Mako Iwamatsu
1933 - 2006
I am terribly saddened to report that Mako, voice of Uncle Iroh and so much more, has passed away. He died at age 72, from esophageal cancer. He was an amazing and inspirational person, and will be greatly missed. You can read more about him in the LA Times article.
May he rest in peace.

On a lighter but still serious note I can't help but notice that not that many people are Messaging. It is for this reason that I will not update the next quiz until i get 30 votes

thats soo sad!!!!!
Wahhh Zuko hold me!
ok 30 votes got it.
"Zuko please, that's enough..." Even as you pleaded with your fiance he continued to glare into the eyes of Haru who didn't back down. "I'm guessing you are from the fire nation, I appologize if what Hiroshi said made you uncomfterable. However I will not appologize for helping the Avatar, this war is wrong and I shall not regret my desison." Hana looked at her lover with such proud eyes it made you smile even in a situation such as this. You watched with frightened eyes as Zuko's anger continued to rise. You had never seen him the angery, his rage shocked you, and made you want to embrace him so he would return to the Zuko you once knew. Uncle stood from his chair and placed a gentle hand on Zuko's shoulders. "We should take our leave Prince Zuko, we have no rite to ridicule thier beliefs in thier own home." he said sterly letting Zuko know he had no choice in the matter. Zuko growled and swore under his breath. "Thanks for the meal." he muttured and left the small home and headed towards the ship with Uncle at his side. You however, stayed behind and bowed before the earth kingdom family. Guilt plaiged your mind but you were not ashamed of Zuko. You stood from your chair gracefully your kimono flowing down to the floor as your body rose. Your hair than flowed over your shoulder like a silk curtain as you bowed towards the family in appology. "Please, I beg of you, forgive my fiance's outburst. We are infact from the Fire Nation's royal family, but you must understand we have nothing to do with this war it's just..." Tears. Tears began to flow down your soft skin out of pure frustration. How could you possibly explain all the hardships you and Zuko have been through? Wanting to look the family in the eye you straightened your body from its previous bow but you couldn't find the courage to do so, making your bangs cover your golden eyes. "Even though, Zuko was banished from his country he is still loyal to his father. He didn't mean to insult you, Haru or your family for that matter, but his love for his father can tend to blind his better judgement..." Haru's parents smiled towards eachother and Hana had trouble containing her emotions. "Oh Ms. Tsuki thier's no need to cry! We're not upset thier no need to be so propor with us, your a princess after all." Hana giggled and came around the table to give you a comforting embrace. "It's completly understandable," Haru added and stood beside Hana. "I know how it feels to miss a father and to stay loayal in his beliefs even in his absence." Haru said proudly and smiled at his father. A calm silence filled the room as the family began to clear the table, with your help even after Hiroshi there was no need to."Is there anything else I can do for you and your family Hiroshi-chan?" you asked timidly gaining a kind smile from him. Shaking his head no, he placed a large box in your hand. "There's enough food and engrediance for about a week- I can't have my little Tsuki not eating our deliscious Japanese food can I?" he said with a warm smile and patted your head. A few hours later you bowed gracefully before the family who had all gathered outside to see you off. "Thank you for your kindness. My Fiance and I enjoyed your company, even if he wishes to believe other wise." At this everyone laughed wihle Zuko sneezed on the ship. His Uncle chuckled and gave the cliche remark, "Someone must be talking about you," only to get a glare from Zuko who then retired to his room where he would await your return. Parting from the family had been difficult on everyone's behalf. Hana cried and gave you milk for Corrine who had left earlier in Uncle's arms. "Please Tsuki, write to me. I would love to hear of your travels..." she paused and stepped closer before whispering in your ear. "I would also like to hear about your love life." she giggled and added a wink making smile weakly. After returning to Haru's side she took hold of his hand lovingly not caring that his parents could clearly see. Blushing a deep crimson you bowed before the family and headed towards the ship somberly.
I <333 Zuko!!!!
That's right I stand up for my man!
Haru and Hana are so cute!
Zuko had heard of your return and eagerly waited for you to open the bedroom door. In your absence Zuko's thoughts had wandered to the events that occured in the hotsprings. Arroused and impaitent Zuko growled at the memmory of being interupted. he had planned to tell you his feelings after he came inside of you earlier but he never got the chance. Thinking tonight was the best time to confess his feelings, Zuko had lite the many candles in his room with firebinding. The aroma of imtoxicating roses had filled the room giving it the romantic domenor it desperatly nedded. Zuko had planned all week for this with the help of Uncle ever sence he learned of your betrothal. He didn't care that you were both already engaged, he was going to purpose to prove his love for you and to make the engagement that more meaningful. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to your prince Zuko caught sound of your slippers meeting the iron floor. Once you opened the door Zuko ambushed you, forcing against the wall with his body pressed firmly against your own. "W-What are you doing?" you asked nervously, your large golden eyes shining with innocense. With a handsome smirk Zuko pressed his lips against yours softly which didn't match the gleam in his eyes. "I have a surprise for you." he said softly after ge pulled away deciding against his impure plans. When he had pressed himself against you he noticed you had winced painfully, you were still sore from earlier. "A surprise? What kind of surprise?" you asked tiredly, exhausted from the long day or perhaps you where getting ill from being back out to sea. Whatever the cause was Zuko did note the hint of curiosity in your voice. He smiled at you with admiration, even if you were exstremly tired, you still found time to make Zuko happy which made him want to accomplish that nights goal even more. After sitting you on the bed gently Zuko stood before you with a proud smile graceing his handsome feautures. To your surprise Zuko knealt down before you on both knees and rested all his weight against your body with his head rested just below your breast. "Zuko?... What are you doing?" you asked softly, happy that he was showing you so much affection and yet you were confused, Zuko never acted so open for he feared negative actions. Ignoring your question Zuko began his speech while remaining in this position. "Tsuki..." Zuko paused and looked into your eye that where much more curious than earlier for you knew whenever Zuko called you. Tsuki instead of Suki, he was being serious and had somthing important to say. "...You understand that one day there will be a child growing here don't you?" he asked slowly making you flustered. Zuko had nuzzled his face into your belly giving infasence on what he was speaking of. One day I will give you a child my prince. "H-Hai. You need an hier-" Zuko cut you of by placing his lips against your own. "I hope you don't think the only reason you are here with me is to give me an hier..." he said sadly and took a deep breath. "Tsuki, do you remember your mother?" Zuko knew this was a topic you didn't want to speak about. When you where young your parents disapeared and Zuko's mother, Ursa, began to care for you under firelord Azulon, Zuko's grandfathers orders. That was how he and you met.
Ahhh Zuko loves me!
hurry up and purpose!
I can't wait 2 have Zuko's baby!
Zuko was always near his mother; being near his siter and father was somthing he usually avoided doing, The day he first met you, he was angry as hell. You had been sitting there innocently next to Ursa, feeding the turtle-ducks. However that was somthing on he and his mother could do, not some girl he had never met before. He never had the chance to yell for you had turned towards him, after hearing his footsteps, and gave him a beautiful smile he would never forget. It was then that Ursa knew both you and Zuko would grow to be good friends and maybe even more... "No Zuko i don't. She and my father disapeared when I was just a toddler... All I remember is my father's strong voice and gold eyes. As for my mother I can remember how beautifully she sang. I've been told I look like my mother but I have my father's eyes..." Zuko smiled up at you sadly, he hadn't meant to cause you so much pain but he needed to bring up your parents and soon his own to get his point across. "It's alright Suki, besides you will always have my mother-" Wincing slightly Zuko sighed and moved from the floor to the bed with his back resting against the headboard. Brining you with him you rested against his chest enjoying his natural warmth all firebender posessed. "Adleast we had my mother," Zuko corrected himself. "I don;t want you to end up like my mother Tsuki. My father acted as if he didn't care and we had to watch her suffer... I don't even think my father loved her." he said sadly though his tone turned harsh at the mention of his father. "I guess what I'm trying to say us, I don;t want you or our future children to go through what we did." he said quickly with a faint blush he tried to hide by turning his head away. Smiling to yourself you leaned forward and nibbled on his neck innocently to gain his attention. He turned towards you with a confused expression but didn't make you stop. Later just as Zuko originally planned Zuko admitted his feelings after making love to you. "We're not going to end up like my parents because... I love you Tsuki." he said with a loving smile and slipped a ring with a blood red jewel on your ring finger. "Tsuki, will you be my wife, not just the future mother to my child, but the one I will make love to everynight, and the one who will rule by my side?" Giving him an exhausted but sweet smile you moved closer to him so your body curled against his own. "I love you too Zuko, and I'd love to be your wife." you said in a hushed whisper before giving Zuko one last kiss and then falling asleep not knowing of the hell that was to occur the next day...

Wonder wuts gunna happen...

Flames. Raging flames from what seemed like hell itself entered your once peaceful dreams. It may have just been a dream, but it was a vivid version of a memmory, a horid memory you would later wish you hadn't remembered. You were young and naiive at the ripe age of five. In your lavish room you had been sleeping just as you were now only to be awakened by the opening of a door. Your mother, Nadeshiko was the intruder looking frightened and even in the night you could tell she was pale. While grabbing dresses and sleepware from your dresser she beckoned for you to awake. STill tired you had rubbed your eyes to try and get rid of your tiredness. Even though you did not completly understand what was occuring that night, you knew it was a serious affair when you father came into the room and whispered somthing to your mother who then began to shed tears. Lifting you from your bed your father, Daichi, took hold of the bag your mother had packed with your prescious belongings and hurried down the hallway with your mother at his side. After a tireing half an hour of navigating through the vast corridors while trying to avoid what looked like earth kingdom soldiers you and your parents finally reached the shore where a ship was waiting to set sail through the night. The wind carried the scent of the ocean as it teased your noise making you sneeze innocently with yours and your mothers beautiful raven hair swayed side to side. The full moon that shined overhead made your mothers ocean blue eyes and pale skin shine and you watched her in aw praying you could one day look so radient. Your mother took a deep breath and turned away from the ocean towards you and your father who gave her a longing smile. "Tsuki, your father and I love you very much." she said shakily before embracing you and your father. "Grow strong and dignified," she whispered into your ear soothingly. "Never let anyone take advantige of you my child, and continue living-" she paused and took a deep breath trying to remain composed as she spoke. "I want you to have this..." Your golden eyes stared into your mothers ocean blue ones with shock. A music box, beautiful in itself but the melody it played could bring the strongest man to his knees with emotion; it was a wedding gift your father gave to your mother and she treasured it. For as long as you could remember it had been a game, you trying to open the box longing for its sweet melody to reach your ears while your mother tried to stop you fearing you would damage it. "Mommy what are you doing? This is your treasure!" you whimpered and tried to push the tiny box back into her soft hands. "Take it Tsuki, it's yours now. One day you'll find somthing you treasure and you will give it away to your child when you think the time is right, as i do now..." Your father was next to speak, he kissed your forehead gently and placed you on the sand before him. You watched with fearful eyes as your father struggled with his emotions. He wanted to comfort you knowing you were confused and upset but he also knew that this was not the time for behind him the sound of people panicking reached his ears. Kneeling down to reach your height he embraced you just as your mother had and ran his strong hands through your silky hair. "You be a good girl Suki, use everything I taught you to protect yourself and became that beautiful young woman I know you will..." he said quickly trying not to cry but you had noticed. Now terrified for you had never seen your father cry you clung to his neck while your little body trembled. "Don't cry Daddy... Everything is going to be ok, right?" you asked innocently but never got an answer. A scream was heard of in the distance making everyone uneasy. Your father nodded to the man who had been waiting by the ship watching the scene and picked you up letting your mother give you one last hug and kiss before running towards the man and placing you in his arms. Your father left you returning to your mothers side who was now sobbing while you began to squirm in the mans arm. "Mommy, Daddy! Don't send me away! I'll be a good girl I promice!... Please!..." you begged with your arms stretched out towards them. A tear drop landed on your cheek startling you and making you freeze in place. The man who was holdig you was crying and held you close. "You poor child... You don't understand what's happening do you?" he asked somberly and brought you inside away from the horrific sight of an entire city burning. That man, that kind man who you would forever be indepted to, stayed with you that night soothing you as you cried yourself to sleep. You would later call him Uncle, and traveled with him by your side to the firenation where you would later meet the royal family...
Zuko had experianced his own nightmare that night, and like your own it was of a memmory, the painful memory of the night his mother vanished... Azula had come into his room after listening to her grandfather and father speak. "Dad's going kill you!" she sand after slamming Zuko's door open. "Really he is." she added with a smirk making you clench your fist. "Haha Azula, nice try." Zuko said sarcastically and sat up from his bed. "Fine don't believe me, but I heard everything. Grandfather said Dad's punishment should fit his crime. 'You must know the pain of loosing a first born son by sacrificeing your own!'" she immitated Firelord Azulon's voice while dancing around Zuko's bed posts. Zuko looked terrified but looked down towards his bed and muttured "Liar!" Azula scoffed and leaned away from Zuko. Noticing how worried Zuko had become you lept from Zuko's bed and stood before Azula. "Leave him alone!" you growled in Zuko's defence who had looked terriefied at that moment. You and Zuko were having an innocent sleepover that night for Azula had told you there were cannon crawlers under your bed and you refused to sleep in your room. So there you were in your frilly nightgown glareing at Azula who continued to taunt Zuko. "Oh be quiet Tsuki, this is my house so you can't tell me what to do!" she hissed and gripped both of your wrist tightly which eventually brought on tears. She threw you to the floor and sent another glare your way warning you not to say anything. After turning away from you her attention returned to her elder brother. "I'm only telling you for your own good. I know! Maybe you can find a nice earth kingdom family to adopt you." she taunted and grinned enjoying the fact that Zuko was squirming. "Stop it your lieing! Dad would never do that to me!" Ursa, Zuko's mother, ventured into the room and frowned when she saw you crying. "Your father would never do what to you? What is going on here?" she asked sternly and walked towards Zuko's bed. "I don't know." Azula said innocently and sat on Zuko's bed sending a gazde to you who was still on the floor. It was then that Ursa noticed you on the floor and she rushed towards you. Zuko crawled out of bed with new found courage with his mother in the room and helped you from the floor gaining a smile from his mother letting her prescious son know she was proud that he had helped you. "What's wrong little one?" she asked in a soft tone soothing you instantly. "Okaa-san? Do you want me here?" you asked innocently trying to quickly wipe away your tears. "Of course I'm happy your here... Everyone loves you, Tsuki even Ozai! Never let anyone make you think otherwise..." she pleaded close to tears. She embraced both you and Zuko and whispered, "Your like a daughter to me Tsuki, and Zuko loves you as well." "M-mother!" a small giggled erupted from your tiny body making both Zuko and Ursa smile. Ura pulled away slowly and patted your head with a warm smile. "We need to talk young lady." she sighed and took hold of Azula's wrist pulling her out of the room. "Suki... Are you ok?" Zuko asked and helped you to your feet. "I'm ok Zuko, my wrist just hurts... What about you? Are you going to be ok? You look like you have a fever..." you said worridly and stepped closer closing the gap between you. Your lips met his forehead gently making Zuko blush and stare at you with shock. "You have a small fever, I think we should go to sleep now..." you whispered and climbed into Zuko's bed feeling uneasy as if somthing was about to happen. After Zuko thought you had fallen asleep Zuko chanted, "Azula always lies, Azula always lies." constantly not knowing you were listening the whole time. "Zuko, nothing is going to happen." you whispered and rolled over so you were facing him. "T-Tsuki! Your awake..." Taking both of his hands and covering them with your own you closed your eyes and drifted of to sleep still facing Zuko leaving him flustered. Deciding to do the same Zuko fell asleep facing you with both of your hands cupped together and away from his chest resting in the middle of you both. Later that night Ursa entered Zuko's room and woke you and Zuko up. "Mom?" Zuko asked still half asleep while his mother embraced him. Ursa smiled at her sun weakly and spoke her last words to him. "Zuko, please my love, listen to me. Everything I've done, Iv'e dont to protect you..." She paused and lifed Zuko from his bed and embraced him before glacning towards the door after hearing footsteps. "Remeber this Zuko, no matter how things may seem to change, never forget who you are..." Confused Zuko nodded slowly before laying back down. He listened to his mother speak to you in a unknown laungage which he would later learn was Japanese. His mother said one last goodbye before placing the hood of her cloak over her head and hurrying through the halls. The next morning Zuko burst out of his room and ran towards the pond his mother would usually be. On the way he learned his Grandfather had died the night before, but also that Azula didn't know where his mother was. When he finally reached the pond he noticed his father who stood staring into the water. "Where is she!?" he gasped as he tried to catch his breath but never recieved an answer.
"Okaa-san!" Zuko sprang from his nightmare after hearinf your scream. Okaa-san or mother, was what you called Ursa but Zuko had no idea what it meant. Zuko panicked when he noticed your breathing was irregular and it was obvious by your reddened cheeks that you had a high fever. "Tsuki wake up!" he cried and shook you awake. Terrified your eyes darted to Zuko through the dark of the night and began to sob. Zuko blinked a few times confused, was he not the only one who had a nightmare? "Zuko..." you pleaded trying to grab hold of him with trembling hands. Finally your hands found Zuko's upperarms before wrappind themselves around his waist. "What's wrong Tsuki?" Zuko asked worridly and pulled your naked body closer hoping to give you comfort. It was then that he noticed your fever had been worse then he thought. Your whole body began to give off an unhealthy amount of heat and Zuko became terrified. He knew these symptoms for they were what his father told the whole firenation that the previous Firelord had died of. It was called the Scorched Pheonix illness for only firebenders contracted the virus and even the healing abilities of a pheonix could not save the victum of the virus developed enough. The virus is triggered by a strong instinct which most likely was fear caused by your dream. The virus causes the body to heat up until it eventually the person eventually dies, that is unless they recieve metical attention. "Dammit!" Zuko cursed and threw on clothes and dressed you as quickly as he could. He picked your limp body from the bed and ran down the hall towards Uncle's room. "Okaa-san... I missed you." you smiled and reached up to touch Zuko's cheeks. Her fever keeps going up. Now she's halucinating! Zuko thought worridly and knocked on Unlce's door. "Uncle wake up! I need your help!" Zuko growled and continued to slam his fist against Uncle's doors. The shuffling of feet could be heard from inside the room and the light of a candle could be seen under the door. Uncle opened the door and gasped at the sight of your near unconscious body in Zuko's arm. "Uncle I don't know what to do! She's going to die!" Zuko pleaded and began to shed tears. "Lay her on my bed, I'll go tell the helmsmen to head towards the nearest island though you may not like the destination-" "That doesn't matter! Just go, I don't want her to die..." Zuko growled as he layed you on the bed with a cold and wet towel on your forehead. "Where is it Uncle?" Zuko asked when he finally returned ot of breath for he had ran to wake the helmsmen and then back to the room. "Kiyoshi Island..."
