You woke up the next morning after hearing someone shush very loudly. You sat up and looked around the living room. Bam and Novak stopped dead in their tracks.
"Sorry. Did we wake you?" Bam asked.
"No"
"Did you sleep ok?"
"Yeah"
"Good"
"Mmhmm..."
"Coffee" Novak mumbled and went for the kitchen.
"Come on" Bam said before following him. You ran your fingers through your hair before getting up from the couch and running after Bam.
Bam placed a cup of coffee in front of you as Novak took a seat beside you.
"So did you think about what I said last night?" Bam asked, sitting on the other side of you.
"What was I supposed to think about?"
"Giving your dad a second chance..."
"It's not that easy"
"Just say you forgive him"
Novak leaned over and whispered, "You don't have to mean it" in your ear.
You thought for a second and then stood up from the table. Without saying anything, you walked out of the room. You tiptoed upstairs to your dad's room.
You opened the door a crack to see your dad snuggled under the blankets, still fast asleep. You sighed and shut the door. Linde was coming out of the room next to your dad's.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing"
Linde pointed your dad's door. "Did you spend the night in there?"
"No"
"Oh. Well, do you want me to wake him up than?"
"No"
"Is no the word of the day?"
You gave Linde a shrug and started going back downstairs. Linde followed you. You went back into the kitchen, where Bam and Novak were waiting. You sat down at the table and folded your hands neatly in your lap. Linde stood behind your chair.
"So..." Bam pressed.
You blankly looked at him. "So..."
"You didn't talk to him, did you?"
"No"
"Why not?"
"Because he's sleeping and I just don't want to"
"Wake him up and force yourself to talk to him"
"I'm not going to force myself to talk to him"
"You have to though"
Linde put his hand on your shoulder. "You should talk to him, Miia"
You shook your head and stayed where you were.
"Miia, it's the only way things will get better. You need to forgive him" Linde continued. "He forgave you"
"I didn't do anything wrong though. And just because he said he apologized doesn't mean I have to accept it...You can't force me to"
"No, we can't"
"Good morning" Your dad said, walking into the kitchen. You stood up from your chair and walked out of the room.
You went down into the living room and sat down on the couch. Novak's suggestion of lying to your dad by saying you forgave him for everything, was on your mind.
It sure would be a big lie though.
"You sure are an angry person" Novak said, stumbling into the living room. He plopped down beside you and smiled.
"I'm not an angry person"
That's a lie and a half
"Just stubborn than"
"What are you getting at, Novak?" You sighed.
"That you need to forgive him. Like I said, you don't have to mean it. If you just say you forgive him, people will stop bothering you. Trust me, I know"
"You know, he's going to end up dumping you" Bam said, walking up to the couch.
"What?"
"He's getting very close to just sending you home, and leaving you alone like you asked. Your dad doesn't fuck around when he says something. When he means leaving you alone...He means never, ever coming to see you again. Or talking to you. You fuck up a relationship with him, that's it. He's gone for good"
"Whatever"
Bam shook his head at you and walked back out of the room. You were silent for a second and then looked at Novak.
"So what do I say?" You asked. "I forgive you? That seems a little forward"
"Just be sweet with him. Don't argue or yell about anything" Novak said.
"Ok"
"He'll get the hint"
"Alright"
"Cool"
You stood up from the couch. "I'm going to go get changed"
Novak nodded.
You ran upstairs and back into the bedroom your dad was sleeping in earlier. You grabbed your bag he had brought in and tossed it on the bed. You picked through the contents and pulled out your dirty jeans and black shirt. You were just about to start undressing when your dad came in.
"Hi" You said.
"Hello"
"What's up?"
Your dad raised an eyebrow at you, "Nothing..."
"Always fun"
"What are you doing?"
"Getting changed"
"Oh. I'll leave than" Your dad walked out of the bedroom. You quickly tugged off your clothes and put your new ones on. After changing, you walked out into the hallway, where your dad was waiting. He smiled at you;
"I think someone is attempting to cook, if you want breakfast"
"I'm fine, thanks"
Your dad gave a nod, "Well, I'm going to get changed"
"Ok"
You watched your dad go into the bedroom and let out a huge sigh of relief after he shut the door. Being nice to him was hard. You went downstairs again and skipped into the kitchen.
Everyone was awake and scattered around...All except Linde.
"Where'd Linde go?" You asked.
"He went back to bed. He had fun with a bottle of Jack Daniels last night" Mige snickered.
"Why don't you wake him up again, Miia?" Burton asked.
"Ok!" You ran out of the kitchen and upstairs to the door Linde had appeared from earlier. You opened it and cooed at Linde, who was curled up in the blankets, head buried in the pillows. You crept up to the bed;
"Linde..." You whispered. He moaned. You shook his shoulder.
"Ei" He cried and turned over. You chuckled and hopped over to the other side of the bed. You crawled onto it and gave Linde a kiss on the cheek, making a smile spread across his face. Still though, his eyes remained tightly closed. You did the last thing you could think of. You got on your knees, grabbed his shoulder and shook with all your might.
"Herattaa, Mikko!" (Wakeup, Mikko ) You screamed. Linde opened his eyes.
"What?" He whispered.
"Hangover?"
"Mmhmm..."
"Well, wakeup and eat something. You'll feel all better"
"I think I'll sleep it off, thank you" Linde shut his eyes.
You sighed, "Fine. Be mean. Don't hang out with lil' ol' me. I'll just leave and sob downstairs because no one likes me anymore" You got off the bed and started very slowly walking to the door. "Oh, poor me! All alone-"
You were suddenly grabbed from behind and thrown over Linde's shoulder. You started laughing as he walked out of the bedroom.
"Poor you. You woke me up and now you're stuck with me" Linde said.
"You should be thanking me instead of bitching"
"Oh yeah? Why?"
"Because you could have vomited, choked and died. No more Daniel Lioneye. What a tragedy that would have been"
Linde gasped and huffed as he brought you into the living room. He threw you on the couch.
"You're mean"
"I was being serious. I've seen drunk people vomit before. You have to roll them on their stomachs and then watch them..."
Linde shook his head at you before beginning to tickle your stomach. You kicked your legs and laughing right from your toes. Your laugh sounded like a little kids, which made Linde and your dad, who was coming down the stairs, laugh.
"Say it" Linde demanded.
"Say what?" You chuckled.
"Danny, you're the best singer and I promise never to wake you up again"
You threw your arms up. "...I love you, Danny!"
Linde stopped tickling you and nodded. "Good enough"
You sat up on the couch and patted down your ruffled hair. Your dad smiled at you. Linde walked out of the room, in search of everyone. You got up and skipped off after him. Your dad followed.
"How was the wakeup call?" Gas snickered. Linde just gave him a dirty look. You bumped into Linde's back, not realizing he had stopped.
"Sorry" You blushed, now at his side. "Coordination problems"
"I know. You used to trip over your own feet. Hence why your knees are all scarred up"
You lifted up your pant legs, showing off the few scars you had.
"I still trip over nothing" You said.
"We thought about getting you glasses" You dad piped up. "And your mother did at one point. They didn't work though. You ended up falling one day when you were coming to see me-"
*Memory*
"Miia, show Mikko what you can do" Your mother whispered in your ear and placed you down on the ground. You, having just mastered walking (...late), put your arms out and started slowly walking over to Mige, who was knelt on the ground outside of a club and had his arms out to you.
"Come on, Miia. You can do it" He cheered. You picked up the pace a little, happy that you would soon reach your destination, when you suddenly tripped. Mige and your mom both scrambled to catch you before you fell face first into the sidewalk. Your tiny glasses shattered and your chin scrapped the concrete. Tears started flowing from your eyes.
"Oh my God" Mige gasped, picking your little body up.
"What happened?" Linde asked, running out of the club. Your mother started tearing up as your chin started to bleed.
"She tripped" Mige answered. You reached your arms out to your mom and started crying harder. She took your from Mige. Linde ran back inside the club in search of your dad and something to dab your chin with.
"Sh...It's ok sweetie. It's just a little scrape" Your mother said, trying to calm your cries. Linde came back out of the club, your dad running behind him. Your mother took the tissue Linde was giving her and placed it on your chin.
"Thanks. I'm going to take her home" Your mother said. Mige and Linde nodded. Your dad picked up your broken glasses and watched as your mother ran you back to her car.
*End*
"Four stitches later..." You mumbled.
"You remember that?" Mige asked. You touched the scar on your chin and nodded.
"Walking sure wasn't your forte" Linde laughed.
"Crawling...No problem. But when it came to walking, pillows were set out or you had to have someone stand in front of you and behind you" Mige said.
Your dad nodded. "You refused to have someone hold your hand. You were very adamant about walking on your own."
"Can we stop with the embarrassing baby stories?" You asked.
"They're not embarrassing. They're adorable"
"Sure"
"They are"
"I want to hear them" Novak said.
"Well there was the one time where Miia's mother just gave her juice and forgot to take her to the bathroom after. So she ends up peeing on Linde when he lifted her up. She made the cutest face-"
You threw your head back and walked out of the room. You didn't want to hear any more stories about yourself.
"Aw...Come back, Miia. We'll stop" Your dad laughed. You went back into the living room and sat down on the arm of the couch. Your arms crossed.
"What's wrong?"
You looked up to see Ryan walking over to you.
"My father is telling everyone embarrassing stories about me" You told him. "The few that he has, that is"
"Oh" Ryan laughed. You gave him a "not amused" look.
Ryan stopped laughing right away. "Sorry"
"Yeah"
"What are you doing here?" Bam asked, walking in the room. Ryan shrugged. You looked away from Bam, making him almost crack up.
"They're just stories, jeez. Every parent tells them"
"Parent" Ryan repeated, "It's still so weird"
"I know" Bam chuckled. "It's fucking nuts"
"I had no idea"
Bam shook his head. "Me neither"
You looked back and forth from Bam to Ryan as they both discussed the characteristics of your dad, which might have pointed to him actually being your dad.
"He always got weird when he saw a kid" Ryan said.
"Yeah. And he always has been kind of fatherly...Sort of"
"True. Sort of"
You sighed loudly, making the two guys look at you.
"What?" Bam asked.
"Nothing"
"Ok..."
"I need a smoke" You said and stood up.
Bam pushed you back down. "No smoking"
You and Ryan both gave him a funny look.
"No smoking" Bam repeated. "You're too young"
"Oh come the fuck on, dude. Since when do you care?" You asked.
"Ever"
"Yeah right"
"How do you know I don't care? According to the band, you don't even know me"
"According to the band"
"So you do know about me?"
"Maybe"
"Is that a yes or a no?"
"Why does it matter?"
"I just want to know"
Ryan smiled, knowing Bam wasn't going to get anywhere with you.
"Why though? Is knowing if someone knows of you that important to you? Are you that conceited?"
"I'm not...Whatever you said. I just want to know if you know this!" Bam put his arms out, showing the house.
"It means vain, Bam" Ryan explained.
You nodded at Ryan and then started tearing up for some reason when Novak came in the room.
"So do you or don't you?" Bam asked.
"Of course I know about you. My dad is a friend of yours, is he not? Plus, I do have friends who are fans of yours. I've been forced to watch Haggard many times"
"Why are you crying?" Novak asked. "Again"
You wiped your eyes and tried to laugh it off. "No reason"
"Hmm..."
"Why did you tell everyone that you didn't know who I was?" Bam asked.
"I didn't. I said that I didn't know very much about you. The only one I really fibbed to was April, when I pretended not to know who Novak was"
"Then how come you hid behind your dad when I came outside to say hi if you already know who I am?"
"Because" You blushed. "You're still a stranger"
"Aw..." Ryan cooed. "She's shy"
"So...I'm bored"
"Me too" Novak said.
"Is Ville still telling stories about me?"
"I think he's going about when you were born..."
"Wonderful"
"It's cute. Supposedly, you were almost born in a car"
"I know. I've heard that story before"
Ryan sat down on the couch. "So, do you have any stories?"
"About..."
"Anything. Friends, your embarrassing father..."
"I have no stories about Ville"
"Stories about yourself than. Just tell us something. There's nothing else to do around here"
You let yourself fall back on the couch and then neatly folded your hands in your lap. "Well, there was the first time I got drunk..."
Bam and Novak both sat down in the chairs across from the couch and eagerly awaited your story.
"I can't remember a lot about it, but my friend said that things got pretty weird. He said that he gave me a few beers, which I drank and then he said I started crying. So...He gave me a few more to make me shut up"
"Nice boyfriend" Ryan said.
"So not my boyfriend. Anyways, after drinking six beers in total he said I started hitting on him. Which is a little messed since I was only like thirteen. He said he gave me my first kiss that night, which is very sad because I can't remember it. Later that night, and this I remember, one of his friends came over and I ended up getting a needle shoved through-"
"Hey!" Bam shouted. "Your dad might hear you"
"...My nose. I remember seeing the needle, don't remember feeling it. I do remember the JD bottle though" You sighed and grabbed your head. "So not cool"
Bam, Novak and Ryan laughed.
"My mother took out the piercing when I got home. She also made me clean up my throw up before I was allowed to pass out...So she says"
Ryan shook his head. "Mothers"
"I know. I've always wanted a piercing and when I finally got one...She takes it out"
"How was the hangover?"
"Deadly. I had to go school the next day too"
Bam gave you a painful expression.
"I fell asleep during Math and got into trouble. Which was fine, because then I got to sleep through detention. But I ended up puking in detention and got sent home where I was grounded for a week"
"Didn't your mom think you had been punished enough?" Ryan asked.
"I guess not"
"And the lesson we learned was..."
"Never drink and then go home. Or go to school the next day"
Bam gave a smile that you laughed when you usually saw...On TV. But in real life, you hoped you would NEVER see.
"Please don't" You said, looking back at him.
"Don't what?"
"Do whatever it is you want to do"
"I'm not going to do anything"
"Better not"
Bam got up and ran to the kitchen.
"He's going to do something to me, isn't he?" You asked Ryan and Novak.
"Probably" Novak said.
"Great...I'm staying in Ville's room all day than"
"He'll get you in there too"
You sighed loudly.
Ryan patted you on the shoulder sympathetically, "It's ok. I'll make sure he doesn't do anything"
"Thank you"
Nothing really happened that day. Everyone spent most of the day huddled in the kitchen, listening to your dad talk about you and your mother. You stayed in the living room, regaling Ryan and Novak with your tales of drunkenness. And there were a lot of them. Bam was up to something because every time he saw you, he would give you that smirk. All hell broke loose around 4pm.
Your dad and the band were in the Pirate Bar. You were still in the living room. Bam came in and placed a corked bottle of red wine on the floor beside your feet.
"What am I supposed to do with that?" You asked, looking down at it. "And don't say anything with the words 'ass' and 'shove' in it"
"You drink it" Bam answered, smiling.
"And die?"
Bam rolled his eyes at you, "You're not going to die"
"Why do you want me to drink it?"
"Because"
"For fuck sake's Bam, just give a straight answer" Ryan snapped
"Because I'm trying to bring some excitement into your tiny, depressed world"
"Right..." You said. Bam walked out of the room.
"Why wine?" You asked. Novak nodded, wondering the same thing.
"I'm guessing it has something to do with your dad" Ryan replied. "Wine junkie"
"Oh"
Bam came back holding two beers and a wineglass. He gave one to Novak and then one to Ryan.
"If you want to be all girly about it..." Bam held the wineglass out to you. You took it and he walked away again. You put the wineglass on the floor and picked up the bottle of wine.
"My nemesis" You said and took a swig.
"Well, let the fun begin" Ryan laughed.
"...And prepare for one hell of a killer hangover" Novak added. You just shrugged and took another sip.
"So why did you start crying when I walked in the room before?" Novak asked.
"Like I said, I've seen Haggard" Was all you said, making both Novak and Ryan sink into thought.
"Oh" You put your wine bottle down. "There's something I need to do"
"What's that?" Ryan asked. You turned sideways and gave him a hug.
"Drunk already" Novak snickered.
"No" You chuckled, parting from Ryan who was extremely confused.
"Why did you hug me?"
"The car" You said.
"The car?"
You nodded. "The car. You know, in the 'making of Jackass' you said you wanted a hug from a girl after...Well, you know. Anyways, I know it's a little late and you probably already have gotten hugged by a girl..."
Ryan started laughing and gave you a side-hug. Novak was still trying to figure out what you were talking about.
"Well, thank you for the hug" Ryan said. You took another sip of your wine and smiled.
You placed the empty wine bottle at your feet and leaned back on the couch. Ryan just shook his head at you.
"Dude, if she dies...I'm blaming Bam" Novak said. You smiled and closed your eyes.
"Drunk yet?" Bam chimed, walking into the living room.
"I don't know" Ryan answered.
"She has to be!" Bam said, picking up the bottle. Ryan pushed you over slightly.
"Don't..." You whined.
"Good and drunk. Now the fun really starts" Bam cackled. You opened your eyes and glared at him. Bam pulled something from his pocket and showed it to Ryan.
"Where'd you get that?" He asked.
"...I have sources"
"And her dad doesn't mind?"
"Nope"
"Right"
"Novak, lighter" Bam ordered. Novak dug out his lighter and threw it at him. You panicked when Bam lit the lighter and held the piercing needle in the flame.
"No, no..." You said and scrambled to get off the couch.
"It won't hurt a bit. I promise" Bam laughed. Ryan pummeled you to the floor and rolled you over onto your back. He held your arms down.
"And I gave you a hug" You hissed, trying to break free of his grip. Ryan leaned on you slightly as Bam knelt down by your head. Novak crouched down by Bam.
"Sorry" Ryan said. "He'll find a way to do it anyways"
Bam passed something to Novak to hold onto and then looked down at you. "Do not move, Miia"
"Don't move?!" You shouted. "You, Bam Margera, are about to stick a fuckin' needle through my nose!"
"Yes, I am" Bam dropped the lighter and leaned close to you. "Now hold still"
You squealed and closed your eyes tightly. Bam studied your nose for a second and then pushed the needle through the crease of your right nostril. You screamed. Novak quickly handed Bam the silver nose screw.
"It can't hurt that bad" Ryan said. Despite his ever-growing grip on your arms, you stuck your middle finger up. Bam took the needle out and carefully put the jewelry in.
"There" He said. "Done"
You opened your eyes. A tear rolled down your cheek making all three of the guys feel slightly guilty. After Ryan let go of you, you sat up.
"So not cool" You said, wiping your eyes. Bam turned your chin, so you were looking at him. He wiped the drop of blood off your nose with the tissue he was now holding.
"What did you do?!" Your dad's voice rang.
"Uh-oh" Novak said, making you giggle. You looked up at your dad as he towered over you and grinned.
"What did you do to her nose?" He asked.
"...Pierced it" Bam innocently answered.
"Why would you do that?"
"Because she always wanted it pierced"
"I don't feel so good" You said, hand on your stomach. Your dad's eyes traveled to the empty red wine bottle.
"We thought it would help with the pain" Bam told him before he could say anything.
"We?" Ryan repeated. "You did. Novak and I had nothing to do with this.
"I really don't feel good" You mumbled and fell backwards. Bam caught you before you could hit the floor. Your dad picked you up and cradled you in his arms.
"She needed some fun" Bam said, standing up.
"So you gave her wine?"
Bam nodded. "I didn't expect her to drink the whole bottle though. I swear"
"She's going to be so sick tomorrow"
"At least it'll teach her not to drink red wine anymore"
"Or trust you" Ryan pointed out to Bam. Your dad started walking upstairs.
"Don't take the piercing out!" Novak yelled after him.
"Ville?" You slurred, as your dad put you down on his bed.
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"My tummy feels icky"
"Are you going to be sick?"
"No"
Your dad ran his hand across your forehead. "Are you sure?"
"Mmhmm. Don't be mad at Bam. It's not his fault...I drank the wine"
"He gave it to you though and then he pierced your nose" Your dad touched your nose. "Your cute little nose..."
"Please let me keep it in"
"It's your nose. Wreck it if you want to"
"Ok"
Your dad laid down beside you and pulled you onto your side so you were facing him. "Sorry, I just want to make sure you don't choke if you're sick"
"I won't get sick"
The bedroom door opened. Bam came in with a bucket, Ryan was beside him holding a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball.
"Just in case" Bam said, and put the bucket on the floor next to your side of the bed. Ryan wetted the cotton ball with the alcohol and then handed the cotton ball to your dad. You took a swing at your dad when he put it on your piercing.
"She's resorted to violence now" Ryan laughed as your dad pushed your arms down and held them under his arm.
"No..." You pouted.
"Stop being such a baby" Bam said. Your dad quickly put the wet cotton ball on again, making you cry.
"Oh sh..." Your dad took the cotton ball away and blew on your nose, trying to make the stinging go away. "There"
You turned on your back again and closed your eyes. Your dad moaned and pulled you back onto your side.
"I'm sorry for the whole red wine thing. I seriously didn't think she was going to drink the entire bottle" Bam said.
"I believe you" Your dad replied.
"Really?" Ryan exclaimed, shocked.
Your dad nodded. "Yes. Her mother told me she's an avid drinker"
"To what extreme?"
Your dad just looked at you.
"Whole bottle in an hour and a half extreme" Bam said.
"Do you think she has a 'problem'?" Ryan asked.
"No" Your dad answered. "I just think she needs someone to tell her when to stop"
"Oh"
You rolled onto your back again.
"Miia, stay on your side love" Your dad said, trying to pull you again. You moaned and groggily sat up. Bam grabbed the bucket and put it in front of you. You pushed it away.
"If you're going to throw up-" Bam put the bucket back in front of you. "Aim for the bucket. Not the bed"
"I'm fine" You said, and looked around the room. "I don't want to sleep"
"Too bad. You need to sleep this off" Bam said and made the mistake of pushing you backwards. You rolled over quickly and put your head over the edge of the bed.
"Do you know how hard it is to get red wine out of a carpet?!" Bam yelled as you threw up. Ryan put the bucket on the floor, where you were 'aiming'.
"Yes, I do" Your dad said, holding your hair back.
"Don't bitch, Bam. This is your fault" Ryan yelled. You pulled yourself fully back onto the bed and put your head on the pillow.
"Sorry" You softly said. "I'll clean it up"
"It's ok, I'll clean it up" Ryan told you and walked out of the room to get a towel. Your dad wiped the sweat off your forehead with his hand.
"Sleep" He whispered and rolled you onto your side again. You closed your eyes and curled yourself into a ball. Bam put the blankets over top of you.
"Sorry. I didn't know" You heard him tell your dad.
A soft smile spread across your face when your dad said, "It's ok. You'll get what you deserve when you help me deal with her hangover tomorrow"
