I got as fast as I could downstairs, you would not want to be around my father when he got angry or upset. He would curse your butt faster than you could say "coming". I found him all alone sitting at the table, he did not look happy at all. His face was stern and coldness crept from his eyes, coming straight for me. Hopefully nothing really bad was going to happen.
"Angelina, what you said to your mother this morning about wizards and witches is unacceptable, considering you are one, I have no clue why you would say such rubbish. Your punishment, is to help your house elf with the chores this morning and this afternoon. Do you understand?" he said calmly. Usually he would be yelling by now, but since, for some reason he's in a good mood, there was no reason for yelling.
"Understood, father," I bowed as I said this and went upstairs to change into my work clothes. My wowork clothes were a brown T-shirt and long black pants that were holy and old. As soon as I got up to my room, I saw my Joel Madden poster and almost fell over for being so transfixed in his gaze. I quickly went downstairs and tried to find my house elf, who is named Fabby.
"Fabby where are you?" I called, she could be so hard to find at times.
"I'm in the kitchen," she called back.
I went to the kitchen and heard hushed voices coming from the dining room. Father was still their and Draco had come down to.
"But Father, what if she gets in Gryffindor. Then she might make friends with that Potter. Then she'll be completely against us for sure. You've seen her act about, saying how she loves the muggles," Draco whispered.
"Draco, I'm telling you to keep her in sight. Just make sure she's not hanging around with Potter and his friends. If she does hang around them, we'll lose our insight and there will be no chance to get her to the Dark Lord," Father whispered.
"What chance?"
Father whacked Draco on the back of the head. I stifled laughter. All was silent and I quietly rushed to the kitchen where Fabby was waiting for me. Draco and Father suddenly burst through the kitchen and stood agape at me.
"Hello Father, Draco, may I get you something?" I asked innocently.
"No, just do your work," Father snarled.
Father and Draco left the kitchen. I pondered the thoughts of what Draco and my father were talking about in my head. What did they mean about "losing their insight"? What did they mean getting me to the Dark Lord? Who was this "Potter"? All these thoughts entered my head and more. But, not worrying about it, I put the thoughts in the back of my head and got to work. By the time I was done, I had missed lunch and dinner and barely got to bed by midnight. The several weeks before my new school started, was the same. Draco and my father would talk in hushed tones about the Dark Lord and this Potter guy. I would spy on them and try to solve my questions. Fabby would always know about my spying. However, she never liked it and told me I was a complete fool and shouldn't worry in such things. I always ignored Fabby's comments and constantly asked her if she knew what Draco and my father were talking about. Even though I am against witches and wizards, when I got to go to Diagon Alley to do some shopping, I was totally excited. I had barely gone to Diagon Alley and went to normal people malls instead. I had bought so many things there, I could barely carry them home. I even bought a cat named Fauna, she was pure white and had the most gorgeous green eyes. Afterwards, I went to the kitchen and saw my father with Fabby.
"Father, what's going on?" I asked timidly. His eyes were bulged and his hands were nearly choking Fabby since he held on so tightly by her pillowcase which she wore for a shirt.
"This house elf, is trying to confess something, Angelina, do you have anything to say?" he asked suspiciously. "If you don't tell me at once, this house elf will burn in the fire place."
The giant fire place behind them was huge and crackling really loud.
"Please, master, don't throw me in!" Fabby sobbed. She was clutching on her pillowcase so tightly that her knuckles were white.
"The truth is, Father, I've been overhearing your conversations with Draco," I timidly said.
My father's eyes once again bulged out of his head, but slowly all the expression of anger was gone from his face.
"No, matter. Your punishment, for eavesdropping," he said rather nastily. "You lose your house elf."
He threw aside Fabby, into the fire. Her screams echoed inside the kitchen until my Father threw a bucket of water onto the fire, nothing was left, but ashes. I stared at the fire place, thinking why Fabby had to go and die, instead of me getting punished again. She tried to warn me, but I had failed and ignored her. Tears filled my eyes and I ran upstairs to my bedroom and slammed the door. I played one of my albums and sang along loudly, not caring who heard. My only friend, my own house elf, was gone. I danced and sang away the pain, but slowly came back after a few minutes. Fauna wandered into my room and jumped onto my bed. I cried into her white fur until snot began to run and she jumped away and left me all alone. I took my favorite picture off my dresser. It was a picture of me when I was seven, when Fabby had started to work for us. I held a peace sign in the air and had an arm around Fabby, her hands on her hips, ready to get to work. Out of anger and frustration, I threw the picture at the wall. I hurriedly went over to the picture, now lying on the floor, surrounded by broken glass and hugged the picture and cried some more. I wished I could let Fabby see me now. She would bring me a mug of hot chocolate and ask me to tell me what was wrong. Now there was no more hot chocolate, no more telling, and no more Fabby.
so sad, however in this sad tale, if you click on the little button, you will once again find happiness
