Never in a million years did Tegan expect to find whom she did! Innocently she walked through the woods carrying a knapsack when in front of her paused a beautiful white dog.
He was injured, and carried a boy about fourteen, the same age as her, in his mouth. Without hesitation Tegan took the boy in her arm so she could treat his wounds. Usually a shy girl she wouldn't have done such a thing in public but he needed help.
"Don't worry I'll help him," Tegan reassured the dog, so he would not think that she was going to harm the ninja. In a matter of minutes Tegan patched up the ninja, and noticed he was from Konoha.
"Konoha Ninja? He is a little ways from home isn't he?" Tegan asked putting a wet cloth on his forehead. The dog sat behind her watching her every move, though he didn't trust her yet, he knew she could help.
an was about to change the cloth over the ninja's forehead when she was pinned to the ground by both arms. "What do you think you are doing?" the boy asked angered his face almost touching hers.
"I-I was just helping you," Tegan stammered a little nervous. "Your dog was carrying you out from the trees." "You didn't need to help me," the boy mumbled standing. "What village are you from."
"The same one as you, I was just running errands for the Hokage," Tegan answered still sitting on the ground. "Why are you this far away from the village? The Hokage said there will be no missions in Rice Country alone."
"Then why are you alone?" the boy questioned looking down with interest. "Shouldn't you be with an escort?"
"No," Tegan stood packing up the stuff she left out. "I was just delivering some supplies to one of the poorer villages, nothing difficult."
"Where are we?" he asked walking over to the white dog.
"In Konoha's forest why?" Tegan blinked looking around. The boy grabbed Tegan around her waist and ran towards the village. "What are you doing?"
"We are being followed," he mumbled running with the dog at his heels. They reached the gates, Tegan still being held by this rescued boy. "What is your name?"
"What is yours?" Tegan asked crossing her arms.
"Inuzuka Kiba and my dog Akamaru. Now tell me your name." the boy barked looking up at Tegan.
"Tegan," she replied confused, "can you put me down?" Kiba blushed a little before setting her down.
"I have a mission to complete see you around Tegan," Kiba stated vanishing.
"Wow, he was rude," she paused letting his face come to her head, "but so cute, and he has a dog."
It had been not even a week since Kiba and Tegan met, but Tegan kept finding flowers on her doorstep. Either she had an admirer or a stalker. Without thinking about it Tegan put the flowers in a vase and left the house. Looking up at the sky Tegan bumped into someone, "Sorry," she quietly said before continuing to walk.
"Tegan?" a voice asked causing her to pause. "I am so glad I found you!"
"Kiba?" Tegan asked cocking her head.
"There is something i need to tell you something important." Kiba blushed a lot but something caught his eye. He pushed Tegan down on the ground causing himself to land on top of her.
"We have to stop meeting like this," Tegan chuckled a little pink.
"I know but," Kiba paused standing with a Kunai in his hand. "After you helped me you were being tracked."
"Tracked?" Tegan repeated nervously, "by a ninja?"
"Yes," Kiba nodded looking around. "Stay on the ground."
"Why would someone want to track me?" Tegan shook her head still lying on the ground. "It isn't like I have anything."
"No but you helped a poor village in another country," a squirrelly voice called. Tegan looked around frantically trying to pin point the location. Kiba sniffed the air finding exactly where the enemy was.
"Show yourself, weasel," Kiba called growling. Out of the bushes walked a small man with a hump on his back and a weasel wrapped around his neck. All in all he looked like he had just gotten in a fight with a ravaged dog and lost.
"Come get me puppy boy, you couldn't take me before and I bet you can't take me now," the weasel man raised a weasel in his defense.
"He is attacking with weasels...." Tegan starred with a blank face. "Wow I am so scared."
"Shut up little girl!" the weasel man called throwing a dead weasel at Tegan. Nothing happened, it just lay on the ground where he left it. "Crap," the man mumbled scared. "I shouldn't have given then the cat food!"
"That is it!" Kiba growled throwing some Kunai. The weasel man got on all fours and scampered away, with the dead weasels dangling behind.
"That was weird," Tegan stood crossing her arms. "Thanks for telling me about that Kiba."
"That wasn't what I wanted to tell you," Kiba mumbled turning all red. "I wanted to say-well I thought that- I mean I-" Kiba paused looking at the ground. "I wanted to know-I love you okay! Ever since we met in the woods i can't stop thinking about you! It is so annoying sometimes."
Taken back by this Tegan starred shocked. She thought about Kiba a lot but was too embarrassed to express her feelings. "I-Kiba!" Tegan ran over embracing the total stranger, all she knew was his name. "I love you too, I don't know how but it has felt like I have known you my whole life!"
"Tegan will you be my girlfriend?" Kiba asked kissing her cheek.
"Yes," Tegan smiled hugging tighter, "I always wanted a caring boyfriend, now I have one." Tegan buried her face in Kiba's jacket, as he tightened his grip.
"Don't worry I won't let any ninja touch you," he promised kissing her head.
A light breeze blew, moving the Sakura blossoms past the couple as the sun shined through the clouds. Like wolfs, in the ninja world Dogs are together for life.
