again - his face holding an expression of extreme amusement. "You're pretty special, if you didn't know." He continued, leaning back on the couch he was seating on, and propping his feet up on the table. You frowned, subconsciously brushing your fingers against the tattoo on your cheek.
"Because I'm a freak," You whispered, barely audible, your gaze downcast. You didn't notice that Greed had leaned forward until you felt his hand on your chin, turning your face so that he could examine your tattoo again.
"All of us here are - either freaks, or monsters," He grinned that sharp grin again, and you inwardly shuddered. His grip on your face loosened, but he stayed close. "You've got some sort of special talent, right? So do I; we all have one. We're the outcasts of society the criminals, the freaks, the ones that just don't fit in."
"What's your point?" Your eyebrow was raised, as you allowed him to stay close to your face; it bothered you but you figured you'd just have to get used to it. Greed grinned again, his glasses sliding down his nose a bit, revealing his violet eyes. "If you stay and help us, I'll make sure you're heavily rewarded."
You paused, eyeing him for a moment, before leaning back and crossing your arms. "Honestly? I never really had any intention of leaving."
"No, I didn't think so."
