Your eyes snapped open.
Big mistake.
The light that was flooding whatever room you were in was border-line blinding.
You shut your eyes tight again to block out the sun's rays.
The sun?! Where am I? You were determined to answer this important question, so you hesitantly opened your eyes while shielding your face with a hand. You stayed like this for a couple moments, at least until the annoying multi-colored dots that accompanied bright lights stopped swimming around your vision.
When all was clear again, you found yourself staring at a cream colored ceiling. 'Huh?' You immediately sat up, giving yourself the migraine of the century. Your hands flew to your head as you squeezed your eyes shut again, willing the pain to go away, only to find that your arms also hurt.
"What the hell!" you yelled at no one in particular. You felt something move beside you, or more specifically, something shook the bed. You cracked your eyes open cautiously, readying yourself for whatever you might see.
White.
The first thing you saw was white.
You opened your eyes further to see that you were in a rather big bed that was covered in a comforter white in color with a gold swirling design in the middle. That not being the source of the movement, you searched the sides of the bed.
Your search ended when you saw a blonde head of hair encircled by two arms resting on the side of your bed. Upon further inspection, the head was connected to a body dressed in a white and gold trench coat that was slumped over in a chair set close to your side of the bed.
It took your still sleep fogged brain a couple seconds to recognize the sleeping form to be Krad. You vaguely noticed that he didn't have his wings anymore. In a rush, last nights events came flying back to you.
'Wait. Last night? I feel like I've been asleep for hours! If it's the morning after, it couldn't have been that long.' Your thoughts were halted by an annoying pang in your lower tummy.
"Woah. I gotta pee." You mumbled, sliding off the opposite side of the bed.
You tried being as quiet as possible so you wouldn't wake up Krad, but the moment your right foot hit the soft white carpet, a searing pain ignited your entire right leg like someone had just dipped it in burning oil.
"HOLY!" you screamed.
You immediately lifted the pressure off your foot, clamping a hand over your mouth and looking over at Krad. You could now see a part of his face since he's been facing away from you when you were in bed. He was slightly frowning, but no other signs of him waking up presented themselves.
You sighed in relief and somewhat hopped over to the bedroom door and carefully opened it. You were greeted with the much welcomed sight of a regular sized hallway with only 3 doors on the left wall. The entire right side had wooden railing running across it instead of a wall, leading to the stairs that were at the opposite end of the hallway. You didn't bother looking through the railing just yet because you seriously had to find that bathroom, and fast.
You hopped faster down the hallway to the first door, silently thanking the carpeted floors for muffling your demented one-legged hops. You opened the door you'd gotten to and nearly cried in happiness at finding the bathroom on the first try. It was entirely made out of white marble save for the faucet on the sink that was in front of a giant mirror on your right. To your left was a Jacuzzi bathtub with an extendable shower head hanging from the ceiling.
You hobbled your way over to the toilet that was next to the giant mirror only to stop and stare at your reflection. You looked horrible! You still had the smudges and kitty litter that had been plastered on your face and clothes from before, but now you had a large number of scratches and bruises mixed in from acting the rope in a game of tug-o-war between Kamui and Krad. Your hair wasn't even hair anymore. It looked like some hair-ball a cat had chucked up. You doubted you'd ever be able to comb through it again.
"Awesome." You mumbled as you glared at your look alike staring back at you from the mirror.

You did your business and went back out into the hallway. You would've taken a bath but you didn't want to just use Krad's stuff without asking him. It seemed wrong, even though you know you hadn't felt that way about using Kamui's stuff when you were at his house.
'Maybe it's because he's an angel.' you mused. You were about to explore some more but you felt yourself weakening.
"Oh no nononono" you mumbled as you hobbled as fast as you could back to the room you'd been sleeping in. This was the same feeling you'd gotten when you collapsed on Kamui's floor. You remembered not being able to move and you definitely didn't want to get stranded like that all over again.
You'd just made it into the room when you felt your legs giving out. You used your last ounce of strength to jump as far as you could, just barely getting you onto the end of the bed.
The jolt that had resulted sprung the sleeping Krad's head up, effectively waking him up.
You desperately crawled back under the covers, without the use of your legs, and got comfortable as the last of your muscles died. You sighed in relief having made it back.
You glanced over at Krad, whom you'd forgotten was sleeping, and hesitantly smiled. He was giving you an odd look and you realized how ridiculous you must've looked flailing around trying to get back in bed.
You couldn't stop the snicker that escaped your own lips when you saw how messed up Krad looked. His eyes were still partly closed and his hair was fuzzed up. That mixed with his slightly slumped over form and the look he was giving you, gave him the look of someone who had a serious hangover.
He raised an eyebrow at your laughing, only serving to make you laugh harder.
"Alright." Krad stated in the I-just-woke-up voice. "I'm glad to see you're finally up, but would you mind telling me why you just flew from across the room to get back into bed, looking like a fish out of water might I add." He asked with a slight chuckle, a smile working its way back onto his face.
Your cheeks flushed slightly. "It's not like I had a choice. As of a few moments ago, I can't move." Krad's smile disappeared at this, and was replaced by an expression of concern.
"Why can't you?" He asked as he leaned forward more in his chair.
"I'm not really sure. It happened once before at Kamui's house but I wasn't lucky enough to get back into a bed before it happened." You told him, cringing slightly at the memory.
Krad frowned in thought. "You can't move anything at all?" he asked as he stood up from his chair.
"No, but don't worry about me, I'm sure it'll ware off." You stated a bit shyly as he leaned over you and picked up one of your arms, letting it drop lifelessly when he let go. You weren't used to having someone worry over you. Kamui had just literally dragged you down the hallway when this happened last, and having someone you barely knew watching you like a hawk made you feel uneasy.
Krad merely shook his head and stood up straight, scratching the back of his head with a glove covered hand absentmindedly in thought.
"Well, I don't know what happened, but I do know how to fix it." he told you as he smiled softly. "You dont mind if I do that do you?" he asked.
"Of course not." You stated, looking at him oddly. 'What kind of question is that?' you wondered.
"Alright, but first we have to take care of your foot. It's probably broken, as I'm sure you've already noticed." He stated, watching for your reaction. When you managed a small nod, he continued. "I'm going to have to reset it or else the bone won't heal right. It's going to hurt quite a lot but I'm going to need you to bare it, alright?" he asked as he went to stand at the foot of the bed where your feet were covered by the bedspread.
"What, right now?" you asked, slightly panicking. Sure, you could handle pain, but you'd just stepped on the thing a little while ago and you couldn't even begin to imagine how much it would hurt to actually move it, much less re-set it.
"The sooner we get this done the better." Was all he said before he lifted the bedspread, exposing your feet. You heard him breathe in sharply and you struggled to look down at what he was looking at. You could only see the top of your toes but they were a sickening purple color and pointing at an odd angle, assuring you that your foot was not in the position it was supposed to be in. 'This is gonna sting.' you thought bitterly as you readied yourself for the pain you knew was coming.
"Before you do anything, can you put a pillow over my face?" you asked hesitantly. You didn't want him to have to see your face, and this way, you could muffle whatever choice words you chose to spew at the time. He was an angel after all and it felt wrong to swear in front of him.
He looked at you oddly for a moment before doing as you asked. You felt one of his gloved hands wrap gently around your ankle and the other around the heel of your foot. "Alright, on 3." You heard him say. "1." You clenched your teeth. "2." You shut your eyes tight. "3." There was a sickening crack of bones as Krad re-aligned the bones in your feet.
"HOLY MOTHER F-" you screamed into the pillow, followed soon by a long list of phrases that should not be repeated. You felt Krad's hands release your now painfully throbbing foot and pull the bed-spread completely off of you.
In the back of your mind you wondered what he was doing, but the words flying from your mouth were too distracting to keep you on that thought for long. You felt the pillow being lifted from your face and arms encircle your waist and upper back.
Your eyes were still squeezed shut in pain when you felt yourself being lifted from the bed and into a gentle standing hug. Or at least you would've been standing had your feet been touching the ground. Krad was a good deal taller then you, standing at about 6ft 5'.
You opened your eyes as you felt a warm sensation rush through you, finding that there was a soft glowing light surrounding you and Krad.
Almost immediately, the pain in your foot started to ebb, leaving a tingling sensation in its wake. You soon found that all of your scratches and bruises were mending also along with your mobility. You lifted your arms experimentally, finding that you could indeed move them without any sort of difficulty.
You shyly hugged Krad back, earning a small chuckle from him.

"Feeling better?" he asked softly when he pulled back to look at you.
"Yeah, actually." You responded confusedly.
He smiled gently and set you down. You held your breath and cringed, expecting your foot to explode in pain when you put pressure on it.
You felt nothing.
Your eyes widened as you looked down at your now fully healed right foot. It looked exactly as it should, without any hint of bruising or broken bones. You jumped in place testingly, finding that it really was back to normal. You laughed happily and hugged Krad once again.
You immediately let go once you realized what you'd just done. You still barely knew the guy after all and you had already hugged him twice. A slight blush stained your cheeks as you stuttered out an apology. "S-sorry, I was just s-so happy! I mean, I would've been in a foot cast for months normally and-" Krad cut you off with a sad shake of his head.
"It's not you who should be sorry. I'm mostly to blame for this for not getting you out of that house sooner, or in the least, for hurting you in the process." This brought your thoughts rushing back to the image of Kamui's disappearing form watching you being flown away from the roof of his house. A pang of regret flew through you.
Krad noticed your saddened expression and brought you back from your thoughts by taking your hand in his and leading you out the bedroom door. "Don't worry about him. Like I've said before, you won't have to see him again. He can't hurt you anymore." Krad told you soothingly as you both made your way to the stairs you'd seen earlier.
You shook your head. "That's exactly it. He hasn't ever hurt me, at least not on purpose." You told him, remembering the first time you'd spotted the rats smiling. You never did get to ask him about why he'd freaked out that way when he'd let you clean that same room only a day later.
"But he hurt you all the same." Krad stated, still leading you down the stairs.
"So did you." You said quietly.
He halted in his steps for a split second before continuing on his path to the first floor. 'I think I struck a nerve.'
"Kamui is a vampire and you're a human. It's just not possible for you both to get along." Krad muttered. This time you were the one to stop walking, in turn stopping Krad since he'd still been leading you by the hand.
He looked back at you questioningly and received a glare. "We were doing just fine." you said angrily.
"So then why were you so messed up when I found you?" Krad asked, now turning to face you fully.
"We were cleaning his house! Kamui was in the same condition as me if you hadn't noticed." One of Krad's eyebrows rose in question.
"He made you clean his house?"
"Well, in a way I guess, but not in the way you're thinking. He was going to answer some questions for me in return for cleaning." Krad still looked like he didn't believe you but he decided to play along for the time being.
"Is that why you were in his bedroom? As some sort of pay-back?"

"Yeah."
He raised both his eyebrows at this.
"I mean no! No."
He gave you a disbelieving look and you sighed, yet again, in frustration at his unwillingness to believe Kamui had any sort of good intentions.
"It was because there were going to be some sort of investigator from hell-" you stopped yourself and stared wide eyed at Krad.
"You're not that person, are you?"
Krad stared back at you for a full 5 seconds before he answered back. "You're not serious."
When you didn't answer he scoffed. "Of course not! The better question is why the investigators would go looking through his house." After he said this, he started back on his way to a door on his right.
You briefly noted that the entire house was some sort of white color except for the wooden doors and railing you'd seen so far.
"Kamui said it was because the hell cats saw me. He said something about them reporting back that he had a human with him. Apparently that's a bad thing since he was talking about hiding me from the investigators." You went through the door Krad had led you to, to find a very normal looking kitchen. 'If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was someone's summer house.'
"Well it is very unusual for a vampire to keep a live human for so long. Even more so that the human can actually see the vampire." Commented Krad as he led you over to a wooden table and pulled out a chair for you.
"What do you mean? Are humans not supposed to see them?" you asked as you sat down.
"No, they're not. In fact, you're not supposed to be able to see me either." He told you as he rummaged through some cupboards above a stove on the right side of the room. You guessed he was telling the truth judging from the strange reactions you'd gotten on the first day you met them both.
You'd been so scared of Kamui back then. You chuckled at the memory. He was so different then what you'd expected.
"What do you want for breakfast?" Krad called from his place by the stove. "I want to go back to Kamui."
