It was August 3rd, 2012, and I was at Keuka Lake in NY. It exists, look it up on Google! The house we were staying at was literally on top of the water. After swimming in the lake that day, the full moon rose into the sky. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I was so hypnotized by it, I barely knew where I was going. The next thing I knew, the waterwas up to my hips, and I just stared at the moon. I started swimming under the moonlight. Soon, I ran up to the patio and started dancing under the moonlight. I then saw a vision: Whenever a full moon rises, a mermaid is born. And the magical mermaid sea serpent god of the mermaids is the Moon Serpent. When I went to sleep that night, I had a dream. I was at the lake, and the Moon Serpent was in front of me. I then was taken underwater, following him. I realized I was breathing underwater. I turned around, and I was a mermaid with a magenta colored tail. I followed the Moon Serpent as mermaids surrounded us. They were beautiful creatures, not like mermaid monsters in Harry Potter. That's whenI heard music. It was the Moon Serpent talking: "This is our new mermaid. And I have been watching over her a long time now. So I am promoting her the Mermaid of Love." I just love romance! The Moon Serpent gave me a pearl necklace and put it on me. The pearls were magenta too. That's when I suddenly woke up. Why did it feel like I was wet? Why did it feel like something was around my neck although there wasn't? I smiled and whispered, "Thank you, Moon Serpent." Every full moon, I see him, and every blue moon, I get stronger. And that's how I became a mermaid.
