Rebound (Kyo Sohma) 5

Recap: you couldn't finish your dinner with Kyo, but you ended up having fun at the park.
Its been a week. You've been busy adusting to this new role of trying to only be Kyo's friend. He's actually been pretty open. Maybe it was because everyone else was just trying to comfort him, while you were accepting him with the hurt? Whatever the case, Kyo delivered an invitation for dinner which was formally from Kazuma, at your last support group meeting (it meets twice a week).
You knew that the food would be decent if not good because Kyo would not let Kazuma cook with Tohru in the house (fire hazard).
10 minutes before you were due (I'm making this up- it's a 3 minute walk there) you find yourself checking your appearence in the downstairs mirror. What do you see, and what does it make you think?
A red shirt, not too revealing with a black lace skirt, boots, and other jewlery- ~I look hot! will he notice? If not there are always other Sohmas in the sea!~
Jeans and a nice shirt in a flatering color, ~I want to look nice because I was invited to dinner, but I'm going as a friend~ (Is respectful, or doesnt really like Kyo)
A frilly outfit in a pastel color and kitten heals, ~I always dress this way, what's the difference? I hope Kyo and Kazuma like it!~ (a little oblivious, but sweet)
ripped jeans and a dirty t-shirt and sandles ~I'm just here for free food!~ (probably not the sensitive caring person who loves Kyo I'm talking about)
You breathe in and out slowly three times and then leave the house. After a brisk walk your there. Even breathing can't keep your heart rate down now. Only seeing Kazuma open the door and hearing Tohru screamig out your name brings you back to reality. ~close there. if Kyo had opened the door I might have glomped him.~
You help Kazuma put Tohru to bed as Kyo finishes dinner (;) he he). After you finish reading him a dr. Suess book for the 40th time Kazuma tucks him in you leave.
Kazuma motions like he wants to talk to you. "You know we're really happy you are Tohru's teacher. He really misses his mom, and the attention you give him is great"
"no problem" and it wasn't. You loved Tohru, and it was easy to see how much Kazuma and kyo did too.
"I think dinner should be ready soon."
"sure"
Dinner was fun. You talked about your job and school. Kazuma seemed interested, if a little out of it. The fraze 'meeting the parents' floated through your mind, but you pushed it away.
At about ten oclock, after you had been there for 2 hours, and y'all had finished desert, Kazuma took in the dished to clean up. You looked up at Kyo.
It was amazing how comfortable you felt. You picked up your water glass and swirled the last dreggs around, content to sit forsever. ~If only I could~.
Kyo interupts your thoughts;
Sorry guys I'm stopping it here. I wanted it to be romantic, but I am too stressed to mske it work.
