I stared down at the paper.
I looked around the room.
I flicked through the channels.
I pushed up the volume on the stereo.
Nothing changed the fact that no ideas were flowing out of my mind.
My pen remained in my hand, the paper untouched my the tip and untainted by my words.
I didn't have work for an hour.
Nobody was home, naturally, as they were somewhere in...Florida? by now.
I called Sarah, a girl I was friendly with at work, but she didn't answer her phone.
I was pretty much left with no options.
Remind me to make some more friends.
So, I was left alone, me and a notebook, no signs of being filled anytime soon.

The phone rang.
One time.
Then two.
Then three.
I rummaged through the clothes by my bed, flipped over pillows, and even searched in my dresser drawer.
I finally found it next to the computer on my desk, and answered it just as the machine picked up.
"Hello?" I asked breathlessly.
"Just get back from a run?" the person said smugly on the other line.
"Very funny." I said, but a grin covered my face nonetheless.
Leave it to Pat to be a thousand miles away and still make me smile.
"So, how's life treating you?" he asked me.
"Great."
"Liar."
"Let's just say I'm managing." I said, a roll of my eyes due to his not believing my lie.
"Good to hear."
"What about you?"
"Things are amazing, as usual..."
I was on that phone for the next two hours.

I hung up the receiver, and was slightly happier than I had been when I started.
Hearing his voice can have that effect on me.
I sunk into the couch cushions and pulled a blanket tightly around me.
As I shifted around, I felt something hard underneath me.
I pulled out my notebook, a pen dangling out of it's side.
In moments, I flipped the book open.
Ideas poured out of my mind so quickly, my mind raced faster than I could move my pen across the page.
It was about time I got some inspiration.
I smiled, knowing exactly who I got it from.

The phone rang again, moments later.
"Hello?"
"Riley!"
"Michelle!" I mocked her.
I had forgotten she was still in town.
"I have no one to hang out with since Pete and the boys lefttt." she whined.
"Me eitherrr." I droned back.
"Great. Come over."
"I'm on my way."
I hopped in the car, ready to leave.
I realized that I forgot to take my cell phone, but I paid no mind.
Who would be calling anyway?
Rest in results...<3
Pete's POV
"Stop looking so down." I said, staring at Patrick's sullen expression as he grasped his phone.
"I just miss her, is all." he said, voice low and quiet.
"Pull yourself together. You haven't even told the girl you're in love with her!"
"I am not."
"Okay, then you wouldn't mind if I called her up and told her that would you?"
My fingers had already began to dial the number.
"No! Stop it! Don't tell her thattt."
She's not answering. Damn.
He struggled to get the phone from me, but I hung it up, hearing no answer on the other line.
"You don't love her?" I said.
I walked out of the room, leaving Patrick alone with his thoughts.
