The moon rose high above the sky. It's silver light breaking through the thickness of the shadows. The light shinned brightly upon the land of Hyrule. Making it easy to see. You walked silently down the dirt road. You had given up on Link. What if he had really dissapeared?
"Ah, well." you sighed.
You looked to your left, spotting Shade's ocean glow. The little mystic being was fast asleep. It's tiny white wings rising everything he breathed in. You giggled at this. It was pretty cute.
Turning your attention back at the road, you continued your journey, heading off to somewhere you haven't been in a long time. You soon found yourself standing infront of a hill. Placed ontop of that hill was none other than,
"Lonlon Ranch?" you questioned, tilting your head to the side. But the giant sign read: Ingo Ranch.
"What the-" You stepped up onto the hill, entering the place.
The place looked excatly the same as it did seven years ago. Your eyes brightened as you dashed across the field, being carefully not to wake up Shade. As you reached your destination, you smiled at all the horses that roamed in the field. Unfourtuantly, the fence surrounding the animals cut your off. The gate to the entrance was also locked.
"Aww... This is no fun!" you proclaimed after giving up on the lock. You gently walked a bit father down the racing track. A cinnamon mare with a white mane had caught your eye.
"Epona!" you had quickly reconized that horse to be her.
Around nine years ago, while the farm was still called Lonlon Ranch, you would always come to visit your good friend, Malon. One day, she introdued you to a youn pony, Epona. But as you went towards the mare, she backed up a bit. After resuring her that you weren't going to hurt her, she hesitantly truted you. As the days passed, Epona had become quite fond of you.
Malon had told you it was very rare for Epona to like someone so quickly. Her monther even composed a song to tame the wild animal. It was named: Epona's Song.
The song instantly appeared through your mind. That sweet, calm melody. Your right hand atomatically grabbed the silver whistle around your neck. A flash of silver flashed in your hand. Your whistle than become longer, it took the shape of a flute, The Flute of Time.
You pressed your lips to the mouth of your flute. And almost instantly, the warm melody rang through the night.
From above, a girl with red hair in a gown came to her window, to see what had woken her up.
"What in the world-?" she rubbed her eyes, trying to see what- or who was producing that melody. Her sleepyness went away as she saw who was playing the song.
"That's- That's Epona's Song!" gasped the girl. "Bu-But, only, mother, father, fairy-boy and Kita knows that song!" Then it became clear to her. She quickly rushed down the stairs, careful not to wake Mr. Ingo up.
You quickly stopped the melody as you felt a presence behind you. Being who you are, you waited. Your keen ears picked up the sound of footsteps. The person shifted his or her feet nervously. Then, a dim glow caught your eye. The person, or whatever it was, was holding a latern.
"W-Who are you?"
Ah ha! A female!
"Wha-What are you doing here?"
You slowly lowered the flute from your lips. A bright flash of silver glowed, then it dissapeared. The Flute of Time was once again hanging around your neck, safe.
"Anwser me!" the girl shouted, obviously getting annoyed.
You slowly turned around. Your eyes were fixed upon the character who stood in front of you. She was around your height, maybe even your age. She had long red hair that stopped at her waist. And a frighted look upon her face.
"Long time no see, Malon." you greeted softly.
"Huh?" she questioned, a bit startled that you knew her name. "How do you-?"
But she was cut off by you gently removing your hood. Your soft blonde hair fell behind your ears as your sharp ocean eyes shone through the darkness.
A bright, happy smile appeared on her lips as she dropped the latern and jogged towards you. "Kita!"
You gently hugged your friend back. It's been so long since you haven't seen here. And boy, has she changed!
You friend stopped hugging you as she took a step back. "I'm so glad! When I heard that Hyrule Castle was destroyed, I thought you died too..."
Your eyes filled with concern as you felt the sadness in he voice. "But I'm here now, right?" you asked with a light smile.
You didn't want to hear anymore. You didn't want to remember your horrible past. The day when the evil arrived, and took everything from you. The day when your father passed away, when your sister and guardian left, the day when your best friend disapeared and... The day when your life changed forever...
"Kita?" Malon's soft voice asked.
Her voice was like a light, briging your back from your dark past.
"Hm?" you asked, showing that you were still paying attention.
"Are you alright? You seem a bit down."
"Nah, I'm fine." you grinned, proving your statement.
"I guess..." she replied, still unsure.
"Well anyways," you began, looking around the place. "What happened here? Why is it called Ingo Ranch?" That word still sounded odd to you. Lonlon Ranch was way better.
"Well, after the evil came, my father was kicked out and Ingo took over."
"Oh... I see."
"But it's alright, he'll come back. I hope." Maon said, sadness dripping in her voice.
"Don't worry, I'll find him." you resurred her.
"Thank you, Princess Kita."
Suddenly, a giant group of Stalchildren appeared around you. You cursed silently, probably knowing that Ganondorf was already looking for. Malon screamed as you quickly pulled up your hood. Shade flew out. You drew your sword and the battle began!
"Princess... Kita..." the demons hissed.
"What-? What are those?" Malon questioned, her face paling.
Ignoring her question, you simply took another step back, but no use. The Stalchildren behind you just creeped up.
"This is no fun," you breathed. Then the creatures all took one step back. Before jumping at you and the shrieking farm girl. "Nayru's Love!"
The demons got thrown back as the blue crystal like sheild surrounded both you and Malon. Th creatures came again and again, trying to skin it's claws into the un-breakable magic fortress. You sighed and sheathed your blade. You then poped down onto the ground with a sigh.
"What are we going to do?" panicked Malon.
"We?" you raised an eyebrow. "We're going to do nothing."
"But-"
"I'm going to do something." you then stood up.
"Kita," whispered Malon.
"Relax," you said as you pulled out your bow. "I'm going nowhere."
You heard Malon sigh before pulling the string back. An arrow magically appeared between the string and your fingers. You then let it go. You had aimed the arrow straight at one of the Stalchild's heart.
With a cry of pain, the demon turned to ashes and blew away into the wind. Hopefully, finding peace.
"One down, nineteen to go."
You pulled back your arrow oce more, and aimed it again at one of the Stalchild. You let the arrow leave your hands and zip through the magic fortress. But sadly, you missed. Instead of stricking the demon like you had hoped, it landed into the ground. The Stalchild that you were hoping to kill took a glance at the arrow, before fixing it's gaze back towards you. It's red eyes flared with anger.
"Alright, let's try again." you said calmly while another arrow appeared in your hands.
But this time, the designs on the arrow glowed green. Three more arrows appeared in your hands. You pulled them back even more. The green glow became brighter. Malon stood behind you, amazed.
How did Kita learn all this? wondered Malon, eyeing your weapon.
"Farore's Lightning!" you yelled. The three green arrows escaped the ble fortress and turned into at least ten more deadly arrows. They blazed quickly through the air, leaving a trail of green light. Cries ehoed through the night as the victims of the deadly arrows struck the Stalchildren. Some missed, but at least five fell to the ground.
"Alright, six down, fourteen left."
But before you could even summon another arrow. Screams were already beginning to fill yours and Malon's ears.
What? you asked yourself as your blue eyes sharpened, trying to see the attacker.
But because of the spell, you could only see a black figure. Who ever this was, was at least killing every creature in his or hers way. After every last Stalchild fell to the ground, the fortress of blue dissapeared.
"Who are you?" you asked firmly while tightning onto the hilt of Nightfall.
From behind you, Malon's eyes brighten "Li-humph!"
You spun around, to see Malon's mouth being covered by a Stalchild. One that you probably missed.
"Let her go!" you demanded while threatning the demon with your arrow. The monster took one glance at you, before turning back to the girl. He was dragging poor Malon to the exit of Ingo Ranch.
"Hey! I said let her go!" you cried out, threatning to unleash an arrow.
But before you could, more of the Stalchild crawled up from the ground. You gurnted as you placed your bow behind on your back. You took out Nightfall. The blade's blue aura hissed in lonely darkness.
"Need some help?"
You turned towards the direction of the voice. The same person who had killed all the other Stalchildren stood there. But still, you couldn't figure out who it was. The only thing you knew was that it was a man. Probably seventeen.
"Well-?"
"No thanks." you replied coldly. Your mind screaming at you to save Malon.
The shadowed figure stayed silent. You quickly placed Nightfall in your left hand. The blade pulsed, like a beating heart. You pointing the sword at the group of monsters in front of you. Soon, the blue aura changed into a firey red one. The red glow danced upon the blade, as if it were real fire.
"Din's Fire!"
A blast of red, orange and yellow emerged from your sword. At the same time, the golden trifoce glowed brightly under your glove. The wave of fire dissapeared, leaving ashes in the place where the group of Stalchildren stood.
The figure remained silent. You began advencing, killing any other Stalchild that you missed with one swift swing. Then, the darkness began to fade away as you made your way towards Malon. She was sitting on the ground. Two Stalchildren stood over her. You pulled your left arm back, making Nightfall go back as well. But before you struck, another sword swiftly and silently killed them.
What...?
You turned towards the area where you though the sword had came from. And within the shadows, a silver swords shinned in the coming daylight. The character in the shadow sheathed his sword.
Malon quickly stood up, still a bit shacken by what she h just exprienced. She turned towards the shadows, a smile forming on her lips.
"Thank you, Link."
What?
Those word echoed through your mind. Was he really back?
"Kita-?" Shade whispered in so long. He turned towards the one Malon had called Link.
During the fighting, he had hid himself back in your cloak. Remeber, anyone with a fairy was not to be trusted.
"You're welcome," the figure stepped out of the shadows.
It's him! Link...
He may have looked different, but that smile of his would always tell you that it was him. Your eyes softened under your hood as you quietly sheathed Nightfall.
You compeletly spaced out as Link was talking with Malon. They laughed and smiled.
Link...? You're alive... Thank god,
"Oh hey, great fighting back there." Link stated while nociting you.
You remained quiet staring to the side. Why couldn't you say anything? You were really happy that Link was back but-...
Malon seemed to nocite this. She smiled to herself and slipped away sliently back in her house. Not bothering how the two of you knew each other. And, knowing that this was something she shouldn't be interferring with.
"Is something wrong?" Link asked softly.
You only looked away. The wind began to blow, causing your blonde bangs to fly around. The cloak your carried on your shoulders opened and closed, revealling your warrior outfit. And finally, your hood flew off.
Link's eyes widened as he saw you finally open your eyes. Your ocean blue eyes blinked a few times. Then the went back to stare at the Hero of Time.
Link's eyes trailed from yours and to your neck. His eyes widened once more before they softened. The neckless he had given to you shinned in the rays of light.
It's her, Kita,
A light smile formed on Link's lips as he finally spoke the words you've always wanted to hear,

Kita and Link finally met after seven years. It looks like Link kept his promise, but did Kita?
"I've returned Kita, back to you."
