"Too Soon Too Late."

The words buzzed around Alex's mind as he jumped to his feet rushing to the door. The wooden door stood there creaking along it's own hinges, rocking back and forth with the strength of the wind. Alex ran forward and stopped in his racks. "She said not to leave the house." He stood there leaning against the door-frame, pondering the words.

Should he listen to her, or rush out on a whim in search of her. Either way, both could end up disasterous. A shallow laugh escaped his lips. "Kiyoko, you're so complex. This isn't real. This isn't real. This is just some sort of a sick joke." Alex repeated the words shakily to himself over and over to help reassure himself.

"Alex! Alex!", a smiling voice called out. Quickly Alex, stepped through the threashold, only to see a girl in a long white sundress billowing around her legs. "Alex!", she called waving her arms. "Kiyoko?" he asked puzzled, ruffling his black hair.

Kiyoko closed her eyes and smiled, nodding. "Mhm." And with a giggle, the midnight haired girl disappeared behind the large cherry blossom tree. "Kiyoko wait!" Alex ran forward. He was out of breath by the time he reached the tree.

Good, this is just a joke.

He looked behind the tree only to see her back turned to him. Kiyoko was peeking on the other side of the tree to find him. And again with a soft laugh she ran off again. "Kiyoko wait!" Alex reached his hand out, only to barely grasp the bottom silk of her dress. TIred he leaned against the tree for a moment catching his breath as he watched the girl he loved so much run off.

Maybe I should start running those few miles every morning with her..

Alex ran again finally catching sight of her. She stood against a tree twidling a white lily with her fingers. He slowed down for a minute as he realized she wasn't really paying any heed to him. He crept up quietly, forgetting all those creepy messages and wrapped his arms around her waist. She felt so warm.

Kiyoko turned around with a smiling face, and their eyes met. Usually, her piercing blue eyes were the window to her soul, but today they seemed different. The pathway in her eyes were blocked..

"You caught me."

Kiyoko turned and their lips met, which sent a freezing shiver down his spine. Alex opened his eyes a minute, and she was gone.

Confused Alex called out her name, but there came no reply, only the rustling sound of leaves fluttering at his feet. He stood there puzzled for a minute and again something white caught his attention. He cautiously looked down to see a white lily rolling on it's side by his feet.  GIngerly he picked it up.

The scent quickly bought the memory of Kiyoko back to him. Then he suddenly turned as if something was calling him. He looked to his right and saw Suzume and Edward. Two of his greatest friends. Edward was his brain of a cousin and Suzume was the ticking time bomb of his girlfriend, and Kiyoko's best friend.

Quietly he ran up oto the couple. "Where's Kiyoko?", Alex asked quickly letting the sudden rush of worry pass over him. Suzume looked up at him for a moment puzzled, "She's gone." Suzume anwsered slowly.

"Where'd she go then?", Alex asked smiling to himself. She's probably at the craft store, or at the racetrack. Edward and Suzume's faces sank as if they were in total sync with one another. "She's gone.", Edward said quietly.

"What do you mean by gone?" Alex asked, without thinking.

Suzume's voice rose angrilly. "She's dead! Kiyoko is dead! You were the first to find out! She died weeks ago!"
