Return
^^Harry was pulled back into between by Aurian, and stepped back out into the main cabin of Hunter Aurian's space ship.
"Are you ready to leave, Ed?" Aurian asked.
"Yes, they fixed me up fairly fast. Even got me new weapons." Ed's voice said from all around them. Aurian nodded.
"Good. Let's leave then." Aurian said, walking over to one wall, and sank her left hand into it.
"Won't we be stopped?" Harry asked
"If Hunter Aurian's ship was spotted leaving at this time, then yes, we would be stopped." Aurian said, leaning against the wall as magical energy left her body. "But they won't stop us, because freighter number 1834, or the Golden Eagle, is scheduled to leave within this time slot. And that’s who they'll see." Aurian pulled her hand out, and shook it, wiggling her fingers. "Meanwhile, we" Aurian points a finger at Harry, "will be in one of the cargo holds, figuring out a way to send you back home. This time is not good for you." As she spoke, the ship rocked a little, leaving the dock. "Ed, as soon as we get several... damn it all, what's that measuring unit for space... hundred miles? Well, once we get to the edge of the stations scanners, put cloaking on us." Aurian pulled Harry through hallways, not using her 'Dark Doorway' or between. Harry could see that she was not pale anymore, but closer to transparent. Aurian walked into one cargo holds, which were large, usually empty rooms, but this one had packages in it. She dropped Harry's arm, and scratched her head, looking at the boxes like they didn't belong there.
"Ed, what did you get in this hold?" Aurian asked.
"Umm… I think that one's food. Several others are just weapons and armoring for the ship." Ed said. Aurian shook her head.
"And here I don't eat, or much when I do. Is there a hold that’s empty? Or must I use a cabin?" Aurian asked.
"I think the hold that’s farthest in is clear." Ed said, sounding unsure.
"Idiot A.I, this IS the farthest in." Aurian said, glaring at the boxes. Harry looked at her when she called Ed 'A.I.'
"Then you'll need to use the largest cabin, which is your room, Aurian." Ed said. Aurian smacked her forehead.
"Just what I need, another teenage boy gets to see my room." Aurian whispered, but pulled Harry with her around the inside of the ship.
"What did you mean when you said A.I.?" Harry asked.
"Artificial Intelligence, or a computer with a voice and personality. And attitude problems come sometimes as well." Aurian said, glancing back at Harry.
"So Ed isn't ...alive?" Harry tried to grasp this.
"He hasn't told you?" Aurian looked at the walls. "Weirdo. There is a live, breathing Edward Elric out there on a world called Amestris, along with his brother Alphonse, a military above and below him, and an insane group of nearly immortal enemies. The one here is just a copy of his personality, and a body of metal that I made. He controls the ship." Aurian said, and then pulled him into a room just as the round door spiraled open, tripping Harry.
"I'm going to make a ...well for the lack of a better name, a magic circle that will be fueled by a spell of mine called 'Raging Judgment', and that will take you, and quite possibly, but unlikely, me and the ship, to your world. Ed, have you got the cloaking on?" Aurian said, bending to draw something on the floor.
"Yes." Ed's voice said.
"Good." Aurian nodded, and then indicated a circle inside of the pattern. "Stand there, and face my circle." Aurian stood in a circle herself. The patterns on the floor glowed with a soft blue light, and when he stepped on one, nothing happened to his foot, or the pattern.
"This spell requires me to take on another form, and spread a pair of wings. And they are quite... large. I could hide them using an illusion, if you would like?" Aurian was inspecting the sword she held. To Harry's eyes, it was a regular broad sword, almost as long as he was tall, double edged, with a battered hilt and a cracked gem, it looked like a opal, set in the hilt. But Aurian held it like it was dangerous, something she never did with her swords. "Look at her though the Magic Sight (1) I taught you when I gave you the Languages." Harry looked at the blade. Aurian was her usual gold-glow form, slightly less glowing then she usually was. But the blade was a maelstrom of blue, black, white, red, green, and clear magical energies, all struggling under a slight covering of gold, and shinning bright enough to make Harry blink.
"That thing's coated with magic!" Harry said, opening his eyes.
"Yes. This is Devastryx. She has all of the elements, and they clash, so if I do not keep my will and attention on her," Aurian built shielding around both of them, and the room, and relaxed her grip on the blade. Immediately, a whirlwind of fire, with the blade at the center, sprung into life, lightening crackling around the edges and small shards of ice flying off and disappearing against the shielding Aurian had built. "Devastryx devastates." She finished, slamming shields around the blade again. "But I can tap into her power slightly, draining a bit of the fury, to fuel my spells. So. Wings or no wings? I think you might see them eventually, whether or not I show them now." Aurian's eye color flicked to purple for a moment, before returning to gold.
"Go ahead, don’t use an illusion. It'll just waste more of your magic." Harry said, shrugging. Aurian also shrugged, and faint gold feathers floated up in a cylinder around her as she touched the red gem set in silver on her collarbone. A flash of light, and Aurian had a pair of transparent, sparkling wings made of two overlapping pairs. (I have NO CLUE how to describe Aurian's Angel Wings, but I am eventually going to get a Deviant art account and put it up for all to see and stare at. So you all shall have to make do with a terrible description for now.) They were made of diamond shapes, and were in the basic shape of a dragon's wing, with a thick 'arm', four ridge-bones, and a small 'hand' at the top. On one of the pairs, all large diamonds (arm, ridge bones) were red, the medium sized ones (some inside the 'membrane') were orange and all other diamonds were small, and yellow. The other pair was blue on the edges( both), then green and the center was purple.(like a slice of pie(mmm pie) the edges, where the filling is running out(if its fresh) is blue, and then it turns green, and the center, where the two green-waves would have meet, is dark purple.) these wing paired fanned gently back and forth, and though each other, so she always had a full pair of wings, never mind the fact that they were of two different colorings and patterns.
"Ready?" Aurian said, holding her sword strait in front of her. Harry nodded.
"Powers that Be!" Aurian said, her voice sounding slightly hollow, she began to spin her sword in a pattern, and the elements of the blade flowed in a pattern of fire, ice, light, darkness, electricity and poison, and then repeated. "Let the light of your divine fury rain down upon these who have strayed from the paths of light! Let none Survive! RAGING JUDGMENT!" as she called out 'Judgment', pillars of light fell from the sky, missing Harry and Aurian completely, and hit the patterns on the floor in spiral shapes. There was a flash of light, and-
And Harry opened his eyes to see his ceiling! Sitting up, he saw his room.
"Damn it all… never again am I going to use Raging Judgment, its going to be Judgment fury, or just plain old Judgment if I can manage to cast the damn spell."
(1) it lets someone see magical aura's, what I call illusion-shimmers, magic being worked (like Alana's fire-ember from the Goddess, that made the Duke glow orange every time he cast a spell), or magic sleeping. For instance, because Aurian is a magical being, she is seen as a human shaped glow of golden magic, but if she was casting a fire spell, like Fireball, that hand would have a red glow to it, and so would the fire balls themselves.
hehehe i feel evil. this is all acording to plan, although Aurian doesn't know this.
