"Hey." Billie Joe said. "Hey." She replied, helping him up. "You ok?" She nodded unable to speak for an instance, when she realized where she was again. "You should get back on stage." Billie nodded. "Good point." Helping, the crowd began to realize Billie Joe was amongst them, pushing forward, millions of girls reaching for him, as two guards pulled him back on stage. Billie Joe looked back at the girl he had fallen on. "What's your name?" He yelled over the people's screams. "Ari!" She yelled back. Billie Joe smirked mouthing thanks as he ran back and continued to play. Ari stood there in awe, as the concert continued. Someone bumped into her, but she was lost in a dreamlike state. "Ari! Ari!" Ari turned to see Rose next to her once again. Smiling at her, Rose linked arms with her. "So we don't get separated." Nodding, both girls bounced to the music. Ari's gaze on Billie Joe the whole time. "Maybe." Aris arms shot up as she cheered joyfully. "I knew it!" "I'm not positive Ari." Ari grinned happily. Y"eah sure, well what is it? What do I do? When do I go?" Jessi laughed at her friend's enthusiasm. "Let me make a call then I can answer some of your questions." Ari nodded understandingly as Jessi got up to make her call. Tapping her fingers on the table she eyed her half eaten, turkey sandwich. Then her gaze shifted to her milkshake. Grasping the glass in both hands she began sipping it through the straw slowly. Jessi walked back up to the table pocketing her cell phone. "Ok well, I may have found something, but I'm not sure if you'd want to..." "I'll take it!" Jessi looked at her warily. "You sure? You don't even know what it requires." Ari shrugged as she pushed her sandwich aside. "I don't care, I'm desperate." Jessi shrugged. "Ok then, come to my work tomorrow at 8am." Ari grinned, "Yes, awesome, wait 8? Aw crap why so early? It's a freaking Saturday!" Jessi gave her a look. "What? I didn't mean it. See you tomorrow then." Jessi smiled as she got up and made her way to the door. Waiting for her friend to leave, the door shut and Ari cheered before leaving some money on the table and jumped up happily heading for the exit, shoving her hands in her pockets. "Hey Ari, I know you're there. Pick up the damn phone." Ari scoffed as she plopped down on the couch, shoving a giant spoon into the large tub of chocolate mint ice cream. "I know you're just sitting there, rolling your eyes at me as you're eating ice cream. Let me guess, chocolate mint right?" Ari frowned. She hated that fact that he knew her so well. "Fine whatever, I'm just calling to apologize, but whatever I give up Ari. I'm tired of your games. I'll see you when I see I guess. Bye." She heard the click of the phone hanging up and then another beep. The automated voice filling the silence that was left behind. "Message Saved."
The lights slowly dimmed until they were completely out. The crowd roared with cheering fans as the intermission ended. The Green Day concert was beginning and two girls clutched each others hands tightly as they waited for the performance to begin. As soon as Green Day came out and began to play Armatage Shanks, they both started yelling and singing enthusiastically along with every other fan. "Hey Ari, isn't this great?" Rose yelled to her friend. Ari nodded as she bounced up and down with the music.
"Fuck yeah!" The crowd started to push forward causing them both to be separated in the madness. Looking around, the stage inched away from her. Billie Joe ran out on the extended part, as he began singing Longview. Instantly arms shot up, creating a sea of them, reaching for the front man as well as waving with the music. Grinning Billie Joe jumped motioning for the crowd to mimic him. Landing his fifth jump he tripped and fell forward into the crowd. It seemed everyone moved aside except for one girl. Caught by surprise she looked up into two emerald eyes.
[1 week later]
"Come on Jessi, I know you have connections. Isn't there any place for me?" Ari pleaded as she leaned forward on the diner table. Jessi frowned as she massaged her temples. Ari looked at her friend waiting and hoping. Blowing her bangs out of her eyes, Jessi sighed.
Walking up the steps to her apartment, she took out her key and unlocked the dull, green door. It had only been a few months since she had moved out, but it felt as if she had always lived here. It was rather small, and her neighbors could get rather loud at times, but despite it all she loved it. It was her home. Throwing off her shoes, Ari made her way to the kitchen stopping in front of the refrigerator contemplating what she wanted when the phone rang. Groaning Ari made her way over to the phone, checking the caller ID. Up flashed the name Ben Jenkins. Making a face Ari walked back into the kitchen as the machine beeped. "Hey loser. You've reached Ari's residence and guess what, I'm not here. So leave a message and if I feel Like it I'll get back to you." Beeping once again a male's voice sounded.
