I didn't even notice when he walked into the dingy classroom. I was too immersed in trying to scribble out my anger. So much was happening and all in the first day of school. He sat down in the seat in front of me, instantly turning around to watch my fast moving hand. "Killing the paper isn't going to solve anything." He said. For the first time I looked up, and took in my surroundings. I sat there for a moment taking it all in. The scent of mold filled my nostrils. Posters promoting reading hung in the far corners of the room, and a small cluttered desk sat in the corner. The room was a breeding place for disaster. Windows were open, as though to let in the non existent light that the dark storm clouds hid. I shuddered. How was I going to get through this year? Finally, my eyes focused on him. This boy was the definition of gorgeous. Curly blond hair that stuck to his forehead, and electrifying blue eyes. "Well, its either the paper or you." I finally replied with a smirk. His lips curved into a smile. "Now, now Madi, be nice." Lily said as she sat down in the seat across from me. I smiled. "Hey Lily." Lily and I had been friends since about the 7th or 8th grade. Either way, she knew more about me than most of my other friends did. Which isn't really a lot. It takes a lot for me to completely open up to someone. The one and only time I did, it blew up in my face. "Madi? Thats your name?" He asked. "Yeah, and your's is?" "Blake." I smiled. "Nice to meet you blake." I smirked. "I'm sorry for threatening you." "Forgiven, BUT only if I can get a hug." He smiled. I laughed and leaned in as he sqeezed me tightly. "Friends?" he asked, smiling. (I swear, that smile could make anyone melt.) "Best" I laughed. "Aww, I love new friends." Lily said. "Hi, I'm Blake." Blake said sticking out his hand. Lily took it and she nearly fell out of her desk from his shaking. No one noticed the small frail frame of a woman enter the room. Sarah came in next sitting down behind Lily. I hadn't know Sarah very long, but she was pretty awesome. She was one of the most random-est(is that even a word?) people EVER. "Madiii" She called. "Sarahhh" I replied. "Meet my new bestest friend, Blake ." "Ohmygod madi, I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR BESTEST FRIEND?!?" "Ugh, no wayyy, Blake's waay better than you" Sarah made an attempt at fake crying, but burst out in laughter. "God, I missed you guys. Hi Blake," She said looking towards him. "Hi Madi's old bestest friend." He said smiling. "I have a feeling I'm going to like this class" Lily announced. "I wouldn't be so sure of that," I said as I noticed the teacher frantically searching through the mess of papers on her desk. Her mousy brown hair was scattered, crooked glasses lay on the tip of her nose. I could tell she was very conservative by the way she was dressed. Long, plain, off white skirts that nearly reached the floor and a plain white sweater. Her eyes looked black and where glazed over giving her insane type of look. "The teacher looks like a complete nut." "Thats the understatement of the year," Blake said "She looks clinically insane. I shuddered as her cold lifeless eyes met mine. I quickly broke the connection. "Remind me to stay on her good side." I said. "Remind me to lock my doors at night." Lily added. I laughed. "Stalker really?" "Must you say really after every word?" Sarah asked. "Yeah, really." Lily said. "Lily!" Sarah cried. "Opps." Lily laughed. I turned around to face Blake, who was intesly studying our teacher. "Blake," I said lighly smaking him. "What?" He said, still staring. "Stop staring!" "Why?" "Oh my god, because-" My sentence was cut off by her peircing gaze. I was taken aback, as was Blake. If looks could kill...Well, you know the rest. She turned, not taking her eyes off us. We watched as she picked up two stacks of maniila folders and headed in our direction. "Take these to the office. I assume you know were it is?" She said, her voice cold and hostile. We merely nodded our heads, and took the folders she had extened in her hands. The class was silent as we walked out of the room. As we left she shut the door behind us. "Talk about insanity." Blake says. "I wouldn't want to be left alone in a dark alley with her." I said. "What's her problem?" "She's most likely depressed by the fact that she can't get any." We both laughed. "Sooo," Blake said as we began climbing down the stair case. "Why were you attacking that paper earlier?" "Hah, um, I guess I was a bit angry." "At what?" "Nosey really?" He looked down at me and smiled. "I'm sorry, but you know you wanna tell your new bestest friend." I laughed. "WELL, if you must know, I'm having some major stress issues." "And what might be causing this sudden case of stress?" "Friends. Ex-friends." "Ah, I see." "Yepp." I sighed. I went way deeper than that. "Well, you can always tell me if you need me to bust them one." "Hah," I said while opening the office door. "I'll keep that in mind."
