I've walked past that alleyway every single day for the last seven years, ever since we moved to the East Side. But I don't look. I never look. It's just an alley right? Trash bins, fire esacapes, shadows... nothing special. Tonight, the game went late and it's dusk as I walk. But in the alley, its dark. I stopped and look. A thready fog creeps up out of the manhole covers. And a low door at the end of the alley swings open. Pale blue light spills out. Music, laughter. And someone calls out to me.I hunched my shoulders and kept walking thinking that I had imagined some one calling to me. I felt a cold shiver tickle down my back and make me freeze mid step. I turned and looked back at the deserted street and felt the little hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. I quickly turned back the way I was going but I bumped into a big burly guy, he had to be about 6'5 and 200 pounds.
I stammered out and went to walk around him, he grabbed my arm in his hand and pulled me close to him, I could smell the alcohol radiating off of his breath.
"Where's a pretty lady like you going in such a hurry?"
His words tumbled out in a slur that was followed by horrid waves of alcohol stench. I tried to break free of his grasp but was unsuccessful. He held me tighter and I felt something cold and sharp stink into my side, I whimpered as I moved my free hand up to the area that was now radiating pain and felt something hot and sticky. I wanted to scream out to someone but there was only one small problem there was no one around to help me if I did scream. I looked up at him and he had a devilish smirk plastered on his face and I wondered if this was going to be the last thing I would see before I died. I tried to pull free again but his smirk faltered and it looked like he had sobered up and I knew I was in trouble, he pulled me over to one of the parked cars on the other the side of the street and grabbed a rope out of the trunk and tied my hands together and shoved me into the back of the seat.
"Master should be quite pleased that I was able to find you so quickly.''
And with that he shoved the door closed and got into the driver side and shoved the keys into the ignition, the car started with a quiet hum. He pulled away from the curb and disappeared into the night with me.
