The year is 1995 when Joel saw the house the first time. A recent move due to her grandmothers declining health led to the town of Dante. She was still unused to Dante; in her opinion a year is not enough time to settle. She often stayed inside the house, straying out for shopping and school. Her skin was growing pale as she grew thin. In concern, her parents insisted she go out for some fresh air and sunshine. But that was pointless. The sky was cloudy all day long and the air seemed so thick it might as well have had hands to strangle her with. The walk, led her to the house.
She had heard of no rumors or gossip whatsoever in her reclusive state, but she had a good idea that the townspeople believed it to be haunted. The glass windows which might have been clear and bright if they were perhaps fifty years younger were black with a grimy mixture of ash, dust, dirt, and soot. The walls of the house, maybe painted a bright and vibrant color before, were scorched and peeling. The doorknob, probably well polished to greet visitors warmly once, was rusted into a dark grisly color. The house had been so grand and beautiful before, and now it was scorched and dirty while rotting away in a weed infested yard where all ideas of a stone pathway existing had been smashed by the overpowering force of the weeds.
Joel stared for a while at the house. She had had fun dares at home where she would have to go in some creepy old house and stay there for and hour or two. She felt as if the house was mocking her, bringing back those wonderfully painful memories where she had been so happy and free in the sunlight and clean air. She could feel the tears pricking at her eyes already. She growled angrily. The house would mock her would it? She would see about that. She stormed angrily up the nonexistent path and shoved open the door harshly before slamming it behind her, barely remembering why she did it.
After hearing the door slamming behind her, she slapped herself in the face. How stupid could she have been! She could hear her scolding parents voices, telling her to march home right now. But she ignored it, and decided to make her noble entrance worthwhile. Holes had been smashed in several sides of the house, providing enough light to look around.
A chandelier laid, covered in dust and soot, on the burnt carpet floor. Portraits and pictures that once decorated the halls laid burnt and ruined on the floor. Many fine artifacts that were structured on small pillar-like stand were destroyed and in pieces on the floor. Joel walked up the stairs cautiously as they creaked and groaned underneath her weight. On the second floor five rooms were placed before Joel. All but one on the far right were locked and boarded up. Taking her chances, she walked carefully to the door, took a deep breath, and opened it. What she saw made her gasp so sharply she could have sworn there hadnt been a breath to begin with.
A statue of elegant man wearing a suit and tie stood untouched holding a long silver platter. Behind him were five wooden coffins. On the platter, laid with care, five pieces of burnt, wrinkled, body, consisting of arms, legs, torso, chest, and head. Joel brought a hand to her mouth, feeling sick. She backed away from the statue, but her back touched the door. It had closed while she had been in a state of shock. She shook the knob frantically, but to no avail. She looked wildly about the room looking for a way out. Only a hole in the high vaulted ceiling was available, very much out of her reach. She begrudgingly looked back at the platter, feeling hopeless. She opened her mouth to scream furiously for help, but her voice choked at her own throat, refusing to budge. She stared at the platter once more, and what happened next had her feeling more terrified than she had been in her life.
The coffins began to smoke, emitting the putrid smell of ash into the air. The thick air outside pushed the smoke back down into the room, choking Joel. As she coughed and gagged, the pieces of body began to burn. A tiny spark flew from the smoking coffins and ignited the body pieces. The flames danced brilliantly in front of Joels eyes as the coffins slowly creaked open to reveal a more horrifying sight of burnt bodies, all of them missing body pieces.
Joel couldnt hear or say anything. All she felt was the piercing hot flames burn around her as she smelled the smell of burnt flesh and flame. The handsome statue waltzed over smoothly to the place where she laid burning, and pulled out a long silver dagger, placing it at her neck
A group saw the house first in 1999. Interested and very much bored, they dared the smallest and youngest of the boys to go in. Ready to prove himself, he rushed in and looked around, seeing the burnt houses insides. He walked carefully up the stairs and went through the only open door. There stood a lovely young lady statue, with a platoon six coffins behind her and a silver platter.
The End.

Ooooo, spooky...
Happy Halloween! Muahaha!>:D
