Reese's dark brown bangs hung in her eyes as she walked through the hallway, her classmates and teachers staring at her accusingly.
They had probably heard about what she did the previous night. She had never intended on it happening, but then again, she never did.
Drugs do that to people. Make them do things they would never do under any other circumstances. She was aware of the consequences, but ignored her sister's warnings and went to the party anyway.
Choosing to ignore the constant attention, Reese opened her locker and pulled out her Math textbook and headed for room 383.
She sat in her desk and crossed her feet in front of her, laying her head on her desk. She was still sleepy from the night before, which she only half remembered.
"Reese, pssst, Reese." a voice whispered her name, not five minutes after the tardy bell had rung. She groggily lifted her head and turned to see who was calling her.
"What do you want Ray?" she asked her friend, noting his amused expression.
"What exactly happened last night?" he inquired, as she rolled her eyes.
"What, no one has told you? If you want to know the truth, I really can't remember all that well. You'd have better luck asking someone else." she replied, turning back around.
What did happen last night?
Not remembering was making her even more nervous. A thin film of sweat formed on her neck and in the palms of her hands.
The teacher took note of Reese's behavior, "Ms. Barker, care to pay attention?" he asked, from the front of the room.
She again lifted her head from her desk, "Sorry, I don't feel well today." she answered.
He sighed, "Well, would you like to go see the nurse?" he offered.
She shrugged and stood up, gathering her things. She had no intention of going to the nurse, but she wasn't going to pass up the chance to get out of class.
Walking out of class, she went directly to the bathroom. Standing in front of one of the many mirrors, she clenched her eyes shut, attempting to remember what had happened at the party.
She remembered talking to her friends Frank and Kayria. She remembered the weird kid with all the piercings trying to get her to dance. She remembered taking the pills that Audrey had given her. That was it. Nothing else came to mind, but she knew that something else had happened.
Voices getting clearer proved someone was about to join her in the bathroom. She quickly dodged into one of the stalls to avoid being seen, although she didn't exactly know why.
Keeping quiet as possible, she listened as the two girls continued to talk.
At first she just ignored the meaningless conversation, but then she pressed her ear to the stall when she heard her name.
"Yeah, I heard she was all over that guy. Not that he minded to much, but they were both completely high off something."
Reese backed up further into the stall, not wanting to hear anything else. She pretty much got the idea from what had just been said.
Her mind began to race. She had done stupid things before, but she had always been careful as far as guys. She didn't want to end up pregnant or with some sort of disease.
Her head was pounding, and she felt extremely dizzy. Propping herself up by her arm, she felt her stomach flip and she emptied the contents into the toliet in front of her.
Evidently hearing her, one of the girls swung open the stall door, "Oh my God, are you okay?" the girl asked, leaning over Reese as she layed sprawled out on the floor.
"I'm going to get the nurse." her friend said, leaving the bathroom. Reese closed her eyes, ignoring the girls persistent prying questions, and soon found herself asleep.
Later, she woke up on a small examing table in the nurse's office. Her head was hurting worse than before, and now her throat felt raw. She looked around to see a smiling nurse standing at her feet.
"Hello, Reese. Glad to see you are awake." the woman said, moving to Reese's side. "How are you feeling."
"Fine." Reese lied.
The woman smiled wider at her, "You sure?"
Growing impatient already Reese sighed, "Yes, I'm fine, can I go now?" she asked.
"Sure, but if I you end up in here again, I'm sending you to the doctor. I've called your mother. She seemed concerned about your health." the woman replied.
"Yeah, sure she is." Reese commented, rolling her eyes. She hated her mother, and her mother hated her.
"Well, its lunch time, so make sure you eat something." the nurse said, ignoring Reese's reaction about her mother.
"Right." Reese huffed, walking out of the office.
Stepping outside, Reese pulled her jacket closer to her body, as the wind sent a chill up her spine. She continued to the lunch room and got in line.
Up ahead she saw her friend DeAnn ahead of her, talking to a guy she didn't recognize. He was tall and and thin, with black rimmed glassed and messy brown hair. He looked familar.
Reese tryed to think of where she had seen him before. Before she could, DeAnn saw her and drug the guy with her over to where Reese was standing.
The more Reese looked at him, the more familar he looked, and she was growing irritated at her fuzzy memory.
"Reese, this is Mikey. He's new here." DeAnn said, grinning. "Mikey this is Reese, my best friend." she continued.
"Yeah, we've met." Mikey replied, smirking. DeAnn looked at him, confused, then back at Reese."What? When?"

Reese looked at Mikey, hoping to remember. She had a feeling he knew something she didn't know, and didn't want to know.
"Reese? You know him?" DeAnn was still asking.
Reese felt sick at her stomach again, "Um, I'm not sure I remember you...sorry." she told Mikey.
"Well, we didn't talk much. You got to know my brother a lot better." he said, smirking.
Reese swallowed the lump in her throat, "Who's your brother?"
Mikey looked confused, "What? You don't remember Gerard?" he stepped back a little. "Seems like you would if you ask me."
Gerard. The moment Mikey said that name Reese remembered.
"Oh shit."
