Rebound (Kyo Sohma) 2

You noticed Touru went right to Yuki when he offered to hold him. ~ he might be around more often than his own father~ you thought. It was hard for you to think of Kyo as a mean person, or a purposfully negligent dad, but he was so attached to Tohru, seeing the baby would be a costant reminder. You guys sat down on the grass.
"Tohru, the elder, only lived long enough to name him. My only concilation was I don't think she realized what was happening untill it was too late. Other people had to raise this guy," he was helping Yojru walk by holding his hands, "because 'dad' had to run away when the pain got too bad. He didn't even see the burial.
Disd you know they buried her with the braclet? She had taken to wearing it when he stopped. Untill he blew up."
Yuki saw the feeling of disbelief fly accross your face. "I may be a bit biased, but it is only in thier favore." You knew he meant the Tohrus, Yuki had gotten over his hate of Kyo, at least most of it.
"So now?..." You asked.
"They are staying with Kazuma (I don't feel like retyping, expanation of who he is later if you don't know).
Yuki let go and Tohru toppled to his bottom and smiled. He really was a well mannered baby.
"I will see you later y/n-san" Yuki said and left.
You played with Tohru until a matronly lady came to collect him.
Then you started your new life.
(me: Damn I forgot, Have to go fix questions,,, D*** D***D***) what is she mumbling about? *shrug*
"Are you Ok?" Momiji asked? that was when you realized how stressed you looked. You excused yourself, (you had passed him while leaving your apartments) and walked out of the Sohma complex. Before classes you took the time to get a cup of coffee in the town where your college is (? ideas?) You grabbed a cup with extra caramel and whipped cream (mmm) and sat down. In the three days you have been back in Japan you have been busy reintroducing yourself to everyone, getting your classes set up, and getting a job.
What had been the Sohma Family Day Care Center, formerly used only for realitives of the juunishi, was now open to the public and seriously understaffed.
You felt at home there, with even a memory or two yourself in the rooms and desided to work there.
You love kids (and if you don't- o.O ) so it seemed like the perfect place. It's not like you were trying to run into Kyo. Well, you hadn't anyway. Not in the two days you had been there and you were starting to suspect you wouldn't.
Apperently Kyo was always at Kazuma's (Kyo's Shishou, trainer, and father figure who raised him) dojo, or taking night classes at a community college. ~He was still to stupid not to be tricked into school~ you thought.
Wheres the rest? (I'm getting to it)
After classes you had a late lunch and went to your job. You were working with two other people, both agreeable and about your age, and between 12 and 20 kids a day.
Today there were only 12 and everything went well until the end.
Tohru had not been picked up yet and was playing disconcerntedly (?) with a lid to a toy while everyone else was picked up (kids and toys).
You assumed Kazuma must be running late (he was the one who usually picked up. It was amayzing how good with kids he was, you tried not to seem too interested when he told storied of baby Kyo) so you told the others you would stay with him until he was picked up.
It was pretty dark by now and the other lights had been turned off already. Trying not to get nervous you look for a phone number for Kazuma or Kyo and were unable to find one. Feeling a little upset with just you and Tohru alone (and no, you were never in the dojo, but would it really matter if everyone around you had been?) you started to sing softely a song which was comfirting to you (this is one of my favorites, its a minor tune I think) "lev tahor, bera lee elokim..." It was slow and you you were concentrating so hard you didn't here some one come in behind you.
You grabbed Tohru and turned, listening to him croon "dadi dadi."
"Good insticts" Kyo said and took Tohru from you. "Sorry for being so late."
He tried to go out but you blocked the door; now you were mad.
"You think you understand insticts ? you asked him? "You waltz in here twenty minutes late and expect it to be ok? What about Tohru?" What about me? "He missed you" Meanwhile Tohru still held the box cover.
"Sorry, Ok?!"
But you wern't finished. To your chagrin "...and I don't happen to like going home alone at night either" was out of your mouth before you could help it.
~D***~ You closed your eyes and almost missed him slip passed you and say," if you come I'll go with you."
Yes!
So to your delight you walked beside Kyo all the way to your house with him. Kyo asked Tohru in a slightly baby-ish voice what he did today? You helped out from the time you got there at about three. "Jus" bercame a long tale of snacktime, while "bluck" was about your tower.
Only then did you realize you were giving special attention to Tohru.
After that you all walked in suprizingly amiable silence. You thought about the way you had exploded before. you were quite quiet and peacefull naturally, but the thought of kids being mistreted always filled you with rage.
After a much too short walk you reached the door. "I havn't had dinner yet... have you...?" you said hopefully. But alas Kyo answered "no" and walked away. ~Oh well,~ you thought. Maybe next time. You were amazed you had asked. You closed the door to the sound of Tohru calling "no! no! no!"
