I walked into the chancellor's office to see him, Crowler, and.. "Kaiba?' I asked. "I see you've recovered some, Clarity" Shepard said in hopes to see me smile. "You want me to leave the island, huh...? I understand, I've over stayed my welcome" I said looking past the Chancellor, starring into the blue sky. They looked at each other. "Far from it, my dear. Syrus and Jaden told me about your relationship with Professor Banner" Chancellor explained. *I wouldn't call it a relationship..* I thought. "I understand", he continued, "He taught you quite a bit about Para-dueling and Duel Alchemy, correct?" "Well, not everything, but he tutored me for about 3 or 4 years" I explained. "What baldy is trying to say is that we want you to take Banner's place." Keiba said bluntly. "Baldy?!" Shepard said defensively. "As I was saying, you can finish off this year and continue on to next semester.." Kaiba continued. "And keep those slifer slackers in line!!!!!" Crowler added with sneer. "Well... I don't know.." A scratching was heard at the door. "What now!!" Crowler barked. He opened the door as Pharaoh ran in, hopping into my arms. "Hey teach.. What's up?" I heard Jaden's voice from outside. "Slifer Slackers! This is strictly confidential! Get out of here, or I swear, I'll get you expelled!!" Crowler yelled. "Busted, Sy!" Jaden said as I heard him running down the hall. "Wait up, Jay!!!!" Syrus yelled. Crowler returned into the room with a deadly glare on his face. *Oh jeeze, Jaden..* I though as I sighed with my and over my eyes, shaking my head in embarrassment. Kaiba looked into my eyes, crossing his arms, "Well, give me an answer. I don't want to stay here long. The 3 men starred seriously at me, as Pharaoh gave out a large 'nyaow'.
(jaden's P.O.V.)
(monday 1:30)
"Jay, Have you seen Clarity around lately? She's been kinda scarce the past few days.." Syrus said as he scanned the class for Clarity, "well, she always seemed to pop up out of no where during this class." Jaden shrugged, taking in the stale air of the room, "Yeah, Because Banner was teaching, Sy... Now that he's gone, she's been kinda distant." "Why are we here if no one's teaching this pointless class?!" Chazz abruptly interrupted. About to continue on with his ranting, the door to the room opened wide as Pharaoh scuttled in, fining his place on top of the desk at the front of the room. The large cat let out a feline-ish squeak; a yawn of sorts, drifting to sleep. A figure continued into the room, commanding the attention of the students. This person walked in, ignoring the whispers filling the room. "New teacher?" Alexis asked. Chummly shrugged, starring down at this mysterious new teacher as he wondered the same. Her hair, pulled back into a tight bun with bags hanging in her face, made her look the part of a librarian, facing away from the her class. Clearing her voice, she turned to her students, "Good afternoon." Her hair came un-done, letting the small black band fall to the floor and her long locks flow down her back. "Let's begin where you left off." Syrus' eyes widened as Jaden's jumped to his feet, "Clarity! But... How....did... you.." "Why is miss queen of games teaching..?" Chazz said in his bad-ass attitude. Clarity sighed, starring into his eyes. "Chazz, you may call me PROFESSOR Hurata, if you don't mind" she said, as she began to smile sincerely, "Now, you left of at Alchemic symbols and meanings..."
(Clarity's P.O.V)

Class finished for the day as stuudents found their way out of the room, leaving me at my desk. I stacked papers, filing them away into my bag as Pharaoh jumped in, ready to go back to the dorm. Jaden, Syrus Chummly and Bastion walked over to me, smiling as if they saw Chazz being beat up by Alexis for walking into the girl's dorm. "Need help?" Asked syrus, reaching down to put books in my bag. "Great class! I didn't fall asleep once!" Jaden announce with pride. "Yes, a very interesting class. I never knew you were so knowlegable in alchemy" Bastion added. I sighed heavily, looking up at the boys as I smiled, "Thanks, Lyman taught me well in the past."
At dinner, I made a mori soba with fried shrimp on the side. Slifers filtered in as they sat down, questioning what I made. *I don't see how people won't eat your food* I thought, as if to be talking to Lyman. I looked over at Jaden and Syrus who seemed to be enjoying the dish. Smiling, I got up and began to clean the kitchen, picking up trays of half eaten food.
Not too long after, the slifers had left for bed. I walked out of the dining hall and opened the door to Lyman's room. "I guess I can call this home now" I said to myself as Pharaoh jumped onto the bed, letting himself fall asleep once more for a post-dinner nap. I sat down next to the night stand, looking down into the picture of us. "Lyman. No one can replace you.. I promise."
I then heard a knock at my door. Sighing, I moved away from the night table, "Come in." Jaden and Syrus walked in, closing the door behind them. The cool night air rushed in, sending a chill down my spine. "Hey, Clarity. Sorry, if we're buggin' ya" Jaden said sitting on the floor with Syrus. I joined them, handing the boys a cup of tea. "No Problem. Is Chum asleep already?" I asked. Syrus nodded, "With his big duel with Crowler coming up, i'm sure he's beat." Jaden sat up, looking into the photo on the table next to us. "You said you had to leave him when you were young. What's the deal? Why would he make you leave?" Asked Jaden. I looked up into the ceiling, than at the boys, "He was a troubled man, but all he wanted was to save my life....."
(flash back)
It has been nearly a week since I returned from Battle City. The day I returned home, Lyman wouldn't let me out of his embrace. Now, I haven't seen him at all for a few days. He had kept himself secluded some where in the house.
I had turned 11, not too much earlier and my abilities in dueling and controlling my shadow power have improved in such a short amount of time.
I sat in my room, looking out the large window as I stroked Pharaoh's head, "Lyman, where are you?" I asked to myself. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Clarity, I need to talk to you" I let Pharaoh jump to the floor, "Lyman, what's wrong?" I asked. He sat down next to me, putting his hand on top of my head.

"Clarity, as time passed, I relies I can no longer hide this from you. I have told of my studies in Alchemy. In the long run, this has taken a toll on my body."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that this illness, the alchemist's curse you could say, can and will kill me at any time" Lyman explained. I looked up at him, unsure of what he was talking about. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted to keep you from worrying. But now it's serious."
"Lyman, I-I don't understand."
"Clarity, you must understand. you are in great danger. I don't want you to leave me, but for your safety-"
"How did this happen?!" I exclaim.
"It just did", Lyman replied. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
"I won't leave you, I can't! Please tell me this isn't happening!"
"It is. If you don't leave, you could be killed by this! You must understand, Clarity!"
"No! I don't understand!" He wiped away the tears with the cuff of his shirt. He gave me this endearing look of sympathy and sadness. "What if you're effected by this as well? What if you die from it? I would never forgive myself." "What if YOU die? What then? I won't be here for you. I-I would rather die knowing you're near me!" "don't say such foolish things, child. Clarity, you're talented, young and.. .and beautiful. You can do anything. I would just be holding you back", he explained, "my experiment is nearly complete. I need the Philosopher's stone, then and only then will I able to save you from the shadows. " "will I see you again?" I whimpered "destiny, fate. That's what will bring us together." "never forget me." "How could I, after all you've given me" I hugged him as he did to me. The world stood still. "here, to remember me by" A small white box is handed to me. I opened it slowly, my mind racing with thoughts and fears. "Huh? Its a key" "yes, the key that binds our spirit together." "I'll wear it around my neck everyday. I promise!!" a smile spread across his face. "please, you should go, before....before" he started. "I- I love you." I whispered "I love you so much, Lyman"..........................................

(end flash back)
"SO Banner was trying to save you?" Asked Syrus. I nodded, He wanted to save the life of a little girl, in the end he didn't quite succeed." Pharaoh walked into my lap, "After I left Lyman's home, I didn't return to the Moto's. I explained that I wanted to go to a dueling academy, much like this one, far outside of Domino City, about 15 hours away in fact. Mr. Moto gave me some money. I ended up staying with my instructor ande her husband and daughter. There, I learned to cook and perfected my dueling. Just to honor Lyman and all he did for me, I studied alchemy in secret, reading books taking notes, even conducting experiments in my room. And then, 5 years later, I was called to guest speak at your entrance ceremony, so I stayed with Yugi and Mr. Moto once more, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I was going to see Lyman again. And now I'm here" I explained. Jaden sat there speechless, with his mouth agape like an idiot. "You did all that at 11?!?! No way!" Syrus exclaimed. I nodded, "But I'm staying put, right here. I'll continue where Lyman left off. Time to start a new chapter.." A smile found it's way into my expression. "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Run for the hills!! She's happy!!!" Syrus yelled. "Totally Sy!!!!! We're all gonna die! It's the apocalypse!!!!!!!" Jaden yelled back. My smile changed to annoyance as I smacked there heads together. Jaden and Syrus rubbed their heads, "I'm your teacher and dorm advisor now. Don't mess with me.....................

XD sorry that took so long!! and i have to admit but that part was really sappy, but oh well, live with it.... i'm kinda sad it's over, but i decided that Clarity's story should continue, so i'm writing a second "book" on top of other stroies i'm gonna write. I promise to stay on top of it this time!!! (thanks to all my readers.... that means u mel.jones and pharmacygirl......(shay, don't send me to the shadow realm!!!)
