Hours after realizing there wasn't much he could do about the letter he let himself sink into the comfortable bed around him and the painkillers kick in. Our Players mind slowly wandering around this dark corridor where nothing is everything and everything is nothing, where all he can remember is the good words and the funny moments of his life one moment, and the next everything thats ever made him angry. He moves so frequently between the two extremeties while he lays alone in the room he doesn't even remotely snap out of it until his nurse comes in at the end of her shift for her last round.
"Are you talking to yourself?" She cocks her eyebrow and looks at him funny as she checks his needles and the machine he's hooked up to. His motor functions are working more steadily and he can lift his arms now.
"I was waiting for someone to talk to is what I'd like to think. Hoping they would walk in and take their part in my conversation. I lucked out, I got the best choice for a fellow talker out of all the people in all the worlds," His mind still under the affect of the drugs they have him on he follows his own toughts loosely and they come out as unique and awkward as he once considered himself. She smiles. It's not only cute it amusing in the way he spoke it.
"Only one world sweetie. I think maybe you should get some sleep," She smiles treating him like a younger child.
"It just seems that way because the only important thing in any world is standing right beside me," He smiles again. She stops and looks at him...it's hard for her to understand why someone she barely knows would say something like that to her, it's hard for her not to question if somehow he must know her, he might have developed that rare case of love at first sight. She shakes her head after staring into his eyes for to long...and she smiles and touches his nose.
"Get some sleep," She leaves, resisting any urge to continue conversation or talk longer to this man divinginto her curiousity. She resists, and regardless of any remark he says as she walks out, she continues and closes the door to give the shift up to the next nurse. Inside of her the question lingers only momentarily if that was the moment something could of really happened for her, its quited, by that proud strong feeling so few still have. That I will not be swayed from my goal, I will not be turned from my ways, I will not be beaten by my own indulgance's. A rare and strong feeling that no longer lingers in many.
"Come again," Our Player watches her walk out, half loving the way her but moves in the outift, the other half of him wondering what it would be like to kiss her. Then the door closes, and his mind switches uncontrollaby to self-hate and doubt. "What's wrong with you fool, why would you hit on her you have enough women. I have no woman, I have shadows of women. That was a woman, walk away girl, you should never stay near someone like me. Shut-up! The hell's wrong with my head, what did they give me, they poisined me, Lillith and Gerry and Helena, that chicken, poison! What poison! It's an STD. Irony, no, poetic justice, different...fuck! Fuck is going on in my head!"

After a few minutes he passes out, around night time Gerry returns, he is not alone...
"What's up man?" Gerry walks in with his head down as The Player wakes up slowly the drugs no longer affecting him so strongly. He barely remembers even talking earlier.
""What's wrong?" He look at Gerry's face knowing something isn't right. Then he looks around and see's three cops walk into the room with Helena behind them.
"Lillith little brother is missing, you know, the one that shot you," Helena looks at him with heavy brows and a hard stare. Her eyes are slightly watery with thoughts on what might of happened to the boy who was just defending the honor of his older sister. She thinks hse'll never understand men. None of them really seem the same when the skin is removed.
"I don't get you," The Player looks at her, her sad eyes, remembering her hateful eyes. remembering Lillith the day he slept with her, the day he saw her before he came to the hospital. The way Tessa looked at him when she drove off. He thinks how he thought he knew, but he has no idea. He'll never understand women, because underneath their skin, their never the same.
"That letter man, they think that it has something to do with you. Seeing how it was because of those BB's your here," Gerry looks at him. Not revealing if he had actually read the letter or not.
"The bb gun kid? He poisined me? What the fuck, where the fuck is he, arrest his ass!" The Player looks at the cops, on of em steps forward, they all shake their head in different ways to show dissaproval of The Player's attitude.
"Look kid, you don't seem to understand. That boy is missing, worse, there was blood at the scene of his dissapearance. His blood, and we got reason to believe the you were involved in it. Seeing as you're the only one on the list of people he knew with a reason to do something," The cop gives a cocky I know you know something smirk and The Player gets a little upset.
"Fuck you, look at me. What am I gonna do to anyone. Maybe he got kidnapped or something. Why don't you check up on people that ain't in the hospital," He twitches his nose a little and the cop retaliates by getting angry.
"Look you punk! I don't care how innocent you wanna act. I talked to the sister, I know why he shot you, I know you aint no good. I looked up all your friends first to see if any of them might be able to do it for you, and go figure, the three you live with all got some kinda charges on their head. So you either spill out what the hell was in that letter they left you, or I start opening a missing persons case on you and possibly assisting and abbeding. That's for murder, cause I'm damn sure your boys aint gonna let him go now that I got a wiff of it. So unless you wanna go from a..." The cop gets cut off by The Player.
"Get the fuck outta here! My friends left me a get well note with some jokes about my mother an shit you pig fuck. Throw your badge around like it makes you superman. You act like you wanna save this kid when I see all you wanna do is put people that don't live life your way behind bars so your life can be better while they rot. I almost fucking died, my whole life is tumbling like some bad fuckin play and you got the nerve to...what's your badge number man. I think I wanna call the police station and make a report against a harrasing oficer," The Player lifts his chin up, normally he wouldn't dare talk like this to a cop. It's damn foolish, but he's overstressed and lying in ahospital bed, in a strange way he feels immunity.
"Fuck this kid he don't know shit he's just some punk," One of the other cops puts his hands on the shoulder of the cop talking and motions him out of the room. The cop lossens up a little from the verge of hitting The Player as Helena backs up. Gerry looks at the cops then at The Player and smirks because, in all honesty, where he comes from, it's nice to see someone to talk like that to the cops.
The Police leave. Ashanti comes in from behind the door. She looks over at The Player who goes from angry to instant happiness at the sight of her face. He gets a glimpse of ehr eyes and his anger drifts like a leaf across the sky to a distant place. She smiles at the way he stares at her. Helena looks at her, then at him. Everything in her is pushing her to question if its a good idea, but the look in his eyes she's never seen before. Gerry pauses for a moment to. He whispers in The Player's ear, "I'm sorry about that man, they was at my parents crib and shit...you know what, maybe I'll just let you alone for a little while dogg. Seems like you might just wanna talk for a change. Don't fuck it up, ain't no floor you can get off of you fall from that height."
Gerry smiles and starts out, Player puts his hand up. They smack hands and Gerry shakes his head. The Player nods and gerry starts off motioning Helena to follow.
"One moment," Helena walks up to him, "Regardless, of how long we've been friends, and how much love I got for you. I mean, your like a brother to me, but if something happens to that boy, and I find out it was because of this stupid ass grudge, I mean you only got poisined cause you didn't go the hospital right off the bat and...look. Two wrongs don't make a right. You remember that. That boy was just doin what he thought was justice and it almost got you killed. You go down this road, and I sware to god I will never talk to you again. I will hate you for the rest of your life..." There's a pause as his expression changes momentarily. She continues, "You treat her good, I don't hate you yet." She kisses his forehead, he doesn't react at all just looks down not sure what to think again. He's upset, but she wasn't even remotely out of line. His mind just feels guilty and yet, not angry.
Helena and Gerry leave and Ashanti walks up deciding to change the ubject to get his mind off of it as soon as possible, "Wanna watch some cartoons? I can stay until nine."
"Hell yeah," He smiles and his mind is free again. He feels warm around her, and shes sits in the chair next to his bed then turns to the cartoon network.
For a few hours they just talk and laugh at the cartoons, she kisses him once and he likes how she just goes back to watching and talking with him afterwards. around 8:30, just before the last show their preparing to watch starts, someone makes it in before they stop letting people in. Rosalie walks through the door looking at The Player laughing and watching cartoons with Ashanti. Her mind wanders, her expression is uncertain. The Player looks at her...and his entire body goes pale and cold.
What's in the next one...>
Rosalie, Ashanti arguement. He makes it out of the hospital healed but missing something he's afraid he'll never get back. The boy tied to a chair and a choice that will change his life in a way he never thought he'd have to change.
