One Of The Boys (Girl At An All-Boys Boarding School) (4)
Going to sleep seemed to be one of the worst things I could do.
When I was starting to wake up, I heard voices in my room again. Note to self, remember to lock the door. I heard the voices of what appears to be my new set of friends.
“Brandon! Get away from her! You’ll wake her up!” I think Drew said.
“Don’t be so paranoid! It’s not like she’s gonna wake up any minute now and reprimand me.” Said Brandon.
“You wanna bet?” I said getting up. I ended up bonking my head with Brandon, who appears to have been almost laying over me while I slept. “Oh gross! Don’t tell me you’ve been like this for a while now! Why didn’t anyone stop him?” I asked, looking around at all the guys.
“I tried, but he just doesn’t listen.” Alex shyly.
“Good boy Alex. At least someone has manners and decency.” I said, staring down Brandon.
He just shrugged back. “Eh, maybe some other time.”
“I wouldn’t count on that.” I got up from my bed and walked over to the bathroom and knocked
on the door. “Anyone in here?”
“You don’t need to do that. Just open it.” Brandon said.
“I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not walk in on anyone peeing.”
“Eh, you get used to it.”
“I reckon you do that pretty often then, huh?”
“Unfortunately.” He said.
I opened the bathroom door. It was empty. I washed my face, brushed my hair, you know, the usual morning routine. I came back out and sat in the spiny chair by the desk. “So, what do you guys want to do today?”
“I don’t care. You decide.” Said Damien.
“Well, I still wouldn’t mind a tour of this place.”
“And we’ll be happy to give you one!” Drew pitched in. I hadn’t even noticed him yet, despite the fact that he was a mere three feet away from me.
“Alrighty then. Sounds like a plan.” I suddenly remembered that I hadn’t spoken to Justin or Emma yet. Oh my god! Just wait until they find out! They’ll want to hear everything! “Looks like we are gonna have to put that off for a bit. There’s something I need to do first.”
“Like change?” Alex said, eyeing my pajamas.
“Well, yes. But there’s something else as well.” I went to my backpack and pulled out a camera. “Hey, I want a picture! Everybody get close and pretend to love each other!” The boys practically raced together and smiled dashing smiles. I snapped the picture and looked at it. Emma will love this. I thought. The guys all look so hot. I looked up to see Brandon by me.
` “Can I see it?”
“No way Hose! Why would anyone want to look at your face?” I remarked. I heard someone start laughing in the background.
“Hmph. Fine. Be that way. And for the record, everyone loves my face!” he beamed. Damien threw a pillow at his face and he stumbled backwards. He shot him a death glare. Damien just shrugged.
“Sorry man. It just slipped.” He laughed.
I got my computer out of my bags as well as the camera cord. I went to my email and started to write and email to Emma, explaining my situation and what is was like feeling being chased by practically every guy known to Earth. I uploaded the photo of the guys and named each one of them.
When that was done, I looked up to see that the guys weren’t paying attention. I went over to my dresser and pulled out a t-shirt with the Hogwarts Houses on it and some red shorts. I went to change in the bathroom, not wanting to cause a scene in the bedroom. While in there, I applied my makeup like I did yesterday and combed my hair one last time.
I walked back out. “So, you guys ready or what?”
“We’ve been waiting on you sweet cheeks.” Drew said. “Nice shirt by the way.”
“Thanks, I’m a Slytherin.” I smiled. I grabbed my camera. “Hope you don’t mind, but I want pictures.” I put on my sandals and we were out the door.
We stopped at the front office to pick up a map of the place just because I wanted one. We walked through the small park, which led to the pool and gym.
“Hey, we should go swimming later on!” I suggested.
“Yeah!” They all said.
“Well, if you really don’t want to then I guess we don’t have to.” I said sarcastically. They showed me a lounge area, which had a pool table, darts and a tv with couches. I would snap some pictures here and there, trying to get the buildings and scenery. I also got lots of pictures of the boys goofing off. I even managed to get a group photo of us by the front gate, but it was one of those crazy photos in which everyone was doing something different. Brandon was flexing, Alex was doing “The Thinker” pose and Damien and Drew picked me up on their shoulders. I immediately fell in love with the picture. I was too lazy to continue walking, so I had Drew give me a piggyback ride.
“We should eat. I’m getting hungry.” I stated.
“To the cafeteria!” They all shouted. Drew started to take off so I held on tight, which I didn’t seem to think he minded much. When we got inside, Drew carried me over to a table and dropped me off in a chair.
“And what would the lady like?” he asked me.
“Um, how about a water and you can surprise me with the food.” I said. I felt like a little kid, having my parents order for me at a restaurant.
“Coming right up!” He started to leave.
“Hey, aren’t you going to take my order?” Brandon asked.
“Once you become a girl, I might. Even then, probably not.” He laughed. All the other guys went to go get food but Alex stayed with me.
“Don’t want to leave you alone. Who knows who’ll come and try to kidnap you?” he said.
“Thanks.” I said.
“So, you’re a Potterhead?” he asked me.
“And proud to be one!” I beamed.
“Nice! Me too! I’m a Ravenclaw however.”
“Eh, I like Slytherin the best. I always root for the bad guys, they are just so cunning and determined. I just hate how they always lose. I really want to see a movie in which the bad guy wins.”
“Then you should check out the Saw movies.” He suggested. We went back and forth like this, chatting about fandoms and what’s cool to check out. I liked Alex. He brought out my geeky side, which I never really tried to hide. He suggested some movies that sounded pretty good and we got into an argument over what teams we ship for romances in Harry Potter.
As I walked up to get food, Damien nugged me.
“So, you like Ariel huh?” he said, wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
“What makes you say that?” I asked. I wasn’t sure entirely if I did like her, but I definitely knew I liked her as a friend.
“Oh come on. The piggyback ride. You getting her food. It’s pretty obvious to me you have a crush.” He smiled.
I laughed. I did kinda like her. I mean, she was nice, and funny, and a hell of a looker. “Oh don’t act so innocent. Like you don’t have an interest in her as well! I saw you tickling her, and how you look at her.” I mentioned.
“Hey, it’s cool with me if you want her. Just say the word and I’ll back off.”
We were in line for food now so I ordered myself a Diet Coke and burger, getting the same for Ariel but with a water. The more I thought about it, the more I think I did like Ariel. I’d have to make a move soon though, because it seemed as though every other guy here wants her as well.
Damien must have seen me think about it. “Just get back to me on that. Until then, she’s fair game.” He said.
I got a little worried but shrugged it off. Damien was good at getting girls, but so was I. Looks like it’ll be up to her who she chooses.
On our way back to the table, I noticed at least two new guys had appeared, no doubt in pursuit of Ariel.
I shoved them out of the way and placed the tray on the table.
“Hey!” they said.
“Howdy! You can leave now.” I told them. “Food is served!” I said, taking a seat across from Ariel. The two guys were about to protest but I gave them a hit-the-road look. They walked away looking pretty bummed.
“That was mean. Oh well. They were starting to bug me anyways.” She looked at her food. “Yay a burger! Thanks!” she said happily. She took some the ketchup and put in in her burger and took a bite.
“And whose says never to get finger food the first time you eat with a guy? HA!” she laughed. She had gotten some ketchup on the tip of her nose. How? I’m not sure but it looked kinda funny.
“Uh, you got a litt-“ Alex started to say but was cut off by Brandon.
“Shh! Let’s see how long it is until she notices.” He whispered. She just continued on like nothing was wrong.
I started to laugh, as did everyone. It had been about five minutes and she still hadn’t noticed it. I couldn’t help it and neither could they.
“What’s so funny?” she asked.
“Oh, nothing.” Damien said.
“No seriously! What are you guys laughing at? I want to know!” she started to look over her shoulder and all around. “Come on guys! Tell me what’s funny!”
Alex took a napkin and wiped her nose. “You’ve had that ketchup on you for quite a while now haha.”
She started to blush as red as the ketchup. “Why didn’t anyone tell me! God, you guys are so immature.” She said, wiping her nose and all around her face.
“Ah, you can’t stay mad at us.” I said, smiling at her.
“Yeah, that’s true.” She blushed back.
“So, I believe swimming was mentioned earlier?” Brandon said.
“You honestly expect me to swim now on a full stomach? Nah, I’m too lazy to do that. I don’t want to cramp up!” she exclaimed.
“Fine, but we’re swimming one way or another!” he said, pointing a finger at her.
“If you insist.” She replied, rolling her eyes at him. Brandon help a smug smile.
We finished our food and walked out of the cafeteria. “Where to?” I asked Ariel.
“Let’s just relax in the park for now. It’s so nice outside.”
I went in front of her. “Hop on.”
“I don’t think I can. It would harm my food baby,” she rubbed her belly.
“Fine then. Walk for all I care” I pretended to be shunned. She laughed at me and gestured for me to come back over.
“Fine. If you want to carry me that badly then your wish shall be granted.” She climbed onto my back and we headed for the park.
