"HAHA! One more time Daddy!" A little girl of 6 shrieked with laughter as her father lifted her off the ground and spun her in circles.
"Ok, but this is the last time! Daddy's getting dizzy!" He picked the girl up again. She laughed her sweet, musical laugh once again. Her father smiled and chuckled, then put her down. "That's all the spinning your daddy can handle!" he laughed.
The little girl put on an innocent pout. "But Daddy? One more time! One more time! One more time!" she shouted.
"Now, what's the magic word?" he said sternly, but he had a bright twinkle in his eyes.
"PLEASE! One more time PLEASE Daddy! Again again again!" she shrieked happily as he lifted her up again. "WHHEEE!"
Finally putting her down, the little girls father smiled at her. "Now, why don't we go inside. Maybe, if yoiu're really, really good, I'll let yuou have ice cream," his voice dropped to a low, playful, secretive whisper, "BEFORE dinner!" The little girl screamed with joy and took off towards the house as fast as her little legs would aloow. Her father laughed and called out to her,
"Jenna! Jenna! Jenna, wake up!" Jenna's husband called to her, waking from her nogstalgic dream. Jenna sighed as she got up, and got ready for another monotonous day.
"What I wouldn't give to be 6 again. With not a care in the world. Fantasies, were real, and reality didn't even exist yet. To have a world of magic and love and dreams." she said to herself.
"And put your stupid dishes away when you're done!" Harry shouted.
"Maybe if you put the clean dishes away I would be able to! God, sometimes I think you just expect me to be some.. some 1950's housewife! Well, I've got news for you: Not gonna happen!" Jenna screamed back at her husband. She stormed up to the bedroom and thought, "When did I lose it? What happened to the love I felt as a child? What's wrong with this?"
"Tell me a story! PLEASE!" the same little girl pleaded, making her large blue eyes go wide. Her parents looked at each other.
"You want to tell it or should I?" her father asked her mother. Jenna's mother just smiled and backed out of the room.
"A story Daddy! A STORY! One with a princess! And a castle!" Jenna cried. Her father looked thoughtful.
"Hmm...Well, I DO know one..."
"Tell me! Tell me tell me tell me! Oh, Daddy, I want to be a princess! " she shrieked.
"Ok then...
"Once upon a time, there was a beautiful little princess named Jenna. She lived in a ginormous castle with her mommy and daddy, the King and Queen.
"Now Jenna had many friends, one of them a fairy, named Carlito. Carlito granted every wish Jenna made. Carlito took Jenna all over the world, to visit all the other pretty princesses and the handsome princes. But none of them were ever prettier or sweeter than little Jenna. One day, little Jenna met the frog prince. He seemed very unhappy.
'What's wrong Mr. Frog Prince Sir?' Little Jenna asked.
'Well, I have a problem.' the Frog Prince said. 'I need a Princess to be King, but none of the Princesses want to kiss me.'
Princess Jenna was not only the cutest princess in thw world, but also the nicest. She offered to help the young frog. 'I'll give you a kiss, if it will help you.'
'Oh, yes it will!' So, Jenna picked up the frog and gave him a kiss A crown popped up on his head. It was the King's Crown!
'Thank you so very much! As a reward, you will forever be the Frog Queen!'"
"REALLY!? I get to be the FROG QUEEN!?" Jenna shouted.
"Yes! You do! You were the bestest queen ever! Now, my princess, YOU need to go to bed. Have sweet dreams, my princess!"
"Thank you Daddy. I love you!" Jenna said, yawning.
"I love you too Princess."
"Good night Daddy." Jenna whispered.
"Good morning Jenna." And once again, she was awakened.
"Are you ever going to even think about... Oh, I don't know, CLEANING UP YOUR MESS IN THE LIVING ROOM?!" Jenna screamed.
"I SAID I need to REST! Why don't you do just ONE thing for me!" her husband bellowed.
"Lookie Mommy! Come see this Daddy! Look at what I caught!" Jenna waved her hand in the air, using the other to clutch a jar protectively to her chest.
"What is it sweetie? What did you get?" her mother questioned.
"Oh, do you see that! Do you know what you've got there, Jenna?" Jenna's father asked.
"Do YOU know what it is?"
"It's a firefly, sweetie! Good job!" Jenna shook her head and frowned cutely at her parents.
"No, no no! It's Tinkerbell! Mommy, Daddy, I got TINKERBELL!" Her eyes widened excitedly.
"Wow! You caught Tinkerbell!"
"YES! And guess what! Now, she'll make me FLY! And I will get to see Peter Pan and I'll go to Neverland! I'll be a kid forever and ever! Mommy, Daddy, you cancome with me! We'll have lots of fun and get to meet Indians and the Lost Boys! Let's go Mommy! Let's go Daddy!" Jenna ran back to the house with her parents behind her.
"Jenna! Wake up dear."
Ripped from another wonderful dream! When will it stop!? She wondered, then thought,
"Where did it all go?" she thought outloud. "What happened to all that childish innocence? The love from my young heart?" And, as if she knew the answer all along, it was there.
"It was in me all along! I just hid it as I grew up, but I still have it! It wasn't lost, just misplaced."
With that revelation, Jenna smiled, suddenly happy for a newday.
"I think I'll go look for angels in the clouds."
"Youth is not an age, but a state of mind. Don't let your inner child run away."
Thanks for reading. Happy...Whatever.

Everlasting Youth; Forever Young
I couldn't find the song I wanted, so I used this one, also by Faith Hill. I wanted Fireflies, but I couldn't find it. Grr. And I finally finished this. I wrote it in my little notebook a while ago, but never typed it up. Finally, I finished it! I hope you like it.Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
