You know what's the best thing about Halloween?
Harry Potter Marathon's.
Since we were small, myself and Mike Fuentes would run over to his basement and watch every movie that would come out. We started with the first movies, and this year we planned on watching them all since the Dealthy Hollow's Part 2 had already come out.
I ran a hand through my hair and looked down at my costume. It was home made, but I'd put all my heart into it.
I was going as Hermione Granger and Mike said he'd go as Ron Weasly.
We weren't actually going to any party or whatever, but just dressing up as the characters kinda made it feel like we were kids again on Halloween.
I smiled on last time in the mirror and made a dash for the door, grabbing my keys and making my way down the street.
I saw a small kids running around, some dressed as Harry and others as Draco. I smiled to myself, feeling proud to be part of the Harry Potter fandom.
I got to the Fuentes house and before I even knocked the door flew open and a pair of strong hands wrapped around my waist.
I smiled against his neck as he spun me around.
I couldn't help but feel my heart go haywire in my chest. Mike had always made me feel safe and happy, but at the same time he made my skin hot and my breath hitch when he held me close.
I guess you could say I liked him.
I always had, but I'd never ever tell him.
As he set me down he kissed the side of my cheek, his scruff was soft against my skin and I wished he'd stop being modest and just kiss me for real, but that was never going to happen.
"Ready for the best Halloween ever, we got the whole series to watch!"
I smiled and nodded, following him inside.
"You sound like Tony with his Star Wars."
I joked as we made our way to the basement, which was comfortably prepared for long hours of movie watching.
"Ha Ha, you're just as obsessed as me."
"Can't lie, I am."
He grinned and I plopped down on the couch, fixing the Gryfindor necktie around my throat.
I watched as Mike turned on the t.v. and opened up the first DVD, popping it in.
For a moment it was fine, but then Mike let out a groan.
"Shit! Vic spilled cola on the damn DVD player!"
I leaned forward and looked at the tv. It was stuck on the menu and even as Mike pressed every button possible, it wouldn't work.
With a sigh he took a seat beside me and shrugged off the cloak he was wearing.
"Now what? We can't watch it!"
He said, looking at me with eyes that refracted a childlike saddness.
"Well.....we are dressed up."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Well yea, you know cuz of the movie."
"Well now we can have another reason."
He seemed even more confused and I smiled, tugging him back upstairs as he grabbed his cloak and ginger wig.
"I can't believe we are trick or treating. We're adults Belle!"
"Never to old for candy Mike"
I explained with a giggle as I plopped a mint into my mouth.
Sure some of the people were partially confused by why a pair of adults had gone out in Harry Potter costumes for Halloween fun, but we didn't care.
It was free candy and I got to spend time with Mike.
As we reached the Fuentes house once more, Mike turned to me with a smile.
"Sorry the marathon got fucked up, but I had fun today."
"Same, Halloween is our day so.."
"Well...I have a question."
I blinked and looked up at him.
"What is it?"
"Well......you know you are dressed as Hermione and I am Ron so..."
I wasn't sure what he was getting at, but as he leaned down and pressed his lips to mine I really didn't care.
It was a sweet kiss, blessed with the softness of his hand on my cheek.
As we pulled back he pressed his forhead to mine and picked me up into his hands.
"Well I was just going to say that Ron and Hermione got their happy end, so...so should we."
I grinned. This was better then a happy end. It was a Halloween Dream come true.
